´óÏó´«Ã½ HD To Broadcast Michael Jackson Memorial Live Tonight
Hi All,
I want to bring you news hot off the press that ´óÏó´«Ã½ HD will be carrying the Michael Jackson Memorial live from LA tonight.
We'll be starting at 6pm, and will aim to stay with it till the close (expected at 7.30, but it feels like one of those things that could extend some way beyond that). , great music, and tributes from those who knew and were inspired by him. Do watch, and set your recorder if you can't get to your TV in time.
We will try to show it again over the weekend, but it is likely to be one of those moments you just want to be part of when they happen. Apologies too - I took the view it was worth displacing Doctors, but can promise a double bill tomorrow to compensate.
Danielle Nagler is Head of ´óÏó´«Ã½ HD, ´óÏó´«Ã½ Vision

I knew Sky was covering it, excellent news that you have taken the HD feed. Looking forward to the new season of Coast in HD. Do you have any info on Rivers which I saw in the preview this morning.

Ian

As well as being great drama - the picture on HD was lovely.

It would be good if the channel could repeat the broadcast at the weekend as i was unfortunate enough to miss the last 30 mins of the service :(

We are investigating why the EPG didn't update correctly. Can you let me know what time your recording finished as the EPG was updated more than once

Only thing is it stopped at 104 minutes therefore missed the rest. I've since been searching for a scheduled repeat but haven't been able to find one. Could you please organise a repeat as it seams a lot of people are in the same boat. If so could this be made public asap as i'm away for the weekend, i can make other arrangements.
Thanks
Chris

My sky+ lost signal due to the heavy rain and thunderstorms in the south east, I got to watch about 20 minutes so I'm devastated to have missed it. I don't have HD yet so can you please please repeat it on an SD channel as well. There are so many people who missed some of the memorial and are desperate to watch it.

I recorded it on my Sky+, but it cut off after 95 minutes. I was well gutted. Don't want to watch it online. Please give us advanced notice of when it will be on at the weekend. Thanks very much.

In commomn with the above posts, I would a re-airing please, in HD for the above people, but also on one of your Freeview channels for someone like me who does not have Sky. Many thanks indeed. :(

My sky+ did appear to update but still actually stopped recording at 104 mins just as the Heal the world song was finishing, so missed all the good bits at the end.
Are ´óÏó´«Ã½ going to show a repeat this weekend? on SD not HD or both as I dont have HD,
THANKS

Five did not show the full ceremony so ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two was the only chance to watch the memorial service in full on non-Freeview TV, and ´óÏó´«Ã½ HD the only chance to watch the service in HD for non-Sky subscribers. It's no wonder it was one of the most watched ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two programmes of recent times.
Thank you!

I have a Virgin V+ box and the EPG on that did not update so I had to manually record. I recorded for 2 hours from 6.30 to 8.30 so also missed the end. I have a Sky HD box in the kitchen which I can not record on (only get the F.T.A. chanels) and on that the EPG did change several times but obviously did not work properly for people wno tried to record.I have noticed before that the Virgin EPG did not update when there was a change in schedule but the Sky box did. Are you aware of this?

I am, and have been a huge MJ fan, all my life, like many others. And I felt privaledged to have witnessed his memorial service. But I am devastated that I deleted it.
Please repeat it. Emsg86

Now I know that many people may be looking forward to watching this, but I feel that maybe this could be pushed aside for a couple of weeks. Just so we can get to see a part of musical and life history played out again.
I truly hope you will repeat the service.
Thanks

Please please please please ´óÏó´«Ã½ - repeat this concert and make it public knowledge, even if it's on at daft o'clock so we can at least record it!!

At 9th Jul 2009, TheBertrum wrote:Clearly a LOT of interest in this. However, why did it need to take up huge chunks of the schedule on THREE of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ channels?
I thought that the idea behind the multi channel world was to give us choice in what we watch, so it makes no sense to take up so many channels with the same thing. Especially when so many rival broadcasters were also covering it, reducing our choice even further.
I can understand showing on both SD and HD, because everyone has to admit that HD is not available to anything like enough people.
But why ´óÏó´«Ã½2 and News24 (or whatever its official name is now)?
I would have thought that either it was important enough to be available on digital and analogue (thereby admitting that digital has not yet got sufficient coverage for the really important stuff), and so be on 1 or 2, or (since we are expected to believe that digital channels are serious and accepted by all of the public) shown only on a digital channel leaving the prime schedules unaltered.

I hope the Beeb don't mind me mentioning a different channel as we're all fans - the service will be repeated today at 11AM and 8PM (BST or GMT+1) on BET, which is Sky channel 191. It's also shown at 12PM and 9PM (BST or GMT+1) on BET +1, Sky channel 198. I'm recording as many showings as possible in the hope that weather won't mess up the recording again. Please circulate this as much as possible as there are many like myself that didn't get to see it and now have the chance.
