WIZZAIR
Hello...it's Monday morning, I'm a but fuzzyheaded after returning from Poland late last night. We flew WIZZAIR to Warsaw. I know it's childish but I find that name too funny. We spent the whole weekend in Warsaw..it's a beautiful place steeped in the saddest history. 85% of the city was bombed to smithereens during the second world war so it's a strange juxtapostion of beautiful old buildings with the bullet holes still intact, and ugly 50's architecture. I played a club called Club On-Off in the centre of Warsaw, a dark underground basement with a great soundsystem. The last time I played Poland was nearly a year ago and it felt like I had improved alot since then.. I played for nearly three hours and fuelled myself with tequila every once in a while. I played mainly house music but rounded it off with a little drum and bass which went down very well indeed. The Polish people are lovely, warm and so friendly. Life is harder over there, their basic working wage is alot less that what we get and thus young people are so much more aware of politics and social economics than we are.
Check the taken by the promoters Norbert and Igor..
So we've got one Thursday left before the big move to Friday nights on Radio 1. I'm off to Ibiza for the last time after this weeks show..am playing the closing party for Cream at Amnesia. Then am playing an Annie Mac Presents at Fabric this Friday..I've got High Contrast doing a house set! I love the fact that High Contrast is buying and playing around with house now...i can't wait to see what he plays..
Hi Annie
Complain about this postSorry for hijacking your blog but i want to spread the word.... I took part in the 大象传媒 6 Listener's Mix last night and reckon my tunes would appeal to your listeners too.
You can listen again at www.bbc.co.uk/6music, just go to the listener's mix page.
All comments appreciated.
Also, any other DJs out there can apply to do their own mix at this webpage.

Hi Annie,
Complain about this postWe just got back from Poland too! It was a long weekend in Krakow, with little or no sleep between Thursday and Sunday soaking up the amazing night-life and with some superb weather to boot. The evening might start at about 7 or 8 in the pubs and restaurants, but only kicks off properly around 3am in the clubs for a properly banging finish hours later. There are so many clubs around the main square. All of them are atmospheric in their basement and cave-like settings, and all have cheap or free admission, so you can hop between them to find a genre which suits your tastes.
I'd certainly recommend that everyone does some of the more serious stuff (including a visit to Auschwitz/Oswiecim), but don't miss the oportunity to join in the party -- the Poles certainly know how to enjoy themselves. I just can't wait to go back now :)
Hi Annie,
I was in On Off last Saturday and I have to say, that you were really greate. I talked to many of my friends and everybody enjoyed your set as much as me. You made us dance for three hours long. Definitely, it was one of the best parties in Warsaw this year.
Complain about this postI am happy to hear, that you enjoy your whole stay in Warsaw and I hope you will visit us again soon. We are looking forward to listening to your set once again.
I don't know if you have all pictures from the party. You can find many of them on www.cyfrogaleria.pl. Unfortunately, you have to register there to watch them all. If you would like, I can send you some of them.
