Got a question for Lip Service actress Laura Fraser aka Cat?

Post categories: ,听

Dana Stevens | 13:45 UK time, Tuesday, 26 October 2010

We know that loads of you love our brand new drama Lip Service. And what's not to like? The drama follows the lives of a group of young lesbians living in Glasgow; there's crackling sexual tension, plenty of emotional baggage to unpack, as well as some very funny moments and some shocking ones too. (In a morgue Frankie? Really? If you don't know what I'm referring to go and watch Episode 1 on iPlayer now!)

Lip Service (Ruta Gedmintas as Frankie and Laura Fraser as Cat)

As you're as excited about this new series as we are, we thought we'd give you the chance to ask Laura Fraser, who plays confident architect Cat, any question you want about being in Lip Service.

Lip Service (Laura Fraser as Cat)

Perhaps you want to know how Laura ended up playing the part of Cat? Or whether she was worried about being filming the more raunchy scenes. Maybe you're curious about whether she has a say in what clothes her character wears? Or you want to know more about the filming process.

All you have to do is add your question here on the blog or on our . You can also send your question direct to our Twitter account .

Get your question to us by 10am on Thursday 28th October and we'll pick a selection of questions to ask Laura. We'll put Laura's answers here on the blog and on before next week's programme.

Don't forget you can see Laura Fraser in action as Cat in Lip Service at 10.30pm Tuesdays on 大象传媒 Three.

Add your question here.

I would like to ask Laura, that given she is 'straight' how can she play the role of a gay woman? Did Laura find it easy to play a gay woman, given that she is straight and has probably not experienced some of the issues that gay women face?

i would like to ask if she has ever had lesbian tendancies to play a part like so well as she came across as a good actress and plays the part well x

Hiya, love the programme but I think it gives the impression that lesbians are wandering the streets, looking very glamourous of course, leering at other woman, I have never experienced this. Perhaps I am unfortunate and need to move to Glasgow!

Like your character in Lip Service, would you get a tattoo with the person you're involved with or because they want you to? If so, what would you get?

Firstly I would like to say that I love the show and Laura is brilliant in it! I would like to ask Laura, is there any part of the character Cat that you have drawn from someone you know? Or is there a part of you in Cat? Thankyou.

Do you know you're about to become a lesbian icon? How do you feel about that?

    Hey Laura,
What made you feel as though you were filming "pornography" when you were filming? & would you feel the same way if it were "straight" sex you were acting out?
I'm just curious, because if I were an actress, i wouldn't personally tell the press that; it gives them (& others) way too much to 'feed' on, if you know what I mean...
anyhow, take care. And I respect you for taking the role... & I would like to ask, Would you consider taking part in a series 2???

Hi, I am really loving lip service and hope there will be more!. And I was just wondering have you ever thought that you might be attracted to the same sex, or gone through a faze?.. and really how hard was it to act as a "lesbian, whilst on set". Thank you, and i really hope there will be more of the program.

    Hi Laura, loving the show.
Is it true you had to read 'The Guide to Lesbian Sex' to prepare for your role as Cat and if so, what was the most interesting thing you learnt from it?

  • Comment number 15.

Hi Laura, knowing that you filmed and stared in lip service, do you get excited for the viewers knowing you know what's coming next? That could be a scene or next episode!!!

Are you aware that the Christian Institute have quoted you on their website as having said the following:

"Laura Fraser, who plays a character called Cat, said: 鈥淚 started to feel like I was making a porno film.

鈥淚t started to freak me out a bit. We were all freaked out. At the end of a day I was thinking 鈥榳hat am I doing for a living?鈥

鈥淎nd then I was going home to my six-year-old daughter Lila which felt very weird.鈥

    Have they misquoted you?

I really like Cat so I have a lot of questions I would like to ask, maybe some of them are interesting?

    1) Do you have any tattoos in real life?

    2) Did you only auditioned for the role of Cat e.g. did you also go for Frankie?

    3) Did you read together with Heather Peace when auditioning, because you guys have a great chemistry on screen?

    4) Your only about 5ft high, does it make things difficult when filming or does it sometimes has it advantages?

    5) Which personality traits do you like best about Cat?

    6) Which scene(s) did you enjoyed filming the most? Which did you dislike the most?

    7) How much does Cat pay for electricity, because she has so many lamps in her apartment?

    8) Merry, shag, throw of a cliff鈥

    9) What advice would you give Cat, if any? What did you learn from Cat?

    10) Did something unexpected/ funny happened when filming?

    11) Who would Cat be if she hadn鈥檛 met Frankie as a child?

    12) What kind of acting methods did you use for portraying Cat?

    Thank you for reading ;-)

    Hey Laura,
just wanted to say that im hooked on the show even though its only been 3 episodes!

im currently studying drama and theatre at A level and was wondering how and what you did to build up your character of Cat?

Who did you get on the best with on set?

Was there a specific reason why you wanted to do this series?

And i was also wondering just out of interest if there was anybody who you would like to work with in the future who would it be and why?

I would also just like to say I think your great in Lip service and thank you for taking the time to answering our questions as im sure you will have a busy schedule
    love tilly xxx

    Hello Laura,
On screen there's a lot of friction between Cat and characters like Frankie and Alistair and passion and friendship between Cat and characters like Sam, Tess and Jay, but, off screen do you all get along? Or are on screen tensions carried on off set?
