A&J PODCAST TROUBLE!

Post categories:

James Stirling (6 Music) James Stirling (6 Music) | 11:27 UK time, Tuesday, 3 November 2009

Some of you may have had the misfortune to make it past the 40 minute mark on Saturday's (31st Oct) podcast. If you did then we can only apologise for the nasty noise that suddenly interrupted your hosts. I have replaced it with a more pleasing take - titled 'The End of Boggins? (v2) 31 Oct 09'. Please, for the sake of your ears, download this one and delete the original...

My poor poor ears. For a while I thought it was a 'clever' Bob Dylan joke, but it soon had me checking other podcasts to see if my iPod was broken.

Thanks for the info - I came straight here to see what was going on.

This is all very well and dandy. However, the only podcast link I can see is to the Oct 24th programme. Curiouser and curiouser.

  • Comment number 3.

Thank you, James. You are currently more handsome than Adam and far less haughty than Joe. xxxoooxxxxO

For the first couple of minutes of ear-bleeding static I was thinking, 'Wow, "Uncle Buck" has really gone over the top with this latest jingle...'

Consequently, I'd like to request that whoever the individual is who edits the podcast be shackled and placed in a sack along with Boggins before the pair of them are dropped into a deep ocean crevice and never spoken of again.

  • Comment number 5.

What happened? Did Boggins drag himself over the audio equipment to ease his itchy glands?

  • Comment number 6.

Ah - I see what you did there. You cunningly updated the podcast just after I made my comment about the old one being up there, thus making me look foolish and a tad ridiculous. I have now consequently componded this impression by typing this, thus making me look even foolisher and ridiculouser. And so it goes. I have the new one now. Ta.

Phew thank goodness. I can imagine everyone thought it was Dr Buckles going a little overboard with the Bob Dylan joke. It did really hurt the ears though, after re-downloading I assumed it was just my PC so was too embarrassed to complain to the Big British Castle. Maybe we should all email Points of View just so we can hear "Blah Boobidy Baya" again. I blame Boggins.

  • Comment number 8.

Personally, Josh, I never tire of hearing "Blah Boobidy Baya" -

    AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH! My ears are bleeding...
That's what you get when you take the mick out of Bob.

There I was trundling along at work, when I, too thought Adam had gone all experimental. I almost sent my milk-float careering into the local 'upholstorers' (as the sign says). However, unlike @scoggy, I persevered for the remaining 20-odd minutes, and now cannot stop screming. Thanks, luvoobye!

Haha - having listened to the show live I was going to select the Bob Dylan bit to play to my partner to show him what he'd missed, good job I checked it out first as that might have made him run away - a long way away...as it was the only damage done was that I dropped some toiletries into bath because it made me jump while getting ready for work this morning!

  • Comment number 12.

Scary shock to my ears. Look around, the bus is full. Did I jump in shock or did I make it look like changing cheeks? Did anyone notice? Did the lady opposite just give me a concerned look? Did I fall back or spring forward? I think I got away with it but It wasn't pretty. THANKS A LOT

  • Comment number 13.

I was cycling home. When I recovered my composure, all I could think about was the opening sequence to Flash Forward. Admit it Adam and Joe, you're attempting world domination via mass loss of consciousness!

  • Comment number 14.

After that shock I think I wont be so eager to download the weekly podcast on a Monday. Very nasty trick, I blame Boggins...kill him.

  • Comment number 15.

    Apodcastlypse

  • Comment number 16.

    Thanks for the update, James.

Oh, poor Boggins. Don't kill him! He's just a stinky old mutt, but I love him.

  • Comment number 17.

That was seriously painful. I too thought (for a good minute) that it was some kind of Dylan joke, lost on me.

  • Comment number 18.

    "Apodcastlypse". Quality.

  • Comment number 19.

Right, the iPlayer downtime thing was sorted, the podcast was smoothed, we got a lovely blog entry from Adam, we have the promise of an early placeholder podcast including a new song. Would it be rude to round things off nicely with the Problem Biscuit gallery?

  • Comment number 20.

Pah! Shalln't delete, it'll be worth million, MILLIONS I say!
