The Chart Show (Plus DVD Extras) - 26/10/08

Scott MillsThere has been a shocking change in the Chart Show this week. And I'm not talking about the No.1 slot. Unless by 'No.1 slot' you think I mean the plum job of presenting the nation's favourite chart rundown, and becoming part of a tradition which has been in place since before your parents were even conceived.

In which case I AM talking about the No.1 slot, because Fearne and Reggie are officially Not Here This Week. And Scott Mills is.

Listen, here he is talking to Kimberley from Girls Aloud about a nice thing which happened to them today.

You may have noticed Scott sounding at times like he is stuttering, or remixing himself in the manner of the old skool rappers, starting sentences several times and generally acting like his voice is being controlled by a computer with the plug hanging dangerously loose from the wall. This is not any lapse of ability on his part, merely a good trick to get the best edited interview in the end. Naturally, as these interviews are in the spirit of DVD Extras, I've left all that stuff in. So no sniggering, OK?

=======================================

And having got used to this little verbal tick of Scott's, you may find that the following interview is defined less by the crazy things he says, and more by the fact that Guru Josh is...what's the word? Crackers? Yes, I believe that will do nicely.

=======================================

And, last but not least, lagging but not flagging, tardy but not mardy, here is Top 5 High 5

Top 5 High 5

All you need to do is answer 'High 5!' if you approve of this week's Top 5, and 'Denied!' if you don't.

And here is that Top 5 once again in talkywordingform...

1: Girls Aloud - 'The Promise'
2: P!nk - 'So What'
3: Guru Josh Project - 'Infinity 2008'
4: Kings Of Leon - 'Sex On Fire'
5: Razorlight - 'Wire To Wire'

Here's the Top 40 in full...
