What's On ´óÏó´«Ã½ Red Button 13th - 20th October
Red Button Changes
On 15th October the video component of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Red Button on Sky, FreeSat and Virgin Media will be reduced from five to one stream, bringing it in line with the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s Freeview offer. We are doing this because these services rely entirely on linear broadcast technologies, which are not cost-effective for an interactive service like the red button.
This change in no way signals the demise of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Red Button. The ´óÏó´«Ã½ is committed to maintaining a vibrant and popular red button service. 20 million people a month press red on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ and our ambition is to develop the service and increase the size of our audience.
To find out more about the changes and the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s plans for the future of Red Button, which includes Connected Red Button, visit the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Internet Blog and the

Reducing to 1 stream is a step backwards. In the future, will major sporting events such as the Rugby 6 Nations, Wimbledon, British Golf Open?

As a high proportion of your sport watching viewers are senior citizens who won't necessarily have iPads at hand or unlimited broadband etc....wouldn't this be a good idea? it would also free up ´óÏó´«Ã½2 when major sporting events are on! The Olympic streams were brilliant in the summer, so why not just keep 1 of these for regular sporting events?

Now that there is effectively one stream, why not be bold and innovative and list everything that happens on it in chronological order? Maybe you could list the things (what you might almost call 'programmes' on 'the channel') and then put the times in chronological order at the bottom.

Wish the ´óÏó´«Ã½ would start a dedicated Sport channel - I wouldn't mind if I had to pay extra for it. ´óÏó´«Ã½ sports coverage is THE best, and it is a pity that the Beeb can't turn it into a moneyspinner. As for the whole web-TV thing: who wants to watch sports on a tiddly little computer screen?

You don't necessarily have to - I used to just plug my PC into the TV via the scart socket. My latest laptop has HDMI which also works. For those with Connected TVs some have applications to allow you to watch internet streams.
