Sunday Night Shopping List - 26/11/06

Post categories:

Fraser McAlpine | 21:27 UK time, Sunday, 26 November 2006

These are a selection of the singles which, if their record companies AND the record shops were all telling the truth when the list was compiled, should all be sitting in a rack at the back of your friendly neighbourhood CD shop as of first thing on the morning of Monday November 27th.

Bitter experience has taught us that some of the information in this list will prove to be inaccurate. Please feel free to offer corrections using the commenting system underneath this posting. Happy shopping!

THE FIRST SIX...
THE FRATELLIS 'WHISTLE FOR THE CHOIR'
COLD WAR KIDS 'WE USED TO VACATION'
JANET JACKSON FT. KHIA 'SO EXCITED'
THE ZUTONS 'IT'S THE LITTLEST THINGS WE DO'
LUPE FIASCO 'I GOTCHA'
THE KILLERS 'BONES'

Frankly, downloads - although a lot more fun in many ways - are WAY too hard to keep tabs on, cos what's the difference between the version of Muse's 'Knights Of Cydonia' which you could download as part of their album some months back, and the version you can now download as a single? Once you start thinking about this stuff, searching for an official release date for a download single starts to make your brain peel internally. So LEAVE IT, OK??

THE REST...
DAMIEN RICE & LISA HANNIGAN '9 CRIMES'
HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 'WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER'
NELLY FURTADO 'ALL GOOD THINGS (COME TO AN END)'
MUSE 'KNIGHTS OF CYDONIA'
GET CAPE WEAR CAPE FLY 'WAR OF THE WORLDS'
ALBERT HAMMOND JNR '101'
LOSTPROPHETS 'CAN'T CATCH TOMORROW'
FISH GO DEEP ft TRACEY K 'THE CURE & THE CAUSE'
LUKE THOMS 'LUKE THOMS' (EP) Official Site
JOSH RITTER 'GIRL IN THE WAR'
MASTODON 'THE WOLF IS LOOSE'
CHINGY 'DEM JEANS'
SANDI THOM 'LONELY GIRL'

Naturally, other singles are available. Why not tell us about one of your favourites which we've missed?

And if you do, try and endear yourself to as many people as possibly by pretending to be part of a musical artiste's 'Street Team' or something, only you're the one who is posing as a regular pop punter with no particular agenda except they, like, RILLYRILLY want everyone to know that they love a song, and the b-sides, and the poster that comes with the CD, and the free downloaded live version you can get if you buy the single and join an artist's exclusive web area. And you end with a LOL or a ;-) or a *swoons*, for extra added authenticity...

That ALWAYS raises a warm smile. Go on, have a go!

Haha, you guys always amuse me (for good reasons of course)... Just commenting on that it appears the Fratellis and Damien Rice have released the same song. Well, a song with the same name. I'm assuming they haven't, and I'm not expecting you to post this comment, just thought I should point out the slight error.

Anyway, i'm really starting to like this website, tis getting to be better than the old TOTP website, so it's all good! It's very active and everything, it's nice to see new stuff everyday.

Thanks for all the effort you put in, it's much appreciated!

[No, Nick, thank YOU! All fixed now... - Fraser]

I haven't been up to anything today. I can't be bothered with anything recently. Nothing seems worth thinking about. I haven't gotten anything done recently, but oh well. Not much noteworthy going on worth mentioning.
