Large corporations appear to be controlling the actions of our politicians either by;
1) bribery (threatening to take jobs overseas),
2) collusion (offering them executive roles and consultancy work while they are in office or in advance of when when their term in office is over), or
3) lobbying.

We have seen that large corporations often want governments to act in inhumane ways to promote their profits (e.g. slackening regulations). It seems that any human benefit that comes from business is a by-product of it's main activity - profit. Can business become moral? Should the government represent humans or business?

I completely agree with Esther. People are very mis-informed about the scheme. Also why should people stay at home while getting benefits, they should be sent out to work doing whatever job is available. The government should use them to clean streets for example.

I would like to bring up 'KONY 2012'
This is a video that touched me right in the heart and i feel it needs to be discussed.
About 97% of the world doesn't know who Joseph Kony is, so i thought we should tell them what it means, to all those children in Africa, and to everyone else.

I am half way through the programme and already its the same old story.

I am 20 years old, and I could not find work for over a year after I left college, did I go on benefits? No, I worked to find a job and tried to set up a business (by the way I am far from a rich background, or have family in business), I had to get a boring bar job and was over a year until a found an apprenticeship in accounting.

Too many young people are just simply lazy and blame everyone else for not getting work. Fact is everyone thinks it is their right to earn £25,000 plus simply because they have a degree is 'sociology' and don't want to work a couple of years to reach a respectable wage. Maybe if some people went to do something practical rather than following the crowds to uni to essentially have a three year night out on the governments expenses then there might actually be some companies out there that will take more young people on.

All I have seen on this programme so far is people from East London, that look like gangsters and talk like gangsters, and then wonder why in a job interview they are not taken seriously!

I dont see what the problem is, theyre being given dole money,child allowance, travel expences and all the rest and theyre complaining that theyre being asked to do some work? then they moan that they cant get any work...

Im 22, worked hard at school and college, Ive worked since I was 14 and have never had a problem getting a job. It annoys me that people seem to expect a well paid job to be handed to them without them doing any work and have the cheek to complain when the government asks them to work for the hand outs they recieve.

No hand out should be free, in order to recieve them people should be told to work, whether its sweeping the streets or stacking shelves in tesco.

The poor are not punished, surely the people having 40% of their income taken to subsidize people doing nothing are the ones that are truly being punished?

I am 26 yr old single parent my son is now 6. I have worked since I was sixteen. I have been working these last years purely for my sanity and self esteem, as I am not better off, they say you be better off but I am not as they dont take in to consideration travel costs and childcare costs. My job has ended I am twenty pound better off but my emotional health is suffering. I feel like I cant win.. I have still had no luck with finding a job. I did not choose to be a single parent but I feel im really gettin a raw deal

We should make alcohol expensive in shops and subsidized in drinking establishments. This way it can be regulated at the point of drinking!!

I agree with Esther. The problem with the people of Britain is they love to complain. When you apply for your first job employers ask for work experience and we complain that they need to give us the experience in order to get work. This scheme with benefits is a way to open doors and develop yourself for the better instead of lounging at home smoking up

I agree with Esther, I think that the new scheme will help people gain more confidence and help people to get job they want. Big companies like Tesco should not be aloud volunteers to work for them. People need to work at smaller businesses, they really need the help. People have the choice to volunteer, I don't know what this whole slave thing is all about. I'm sick of people being lazy and living off the benefit, I'm not saying that everyone is lazy but the main reason why people don't want the new scheme is because they are not comfortable to get off the sofa and actually do something.

The media oppresses women. Ironically, The Sun newspaper celebrated 40 years of exposing women on page 3, and objectifying them, whilst it also claims that women, who cover themselves modestly in hijab are oppressed. The irony is disgusting!

Adam's comment about young people not wanting to ride London bikes because of the Barclays sign reflects the superficial attitude of Britain, how image is more important instead of their practicality.

Increasing the cost of alcohol will not change consumption, the same way addicts do not stop consuming even illegal substances! THE real solution is banning alcohol altogether but then again that's not possible since all the politicians and governments drink too! both me & my husband are both disabled and the price of food and utility bills go up and up but we get no extra help from the government.If this government got up of its arse and start exporting goods instead of importing this country used to be the best in the world,this government is doing nothing to help the young of today and making something of themselves.We both worked from the age of twelve doing any kind of work just make the country work again.

But I was forced onto a youth training scheme in the 80's & the torie's denied it then.

I agree with what Adam said about legalizing cannabis, the war on drugs has cost us tax payers millions of pound and has not effected the number of users at all. The only things that this has achieved is to brand thousands of people as criminals for smoking a bit of pot or green, and to push millions of british pounds into the hands of criminals.

