There were many jobs in Ancient Egypt:
- Bakers
- Scribes (writers)
- Priests
- Doctors
- Craftspeople
- Merchants (people who sell things)
- Many children had jobs or learned a trade.
What were ancient Egyptian houses like?
- Houses were built of mud-bricks with floors made from earth.
- Seats and ovens were built into the house.
- Food was cooked in stone ovens, using a fire.
- Food was stored in cool places below ground level.

What food did the ancient Egyptians eat?
Lots of different foods could be grown along the banks of the river Nile.
- Rich people ate meat, eggs, figs and grapes.
- Poor people ate bread and onions. Everyone loved garlic.
