According to in today's Media Guardian:

The relocation of the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s research and development centre at Kingswood Warren has been postponed "for an indeterminate time", the new ´óÏó´«Ã½ director of future media and technology told staff late on Friday.

BECTU has also issued a . has some taken at Kingswood on Friday.

"New Sony Walkman Plays Nice With iPlayer" .

The offers on the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s plans for adding video to the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s local websites.

And it was yesterday and much to my shame, I wasn't even aware it was happening. So thanks to Pravda for mentioning the Internet Blog .

Could we have a confirmation on how exactly this Sony MP3 player is supposed to work?

If the iPlayer files were syncable I could see it, but that has always been blocked otherwise it would also work on newer Windows Mobile devices, but the ´óÏó´«Ã½ deliberately disallowed syncing in the DRM.

Surely given the MP3 player doesn't have Kontiki running on it there's no way for it to acquire the licence?

Or is this just another situation where the ´óÏó´«Ã½ are allowing access to the iPhone h.264 streams (the article suggests otherwise, but it would make a lot more sense)? Which is moderately useful I suppose but not game changing.
