Introduction to the series

This EAL series is aimed at learners who are new to English.

It introduces starter words and phrases to help a new learner talk about their needs and wants in everyday situations, and build friendships along the way.

Guides include the following:

  • A topic video to introduce the theme and language

  • Key words with audio given

  • Interactive activities to practise the key words

  • Sentence structures to use key words meaningfully

  • Challenges to put the learning into practice beyond the guide

There is no set order in which to work through the guides.

A lot of sentence structures covered are useful in many situations. You will find them all listed on this page, with links to help you move between guides according to your learning needs.

Happy learning!
