Kate Nash - Busy Rascal...
When a pop star has their first massive hit single, things go a bit nuts. They may THINK they were doing a lot of interviews and telly shows and special appearances and stuff before, but this is nothing compared to the tsunami-sized wave of demands which wash over your newly-successful pop people from the second they wake until the second they get to sleep (almost exactly 24 hours later, ready to start again as soon as their weary heads hit the pillow).
Oh well, it's not like it's REAL work, is it? I only mention it as a way of explaining why this interview with the very lovely Kate Nash may sound a little strange from time to time. She was in a car on her way to...something important...and, as she said, she had had a coffee. These things are not always conducive to concentrating on what you're taking about...
What I Expected: A massive list of Oscar Wilde-level put downs...fun and games with drunken garage covers...some hints and tips on how best to while away the hours if you should ever be unfortunate enough to be in plaster...
What I Did Not Expect: A rubbish mobile phone connection...a hideous moment of confusion when it emerges that Kate has never heard of Chico...how Mark Ronson impresses the girls...

Here's that drunken birthday Luck & Neat cover version we talked about. It's not brilliant quality, but captures the moment, eh?