About this afghanistan thing ; 1) There have always been wars and people have always died in those wars. Deal with it . 2) everyone knows the "liberation" of the arab states was for the oil . I think we need to think more about our nation's wellbeing instead corporate greed .

Why can't we hold our government to account... they are supposed to be creating a stable society for us to live in, and are failing abysmally... we all know it... many of us are saying it... and no one listens!

Adam wasted a lot of the show airtime with rash, judgemental comments that weren't thought through or well informed. This show has potential to give young people a voice which is really great but I am disappointed that the ´óÏó´«Ã½ did not encourage all of the panellists to bring interesting and considered views to the table.

As somebody who ended up in rehab at the age of 21 which alcoholism and addiction i feel i am more than qualified to comment on how price fixing booze will affect "problem drinkers". It will not affect how much people drink it will just mean more people will have to resort to crime to pay for it.

I am sick and tired of feminists "speaking out" for women. Especially when the issues are as trivial as lads mags. I am fully aware that my figure does not correspond with what is seen in that media as hot or sexy. Yes I did go through a period of self-consciousness when I was younger but that was nothing to do with lads mags, it was all to do with fashion and celebrity magazines, such as Cosmopolitan and Heat, telling me who was thin, who looked good, who looked bad and why. If a culprit must be indicated in print media, it is magazines like these who cause body-issues, not others.

Still, today I'm comfortable in my skin and I have zero problem with lads mags or porn or any of those things so villified in today's society. As long as the girls are happy and consenting, who is anyone else to tell them what to do? Their mother? For this so-called objectification to become a problem, there have to be deeper underlying issues. A man will not read a lads mag, see the models and automatically have less respect for women, leading them to treat them badly. It's insulting to the male half of the population to think so.

I think people underestimate the financial motivations behind these images;

The reality is that most women will never look like lads mag models as they don't have the same naturally shallow ribcage, narrow shoulders or facial features. Furthermore, these images are digitally edited to give the impression of flawless skin and to enhance features beyond what is humanly possible.
This happens in most magazines, not just lads mags, and particullarly (from personal observation) those aimed at women.

The government are bringing these pathetic plans to increase the price of alcohol in order to reduce the amount of drinking in our youth of today.....I wonder how much tax the government will take out of the extra money added and how much will actually be re-invested into scheme's that making the youths of today more aware of the health risks as well as the increasing anti social behaviour due to the "see who's the cooler person because I can drink more" attitude thats alll over this country!!!

I'd like one of the topics for next week's programme to be about University students. As a soon to be graduate, is there enough being done to prepare people to get a job or a foot in the door in their preferred industry once they leave?

Are there certain advantages/disadvantages for going to University? Seeing as this no longer guarantees employment! I personally am loooking to get into the media, but a lot of jobs are requiring you to have one years experience with no mention of a degree!

What frustrates me further about this problem is that it is near on impossible to get that years experience when you're not let through the door without it!

I definitely think this will be a hot topic to debate. To sum up, is there any point in going to University as it doesn't get you a job and do Universities prepare you well enough for the big wide world?

i'm a male and i saw the argument saying that lads mags treat women as sexual objects and make women feel self conscious but womens mags are just as bad. because i read heat and more magazine and they always have a torso of the week or a top five male of the week and everytime they put in a picture of a topless male they always mention how hot and sexy he is just like mens mags. and it always makes me feel self conscious. i felt the comments on the show were very onsided and i just wanted to say that some womens magazines are just as bad as mens magazines

As for Afghanistan, where would be all be if our ancestors took the same attitude as some of these idiots who say we should just get out and let them get on with it, go and study some history and you'll realise what happens if the sick minded barbarians who murder, rape, torture and mame innocent people because they don't believe in the same things they do. I'd like to see a topic on what people actually know about dementia, and Private care homes for that illness, People are unaware of the lack of care for certain familys and issues needs to be raised for these care homes, people ignore them because they are private. There is so much negligence for the eldaly people.

The care home system is so badly made up that trying to report an issues because a long grueling battle with many people to get a result, and to have no result pushed back in your face is so demeening, that you feel that the people you care for is being abused and you can do nothing!

Dementia sufferes have no chance of creating new memories and the memories they have are so precious to them, because they have no chance of creating memories people do not believe what they say and when you visit a patient with the illness and they say they was abused at night who are you to doubt the person you care for?

#3 I drink with friend once or twice a month. we share a bottle of vodka or JD..I feel we are getting penalized because a Minority of people can't or won't learn limits.they will be taxing sex next.
