Ed's note (PM): The ´óÏó´«Ã½ iPlayer publicity team have released June's press pack along with some headlines. You can download the pack as a PDF: Publicity_Pack_June_2010.pdf.

  • In total the ´óÏó´«Ã½ iPlayer received 117 million requests for programmes across all platforms in June 2010, including both online platforms and devices and ´óÏó´«Ã½ iPlayer on Virgin Media TV
  • Other ´óÏó´«Ã½ Online sites received significant increases in traffic month on month, as audiences went online for coverage of events and the ability to stream live content from the World Cup, Wimbledon and Glastonbury ´óÏó´«Ã½ sites
  • The World Cup also delivered exceptional request numbers for both live and catch-up radio on ´óÏó´«Ã½ iPlayer in June, with the England v Slovenia game easily the most requested programme for the month by some margin.
  • Requests from mobile devices also increased another point, boosted by both live World Cup listening, and by the adoption of ´óÏó´«Ã½ iPlayer on iPad, which is already delivering 10% of all requests coming from portable devices
  • ´óÏó´«Ã½ iPlayer's most-requested TV titles for June continued to include Doctor Who, EastEnders and Junior Apprentice, plus new ´óÏó´«Ã½3 content Lee Nelson, Peckham Finishing School and Mongrels, and of course the England v Slovenia World Cup match.

Hi, I notice that Doctor Who, episode 9 isn't in the top 20 for either May or June. Presumably because it splits across the monthly boundary? Any chance of reporting it, please? (And presumably the same will be true of episode 13?)

iPlayer does seem to be a great success. However, I wish that the interface on some of the non-PC platforms was improved. I regularly use it on Freesat and it is very slow to navigate and find what you need. It is still called 'beta' on the access point - does that mean that a final version is still awaited - hopefully with improved speed!
