ADAM AND JOE-MEN

Post categories:

Joe Cornish Joe Cornish | 17:45 UK time, Thursday, 18 June 2009

Hey there Blog People!

Ìý

Check out these amazing cut-out Adam and Joe figures designed by the extraordinarily talented and resourceful . Sally has even reproduced the exact clothes we were wearing for the Camden Crawl, right down to Adam's tall hat and my hilarious and highly fashionable Bart Marley T-Shirt.

Adam And Joe-Men

Ìý

Thanks to Sally, you can even , then cut them out and make yourself mini Adam and Joe-men. Adam and Joe-men are to summer what Snow-men are to winter, you see? Then you can operate them like little puppets while listening to the show, and it'll be as if tiny, square headed, better looking cardboard versions of us are right there in the room with you! It'll be like a dream come true, so long as you have at some point in the past dreamt that we were very small, hollow and cardboard. But please do not touch your little cardboard men inappropriately, as they might well act like tiny voodoo dolls, and get us overexcited.

Ìý

Thank you for your attention. Bye!

Please read out my plea on the radio show in aid of King Corndog(Joe) and my myspace group.

Joe please keep the myspace despite the new blog!!!!

    P.S Bring back Gaijin Invasion!!!!

Doctor Sexy, thank you so much for bringing this inspired time drainer to our attention.

I see that you actually need two pages of template. The other one is . I think I shall make them during next Saturday's show and then dance them around wildly during the Glastonbury shows.

Deep respect and thanks to you, Sally and two great big licks for Adam and for Joe.

  • Comment number 4.

I'm an idiothole. I see Joe linked both pages perfectly but my excited mouse finger did not hesitate for long enough.

  • Comment number 5.

Hahaha! These are wickedy-stix - thanks, Sally! You must be some kind of genius.

  • Comment number 6.

    Those are absolutely fantastic

  • Comment number 7.

...Joe's head should be, er, notassquareasAdam's...

  • Comment number 8.

These are perfectly insane. I love it. Is it just me or does the mini Bucko look a lot like a weird version of the cartoon character Ulysses from Ulysses 31?
..actually that's basically how I like to think of Adam all the time.

  • Comment number 9.

As fantastic as these are I feel that having both your grinning paper faces staring at me all the time might cause some psychological harm in the long run.

  • Comment number 10.

I'm afraid if I do that I'm only two steps away from becoming a psychopath.

The next step being talking to them as if they were real and blaming them for all the mad crazy things I do.

  • Comment number 11.

Although for these to be to scale, Joe's would have to be printed out on A3.

  • Comment number 12.

I love these. I love you.

  • Comment number 13.

If you look closely at their little faces, you can see that while Adam is quite content, there's a harrowing desperation in Joe's eyes, as though he's been trapped in a gelatinous cube and can't get out. I know he's smiling, but it's a frozen, terrified smile, like Mimsy Farmer's in 'Autopsy'.

  • Comment number 14.

hmmm - it is impossible to make these without massive amounts of inappropriate touching.
    I like it.
I started with Joe because he's easy (you know it).
I need to spend a bit longer on Adam and his hat. Like Sally, I don't think my scalpel skills will cope with the shades, though.

  • Comment number 15.

hmm - don't know if is being modded - if so, please remove this comment. It worked OK as a clickable thumbnail in the preview but perhaps a link is more polite.

  • Comment number 16.

Don't know why I'm bothering to share this really, but I finished Adam & decided to give a bit of a jaunt to his hat.
Main reason for posting is because the background features a shot of Joe looking ridiculously HOT on the webcam in his smart jacket. I guess we won't get a video on the blog this week as he had to dash......sigh (longing, bereft, heartbreak emoticon)

    @webname - Page Not Found :-(
    I'm sad now.

  • Comment number 18.

    Glad you like them!

I have made a special fathers day themed addition.

I don't know how to make a link.

  • Comment number 19.

Sally, that's amazing! Adam will love him.

