post christmas bloat

my belly is awash with homecooked food, and Chocolate Kimberlys and Tayto cheese and onion crisps. The latter two foodstuffs are both Irish only and I hold them both in the same esteem as I would a close family member. They are just as much a part of coming home as everything else.

I have been mainly eating, snoozing on the sofa and reading Russell Brand's 'My Booky Wook'. It is brilliantly written as you would expect as the man has a vocabulary that rivals the girl who approves the words in Countdown. My favourite word learnt has been 'recalcitrant' which means 'willfuly disobedient'.

I have been an avid listener to Russell's radio 2 podcasts and his 6music ones before that. It's funny when you listen to a radio show every week, especially Russells, as all he does is laugh and mess around with his mates Matt Morgan and Gee. I feel like I know each character really well just from hearing them chinwag every week so it make the book much more exciting. I also ran into Mr. Matt Morgan himself in a pub last week and had to restrain myself from asking a million questions. I will endeavour to get both Matt and Russell into Switch one sunday evening in 2008 so we can all quiz them on their depraved antics.

Chris if you are reading this please can you put a link to Russell Brand's podcast so the lovely readers have a clue what I'm talking about.

I'll be back next sunday with Grimmy to catch up. In the meantime Happy christmas everyone and three cheers for Grimmy who did an amazing job on his own last week....xxxx

    Hey Chicka..
Mmm homecooked food has been dolloped on platters in abundance all around the world this ast week or so I imagine.
Personally, I'm getting to the point of wanting to puke as any kind of foody aroma passes through the air!
I'm a done tom turkey! Too much food, too much vodka and very new favourite, Disaronno! If you haven't tasted that particular alcoholic delight, I recommend you do! It's heaven in a glass.
I was gifted the Booky Wook for Christmas too.. isn't it ace?! Dunno about you but as I read the words on the page I can almost hear them coming from the man's moosh.
The opening paragraph slayed me.. where he talks about forced wankless nights and dental floss being used as a noose for somebody's famished winkle. LOL
Anyway, this was a longer message than I had planned.. but Happy New Year, Annie. Have a good one. x

Hey Miss Mac, hope you had a fantastic Christmas and a crammed NYE tearin' up the country with some crackin' DJ sets.

Did you happen to see Russell's doco on 大象传媒 four?, a homeage to the literary giant Jack Kerouac and 'On The Road'. He goes on his own coast to coast adventure with Matt Morgan seeking out some kind of true enlightenment. Its fabulous and I reckon (in my humble opinion) one of the best programmes on telly last year. If you haven't seen it you MUST seek it out. All the best for 2008 sweetie.
