Qasa Alom is in Sheffield to look at the UK's changing urban landscape.

There are wide differences in the rates of urbanisation in the UK. Between 2011 and 2021, some urban areas such as Milton Keynes and Exeter saw increases of over 10% whilst others such as Portsmouth and Sunderland saw smaller increases, or even decreases.

Students and young adults are the age groups most likely to move to cities and larger towns in the UK. In London, Newham and Tower Hamlets are growing at a rate of over 10%, whereas Kensington and Chelsea and Camden are declining.
