Not further afield than Spain but exciting Stephenage none the less. I was also at Primavera Sound and waiting for Phoenix to come on stage when I heard the Stephen! call behind me. You can imagine my excitement at finally getting to join in with this craze as I live in Ireland and not everyone here has cottoned on to the genius of Adam and Joe .. Without thinking, I called back 'just coming' and momentarily confused the original caller as he searched to see who had answered. When he turned around and saw my delirious face there were high fives and huzzahs all round. Meanwhile, my boyfriend stood behind me wondering what the hell had just happened. Thank you British boy who made my day!

Hey Linders000 - I too am an Adam and Joe enthusiast from the Emerald Isle. My live thus far has been bereft of any Stephenage. I came very close to shouting it out in a bar in Manchester last month but chickened out because, like Limahl, I was too shy shy*

Just thought you might be interested to know that outbreaks of Stephenage in Spain puts you at a 6 on the WHO pandemic alert scale. You're beating Swine Flu.

I'm much farther than Spain. I'm way off in the US, in Florida of all places. Me and my sisters listen to Adam and Joe religiously. We give the Stephan call frequently, but unfortunatly are only around old retired Floridians, and therefore have never gotten a legitamate response. We've resolved to using it in order to find eachother in crowds or largely empty stores.

I went to a Ray LaMontagne concert a little over a month ago, and I thought that that would be the best place to belt out a good Stephan. I was so enthralled by his music, however, that I didn't have the oppurtunity to give one between songs. I was going to give a good one when everyone was filing out of the theatre. I had just withdrawn a huge breath, preparing for the yell, when my mother slapped a hand over my mouth and said something about not wanting to get embarrassed. I can't help wondering if I'd ever gotten a response had I the ability to give one.

I'm a Brit ex-pat living in Melbourne, Australia (are there any places further away?). The name Stephen has come up in conversations several times recently, and my uncontrollable outbursts of "just coming" are usually met with odd looks. So no successful Stephenage here, I'm afraid. But I won't give up trying. Oh, no.

I got dragged, kicking and screaming, into Primark on Oxford Street today by a female friend so rebelled by trying my first Stephenage attempt. No reply. Gutted. But obviously no A&J fans shop in Primark. Well done.

Hi all *smiley* Recently on a trip downtown in Tenerife (not Spain...really. Not Spain in the slightest. NOT SPAIN!!!!!) in Las Americas there were multiple bouts of Stevenage at 2 ish in the morning on a Friday night. There you go, one case outside of Spain. Because Tenerife ISN'T SPAIN! Toodles :)

Well now, I'm in Beijing which is pretty darn far but the closest we had to a genuine Stephen moment was when someone introduced themselves with said moniker in a bar and my friend said quick as a flash "just coming" cue chuckles between us and perplexed folks all around... I did try a proper Stephen at an electronic music fest a few weeks ago, sitting with a mojito the size of my head gave me the courage to yell "Stephen!" not once, not twice but thricely... and three times a failure... sigh... I'll keep trying though!

Hi dankatz - I'm in Melbourne too. I have been too timid to let loose with a 'Stephen' to date but I may just give it a go now...

@ dankatz and Hello_Possums: I'm in Canberra (but don't hold that against me)...I've attempted Stephenage in Garema Place (the 'city centre') on a Saturday morning, but unfortunately (a) I got no response, and (2) there was virtually nobody around. Maybe we can co-ordinate a simultaneous Australian "STEPHEN!" with all the Oz fans? I know there are a few in Melbourne and at least one in WA somewhere...

A couple of us tried some Stephenage in the middle of a four day Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu in Peru. We were just leaving the campsite on the morning of the third day and felt sure that there must be a fellow Adam and Joe listener among the campers, who would respond. We shouted it out into the ancient hills of the sacred valley and heard... nothing.

I got a bit excited when I heard someone a couple of minutes later shouting 'Stephen!' and was just about to bellow out 'Just Coming!', when I realised it was just my friend ross playing back our aforementioned failed Stephen :(
