Yay - so pleased you've come up with this. Can't wait to see the contributors but I won't be one of them.
Shy and untalented are not the perfect combo.

  • Comment number 2.

!!! This is truly the best idea ever since perforated bread!!! Brillo!

  • Comment number 3.

Oh gosh no chance of entering this.

But i would like to see the show.

Is here a good place to ask when those 6Music pictures might be replaced?

Adam and Joe have really grown into themselves now and look so gorgeous that it seems a shame to have those old ones there. The Castle's photographer in chief took a big bundle of snaps earlier this year & I am sure there are some that would fit into the tiny Podcast box shape.

I hate complaining but it's done with love and admiration. *cheesy grin*

  • Comment number 5.

Just the thought of putting a camera near me makes me want to vomit. Have fun without me!

  • Comment number 6.

Oh wow. I would so be up for this if I lived on the mainland. Anyone know if Guernsey, Channel Islands is included in the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s vision of the UK?

May have to pop off an email just in case.

Ace little competition either way! (I say little, but it's quite amazing, actually.)

  • Comment number 7.

Seems like Blog squadron has a shy streak. Like the previous contributors I lack the talent and confidence to perform this task.

If blog squadron were an investor in people perhaps we could identify singing lessons as a developmental need?

PS. Thought the last 2 shows were some of the funniest and bestest ever.

oh, Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe ! Just listened to the podcast. I really hope you're over your self-loathing by now but we love your voice and the way you fly in the face of traditional inflections and pronunciations! It's what makes you unique and adorable.
I'm sure it was just a passing phase but just in case, may I refer you to Black Squadron's command from the previous week? Take a long and loving look in the mirror, give your face a good slap & shout "Snap Out of It!"
(then come over here for a little ego-cuddle)

  • Comment number 9.

I agree, craiglamuffin, I think we are also Shy Squadron. I had a pan IN MY HAND on the announcement of the Black Squadron command on Saturday (having just washed it up) and I was about to put it on my head, but realised I could never prove I had done it because I couldn’t have sent in a photo – too scared!

Much admiration to anyone brave enough to do this one!

  • Comment number 10.

canoenoodle... so close but so far! Do you really want to wake up in 10 years and say you didn't have the courage to put the pan on your head?

Dig deep in your underpips and go for it! (Completely wimped out myself as well but determined to task it like it aint no thang this weekend).

  • Comment number 11.

Now are A&J just doing a little segment bit inbetween shows, or is there a show we can actually go and see? How do we do that? :)

  • Comment number 12.

I think there will be details about attending this, nearer the time but it will probably be like the indecent scramble they had for the Camden Crawl. I guess they're hosting some of the event taking place that day.

  • Comment number 13.

Hi everyone, yes there will be an live event at lunchtime on Thurdsay 22nd October where you can come and watch the performances from the winners and other bits and pieces involving A&J. Due to space, the tickets will be limited to around 40 pairs. It will be in one of the rooms in the Roundhouse in London and we'll announce details on the radio show and podcast soon. If you have made a video, let us know how you got on here on the blog!

  • Comment number 14.

make that 'a' live event rather than 'an'!

  • Comment number 15.

    you'd started to type 'an amazing live event' and then thought you'd pull back a bit, didn't you? {{ J S }}

  • Comment number 16.

    rumbled, how did you guess...

  • Comment number 17.

    haha an amazing live event…

Man, I almost wish I was unemployed so I could see it.
Who except students and the jobless are free in the middle of a week day?
    The proms are so inconsiderate.

  • Comment number 18.

@janineshroff Jobless sometimes = freelance which often = incredibly talented & creative people, searching for an outlet.
......and have you never heard of pulling a sickie?

  • Comment number 19.

can't do it. too much guilt.

  • Comment number 20.

Tempted to have a go at this!
Anyone here on Twitter? There are a couple of hashtags going for A&J-related nonsense - #AdamAndJoe and #BlackSquadron. Makes listening to the show even more fun when you can see what people are Tweeting as it goes out!

  • Comment number 21.

Is that D.L.T in the Nutty Room video?

  • Comment number 22.

Hang in there guys - at least one entry is headed your way!

