Gallows - Frank and Steph highlighted

Frank Carter out of Gallows is a man on a mission. In performance, he comes across as one of those people who have elected to take a stand against almost everything which is bad, and the medium he has chosen to deliver this message is gnarly punk rock, played as if the world is about to end and every word could be your last. This is exactly the kind of person who, if you were sat next to them on a bus, you would want to avoid eye-contact with, in case a glance might trigger some kind of emotional confrontation, involving all of the swear-words in the world.

In short, Frank Carter is the perfect subject for a face-to-face ChartBlog interview, deep in the heart of Cornwall, where his band is starting a campaign of protest groundswell of outrage tour. Luckily for me, Frank is actually a very sharp and friendly fella, and his brother Steph is too (albeit a LOT quieter).

Gallows - FrankSo, here's how it all went. Mum's and dads, you'll be pleased to know the swearing has been edited out. Gallows fans, if you miss it, just shout out some of your favourite cuss-words every 30 seconds or so, and you're there.

What I Expected: Swearing...grumpiness...swearing...long rants about The Kids...swearing...total contempt for everything and everyone...
What I Did Not Expect: Frank Carter, the man who tried to leave Gallows on the first day they recorded their album...the annoyance of being corrected on your English by non-English-speakers..."this is the most fun I've had all day"...
