In The Absence Of A 'Best Pop Blog' Category...
...I am just going to HAVE to go to the Brit Awards again, and muck about backstage until someone pays attention and offers ChartBlog one of those nice silvery orange-juicers with the lady's head on. Surely we deserve it just for last year's coverage alone?
No? Well, WE SHALL SEE, WON'T WE?
Anyway, yes, we are once again saddling up the ChartBlog wagons and hitting the road, heading to the Brit Awards, and another night of backstage bloggery.
This is no small task when you consider we'll have to pack up the entire ChartBlog office, somehow transfer it half-way across the country and then set it up again in the middle of an enormous huddle of stressed-out media-types. I mean, granted, that's just a laptop in a bag (and possibly a camera) but still. Some of those cables are fiddly, y'know?
So, if you're of a mind to, keep an eye on all things ChartBlog tomorrow from about 6pm onwards. I'll be finding out stuff, and then furiously typing it up, and then probably missing other stuff while I'm typing, and then going off to find out what that stuff was, and then typing THAT up, and then maybe missing some more stuff while that goes on, and so on...it'll be a white-knuckle ride and no mistake!
And if that's not exciting enough, I bring you news of a potential Radio 1 presenter streak-fest.
It seems that Fearne and Reggie - of Radio 1's Chart Show, as well you know - have a sweepstake with their producer Stu on who will win the most awards tomorrow night. And for reasons which are best kept between the three of them, they have decided that the person who gets the least will have to, and I'm quoting here, "run the Chris Moyles Sport Relief lap of the studios in their underwear".
This is a prospect which is sure to quicken the hearts of...well...at least SOME of you, right? I mean you know what F&R look like, and Stuey's no munter either...er...anyway, here's who they've picked, and how many awards they are nominated for.
Fearne: Leona Lewis, Mark Ronson, Foo Fighters, Girls Aloud, Klaxons. (10 awards)
Reggie: Take That, Kanye West, Timbaland, Jamie T, Newton Faulkner. (8 awards)
Stu: Kings Of Leon, Kaiser Chiefs, Kate Nash, Rihanna, The Hoosiers. (9 awards)
You will notice that Reg is already at a disadvantage here, and that no-one picked Paul McCartney to win something. Unlucky!