  • Comment number 23.

    Oh... that's so cool...
Unfortunately, I can't be part of this competition, because I'm from Brazil.

I'd looooooove to meet them personaly!

  • Comment number 24.

I think you do have a lot of shy listeners, but I'm not one of them - a video will be coming your way from me! Although it will be near the deadline as I'm studying for an exam on 6 October :(

  • Comment number 25.

Haha, I can't believe they didn't get any entries. I think everyone's worried about making complete idiotholes of themselves

  • Comment number 26.

I could make absolutely the most incredible, standout audition video but on the day, my knees would buckle, I'd start to dribble and the game would be over. It would also probably be playing fast and loose with the Castle's trust, so I'm not even going to try.

  • Comment number 27.

Video submitted. Could *not* have looked like bigger idiotholes if we'd tried, but had an absolute blast making it!
We only had a short window of time to get the thing finished before work/university intrusion would have made it impossible, so it's not quite perfect (ahem). Fairly happy with our version of the song though. Nutty fun!

  • Comment number 28.

A video sharing site like Google Video? I think not:

  • Comment number 29.

So everybody is shy, how about we team up then? I don't mind getting on camera, I've been made redundant, evicted and dumped this year, what more can happen?!:D Anyone in London town got a device to record with? if so get in touch with me through this blog. I met Adam and Joe once, they are well worth meeting again. If we are big enough fans to spend time writing on their blog then surely we should be supporting them with competition entries? Any excuse to have an hour of from the joy of jobhunting . ...whoop whoop!

  • Comment number 30.

I would absolutely love to take part in this competition, as I am an actor and a musician, and therefore can think of nothing more enjoyable than prancing around on stage with the magical Adam and Joe. Unfortunately, I live in New York so my ability to actually make the event are slim to none. However, I'm quite tempted to make a video just for sherbert and fizzles.

  • Comment number 31.

Would love to have supplied a video, but have a feeling I would look far too sincere singing these songs, and a degree of irony is more than likely required...

  • Comment number 32.

People aren't as shy as you might think. They were just taking a bit of time to hone their craft. Exactly how quickly do you think someone can *learn* the words to Nutty Room? The vids are trickling in & I've only checked YouTube in my lazy haze so who knows what they've had to wade through this week.

  • Comment number 33.

I won't be taking place either...but looking forward to see the results.
but i am surprised to see that Adam changed his lyrics from "Patrick Swayze" to "Kevin Spacey", that was my favorite part of the song..damn political correctness!!..

  • Comment number 34.

    @ londono77

It's respect & sensitivity gone mad.
    .....another reason to love Buckles

  • Comment number 35.

Kevin Spacey makes much more sense than Patrick Swayze though,
Se7en, that other nut case one, soemthing else where he was scary.
mostly se7en, which is always scarier than dirty dancing.

  • Comment number 36.

Thinking about Nutty Room, I have a little fantasy about the video which is that I like to imagine which property TV show presenter would perform best in the situation (hopefully coming soon on TV – surely it must be inevitable??) where they bring a couple searching for a renovation & development opportunity to the Nutty Room house and have to deal with what they find therein.

Kirstie and Phil – not good, probably a lot of giggling and going from room to room goggle-eyed and blaming each other for putting it on the shortlist. Kirstie would finish on a sexist comment, for example that only a man could have done it.
Kevin McCloud – Unlikely to be rendered entirely speechless, but probably very inarticulate which could be fun. A lot of umm-ing and err-ing and nervous laughing. Way out of his depth.
Sarah Beeny – Outright winner. She’d be standing there in her hard hat, entirely professional, and her tension building ‘will-they-won’t-they-listen-to-the-wisdom-of-the-Beeny’ music would kick in and her voice-over would say something like: ‘Although this may not be what Jocasta and Anthony were expecting from the outside, they have to be able to see the enormous potential in this property. While the current interior is certainly unconventional I think they’d be crazy to pass up the opportunity to stamp their own personalities on this fantastic development.’

Surely this has to happen some day…I wait for it….in the meantime I will keep playing TV Nutty Room Property Presenter Trumps in my head.
