A Taste of Honey (play) - Themes overview

In her play Shelagh Delaney has chosen to discuss many issues, the most important one being the mother and daughter relationship that exists between Jo and Helen. However, throughout A Taste of Honey Delaney also chooses to look at the themes of love and marriage and the way happiness relates to the themes of darkness and death.

All of these themes can be seen through the relationship between Jo and Helen in particular but also in the relationships both women have with Peter and Geof.
