BIGBEATCARNAGE...
TONIGHT FROM 10pm the MASH UP is live from upstairs in a pub in Camden as part of the 大象传媒 ELECTRIC PROMS
Norman Cook is special guest..he'll be playing a whole hour of tunes from 11pm...
he played to a million people in Salvador earlier in the year and tonight he plays to 100 in the pub and to the whole world through radio 1. Very Very exciting.
don't forget to watch the video over the weekend and I'll tell you all about it on here asap..
Last time I saw FBS was back in early 1988. He was doing a tour of Universities as Norman Cook. He visited us at Kent. In a room designed to hold 500, I shared the dancefloor with between 8 and 19 others. As he played Double Dee and Steinski, I went crazy. The few people there stopped moving. No-one else had heard it yet. Norman went back to being a remixer, regrouped, and the rest is history. A man very many years ahead of his time.
Complain about this postI'd be interested to know what you though of The Good, The Bad And The Queen Annie.
I know it's not normally your bag, but they're highly anticipated on my Hi Fi and ipod.
Complain about this postI'm looking for a song that Annie played on the morning show yesterday when she was standing in. I thought she said it was by Mews but I didnt catch it - it was played at about 12pm. Annie yelled "how good is this song"??? after she played it - said the album is out now and the single out soon....
help! I've searched on i-tunes and on the radio 1 website but cant find it!
can you tell me what it was - it rocked!
Thanks,
Jayne.
Complain about this postJayne. I assume the track you're talking about is by called Knights of Cydonia by Muse fro the album Black Holes and Revelations. Hope this helps.
Complain about this postHi Annie
Complain about this posti listen your show everey week online. the last was huge with norman himself on air.
Its a Brighton (thing) FAT Hero SLIM in "how to cook a cool big beat party" like in the early big beat boutique days - and now back to the roots On The Floor at the Pub. but for me was this set sooo wicked and the best set I`ve heard since a very long time . the reason actually I don麓t like his techno sets from now. I prefer more the old skool (big beat)its more ass shaking and making freaky -praise you - dance moves. I wish i was there last friday but i recorded and can listen it every time and can jump up and down. BIG BEAT IS STILL ALIVE.