Fruity, not sue why you can't see them. Perhaps Photobucket was down when you tried

  • Comment number 20.

webname, I can see it now. I'm so glad I waited! I like the rakish angle of Cardboard Adam's hat, and the way at first glance that Joe looks like he's wearing a balaclava.

Sally, that dad-doll is flippin' awesome. Go to the top of the class!

Just heard the new podcast no Adam and joe for two months?! The nation surely mourns

  • Comment number 22.

I haven't heard the podcast yet, but WHAT? No Adam and Joe for two whole months? Where are they going? What are they doing?

  • Comment number 23.

They're going on holiday? How dare they! What will I do?

  • Comment number 24.

They've laid down some podcasts to tide us over, apparently. Absence makes the heart grow fonder but I didn't even know I COULD be more fond than I am already.

  • Comment number 25.

    Hi Adam and Joe.

While listening to the podcast (I'd like to listen to the live show but I live in the BLOODY STATES and, as a result, we have different time zones), so I heard you guys talk about how interesting it would be to actually know who EXACTLY lives on the other side of the world, right under your feet, and maybe have him/her become your pen pal. So ever since, I couldn't help but wonder WHO REALLY LIVES ON THE OTHER SIDE? So I searched the web for something that could solve that problem and I found this web site: . You should check it out, though I already checked and there is nothing under London.

Great show and Greetings from Miami, Florida.

Does anyone else think that A & J's absence will not be temporary, but permanent? I'm not sure why, but I fear it's so. And I think it has something to do with Adam's new TV gig. I imagine if I were him, after working long hours all week, I wouldn't be keen on dragging myself in to do a radio show on Saturday morning. Anyway, life without Buckles and Cornballs makes me terribly sad. I couldn't even enjoy the latest podcast after they announced the news right at the beginning. I was too crestfallen.

Maybe podcasts could be made from some old shows to tide us over?

  • Comment number 27.

Don't, don't, don't. I worry about this every time they take a break.

I am less worried about Adam and more about Joe's time drain as he goes into production. However, I reasoned that they would not have put this much effort into laying a nice bed for the blog etc if they didn't have some intention to continue.

Adam must be totally frazzled & this week will be seriously exhausting for him with a dash straight down to Glasto after the recording BUT he only has two or three more weeks of that & then who knows what his next gig will be (other than BUG).

  • Comment number 28.

I didn't mean to come off too sulky, then. I've had the SHivery tINGLES myself so I'd hate either of them to become ill if they got so run down again.
Furthermore, I love them so much that I want them to be doing the stuff they enjoy and find fulfilling.

However, they've accidentally acquired a bunch of idiots who are unhealthily attached and addicted to their nonsense and frankly, they're going to have to take a little responsibility at some point (smiley emoticon)

  • Comment number 29.

webname, you're not by any chance referring to us people sending these comments to the blog posts? ;-)

  • Comment number 30.

I'm sure the show will continue, as webname says, they wouldn't have gone to the trouble of creating this blog thing if they were leaving the Castle for good.

By the way, webname, I believe you meant to call us "idiotholes" :-)

  • Comment number 31.

I'm looking forward to the day when "idiothole" makes into a proper dictionary. :-)

  • Comment number 32.

They signed a contract for a year in October...I dread to think what I will listen to when they do eventually leave though...I dread to think about what I'll listen to in their summr break...

  • Comment number 33.

It is sad sad news that Micheal Jackson is dead I know I'm shocked!!!!

  • Comment number 34.

If you'd like to see what Adam and Joe recommend for Glastonbury check out the 6 music DJ recommendations.. I'm not telling which ones they picked!

    /glastonbury/2009/lineup/dj/

We've also got a 6 music Glasto message board here /dna/mb6music/F14000399 for general Glasto chat...

  • Comment number 35.

Thanks Peta. Can someone start a new blog entry where we can mumble stuff? Does one of the production team have a moment? It just seems like comments won't be noticed on this entry.
