Here's four albums which you might wanna put pre-order in for. They're out on February 5th

THE ONE YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR
Fall Out Boy - Infinity On High'Fall Out Boy - 'Infinity On High'

For all the guff talked about Pete Wentz and his empire built on the back of his internal battles, this album belongs to another member of the band. Step forward, Mr Stump, I mean you! From the epic balladry of 'The (After) Life Of The Party' to the barnstorming ramalama (with extra ding dong in the shape of Jay-Z on autopilot) of 'Thriller' to the funky-rock of 'The Take Over, The Break's Over', to the sheer pop rush of 'This Ain't A Scene...' (stop shouting. It IS pop, we've had it measured by experts), one man stands head and shoulders above all the others, and it's the one in the hat. Shame he can't sing "goddamn arms race" very clearly, but I guess you can't have everything...

'This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race'

BUY, BORROW OR BREAK
Buy. The poor fella must be EXHAUSTED...

THE ONE YOUR MUM WILL STILL LIKE IN A YEAR
Mika- 'Life In Cartoon Motion'Mika- 'Life In Cartoon Motion'

There's a lot to be said for Mika's fine pop-writing skills, his ever-elastic voice, and the blinding shine to which his debut album has been buffed. And to be fair, these are all things which have done the Feeling and the Darkness no harm at all. That said, listening to this in one sitting is like sucking up golden syrup through a chocolate straw for nine hours. Nice at first, but not all that healthy in the long run. Take it in small chunks, people.

Here's 'Grace Kelly'

BUY, BORROW OR BREAK
Borrow, until it all blows over.

THE ONE SOME PEOPLE WILL LOVE, AND SOME WILL HATE
Lady Sovereign - Public WarningLady Sovereign - 'Public Warning'

Speaking of controversial figures in the music world...here's a girl who, depending on who you listen to, is single-handedly making UK hip hop credible in the US, or is an annoying little titch with a big mouth, who seemed to have convinced a cloth-eared Jay-Z that she's any good at all. The truth is, if you don't like hip hop, you won't get this. And if you DO like hip hop, you won't necessarily be won over. But if you like brilliant one-liners, character, attitude, swagger AND hip hop, all coming from a munchkin with rage issues, you'll ADORE it.

'Love Me Or Hate Me'

Buy, or Break.
"Make way for the S.O.VEEEEEE!"

THE ONE YOU WILL LIKE, BUT YOU'RE NOT SURE WHY
The Hours - 'Narcissus Road'The Hours - 'Narcissus Road'

Imagine a sweary Keane, or a Coldplay with a nastier lyrical agenda and less of a thing about science. That's your starting block with the Hours. But there's so much more to them than being the next in a long line of Big Indie bands. They've got the tunes ('Back When You Were Good' is heart-breaking AND nasty, which is a tough sell, but the pull it off), they've got the hard-bitten wisdom of VERY OLD MEN, and they've got the intensity of VERY YOUNG MEN. Plus the hair of a VERY OLD WOMAN, which one of them wears in a chain around his neck for luck. Good luck, hopefully...

BUY, BORROW OR BREAK
Buy. And don't copy it off a mate either. They're only just starting and could use the support...
