    Tess, looking forward to the Olympics and the ´óÏó´«Ã½ coverage... think the layout for the online pages, especially with the new 'favourites' addition is great.. The horrible histories karaoke not so much! The 2012 Olympics buildup has been amazing... especially enjoyed this I spotted on a South African blog last week... looks like the excitement is definitely global!

  • Comment number 2.

    The ´óÏó´«Ã½ schedule sounds comprehensive - can't think of anything more I would need... really looking forward to an exciting couple of weeks of sport (and lots of medals for the UK!)

    @Craig Smith - lol, loved the Olympics cartoon link... looks like the hype has certainly spread worldwide!

  • Comment number 3.

    Actually the Horrible Histories Karaoke sounds like way more fun than the Olympics... quite frankly can't wait for them to be over so life can get on back to normal in London.

    For all the news stories that the ´óÏó´«Ã½ spouted about security and other problems. How about getting their own house in order. Red button shambles. Wanted to watch some of the footie last night and NONE of the Red Button channels were working properly. And, radio times tells us that Olympic Radio is on Freeview Channel 723, it isn't Talk Sport are still there. Or, do we have to do ANOTHER rescan on Saturday

    Just curious, watching Olympics on red button but i would like to know what is that wonderful print they are showing of the London skyline? Where can I get a print of that? It's gorgeous!

  • Comment number 9.

    I am extremely disappointed with the lack of coverage on Freeview. After getting an on screen message telling me that I wouldn't be able to benefit from the extra Olympic channels unless I retuned my TV, I of course retuned immediately. The result? No extra channels whatsoever? Not one! How on earth can you justify that? I thought the whole point of digital channels was that you could have more channels across the same bandwidth? Just one or two of the Olympics channels would be better than nothing.

    Then, to have all the presenters tell me that I can see other sports just by pushing the red button just adds insult to injury. At the very least ensure that they add that this isn't available to Freeview viewers. How much effort does that take?

    This has completely soured the Olympics coverage for me.

  • Comment number 10.

    Very little of what you advertise is NOT available unless you have satellite or cable - your presenters do NOT say this.
    Pleasae make sure you give us the correct information

  • Comment number 11.

    im a bit confused. we dont have cable or satellite and we are getting all the extra channels on our box with red button

  • Comment number 12.

    It is utterly scandalous. Your rubric does not mention what you get on the Red Button on Freeview. I retuned all channels three times and still whenever I select the red button I am offered two Olympic events on the menu plus the other ´óÏó´«Ã½ channel (´óÏó´«Ã½1 or ´óÏó´«Ã½3). when you select the ´óÏó´«Ã½ channel it changes, but you can't get any other sport choices. It says "loading..." and then simply stops. IOW you get what's on ´óÏó´«Ã½1 and 3 and nothing else on Red Button except text. This is extremely disappointing. What is most frustrating is that it very much looks as though the ´óÏó´«Ã½ is embarrassed by the lack of coverage on Freeview Red Button and therefore isn't mentioning anything about it. The simple truth would have saved me a lot of time.

  • Comment number 13.

    @9,10, 12

    My Freeview TV has channels 302 and 304 as documented here that have additional olympics coverage.

    @13.

    Thanks for the info. :-)

    I had noticed (yesterday evening) that channels 301 and 302 had reappeared and now we occasionally get 4 choices on the red button instead of only 3. However, 2 of those choices are still ´óÏó´«Ã½1 and ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three so they aren't really extra channels at all.

    In addition, one of those channels often just gives a text message which tells me how to use the red button to get extra content, and selecting a specified sport from the list only rarely (about one time out of three so far) actually gives me the sport I wanted to watch. There was one point this afternoon when instead of the Live Tennis advertised I ended up with Live Judo. Which I wouldn't have been quite so upset about if the Judo wasn't also on one of the other channels. I can only assume that someone at the ´óÏó´«Ã½ is a complete Judo nut because it seems to be the number one favourite Olympic sport at the corporation.

    I will just have to reconcile myself to the fact that if I will not be seeing much of the sports that I actually enjoy these Olympics as I cannot afford the £70+ it would cost for a Freesat box to make it possible. I suppose I ought to just switch the TV off and go and do something more productive instead.

    Why can't I get the 24 streams on Freeview or BT Vision?

    Unfortunately, due to platform capacity issues we are unable to offer the 24 streams on Freeview or BT Vision. We have an Olympic stream available all day on channel 301, and we have added a second stream for the duration of the Olympics on channel 302 from 7pm each evening. In addition, for Freeview viewers, the channel 301 output is available in HD on channel 304.
