Black Eyed Peas - 'I Gotta Feeling'
I have just had the most AMAZING idea for a film. Who wants to hear it? All of you? Marvy.
So, it's set in the future, although not too far, otherwise you'd have to have the people evolving extra ears and stuff. I'd be tempted to set it in 3008, just so we could see if Fergie is SO that year or not, but actually, I'm thinking maybe closer to 2109, because who wants to have to invent 1,000 years of popular slang? This way, the dialogue is easier to write and we won't need the subtitles.
The plot is a bit like Terminator, in that human things have been replaced by robot things - for example, you don't even have to take tissues when you go and see a drippy movie, there's a robot there who will do the crying for you - and the humans are feeling a bit lost in this technological wonderland.
(. It is not as good as my film, so ner.)
Some of them have formed primitive communities which are outside of the gleaming, metallic cityscapes. They live in caves and mud-huts, and housing estates, wearing clothes which have been handed down from previous generations, and the haircuts of a bygone age. And they like to sing to each other around a roaring fire, while hitting a log with a stick. They sing songs of hope and community, songs which make them feel close to one another, and songs of looking up at the sky and opening their eyes.
Then, one day, a talent-probe - The Cowellator 3000 - is hit by a little meteor, and damages its tracking circuitry. Lost, it finds itself passing one of these communities, and hears one of these songs. Overcome by strange feelings of bliss, he records the singing, and takes it back to the city, where he intends to polish it up and sell it.
The only trouble is, in order to bring it up to the standards set by the Robotic Musician's Union, he has to replace most of the noises made by humans with noises made by machines, and this robs the song of a certain amount of its human charm. The Cowellator is confused as to why he can not re-create his bliss under laboratory conditions, and is troubled by strange new feelings of inadequacy.
His dilemma is made worse when the song goes on to be a massive hit all over the world, and he isn't sure why. The final scene sees the Cowellator wandering the wastelands outside the big cities, humming robotically to himself
This song, being a cyborg of Snow Patrol-style epic indie and slick modern machine-tooled pop, will either be THE song...although it's pretty good, so maybe not...or the song they play at the end, during the wandering and humming bit.
Now, all I need is a finished script, some actors, and several million pounds...

I bought The E.N.D on iTunes and took it to the gym with me. I remember feeling very disappointed when I got home. I had just spent £7.99 of my hard earned cash on an awful, awful album.
All I had known of The E.N.D before I downloaded it was Boom Boom Pow, which remains fantastic. It was the first song I listened to, and lead me to an incredible anti-climax.
The album seems to implode in on itself, song after song, same after same.
I then discussed the album with a friend who convinced me I had to listen again to I Gotta Feelin' - Reluctant at first, I listened and loved it.
Then I saw the video and I loved it even more (I wish all my nights out were like that!!)
In my opinion, this is a 5 star song.
Alls I'm left wondering now is, what will their next release be? I have a feeling it'll be Ring A Ling, but I hope to god it's not.

It is a song that has the quality of having appeal to a lot of people.
I am sure it will be a big hit all around the world !
It's a dancefllor monster , and as soon as it comes on in a club , the vast majority get mad for it.
It is catchy and so full of hooks you could go fishing for days.

I think I said on the JLS posts that the next number one after them , would be Black , Hudson , Calvin or Dizzee .
Poor old Mr H , got pretty close , now it's the turn of The Black Eyed Peas as I gotta feelin gets a physical release.
It's a popular song , it's being played on most t.v and radio stations , and I reckon it could topple the Beat Again boys.
Will this be the second NUMBER ONE in a row for The Black Eyed Peas ?

Great beat, great lyrics (simple, direct, not stupid), more hooks than a Sarlacc's mouth.
Now, if we could just get rid of the vocoder or whatever it's called...

Ok so its catchy. Much like their last sing its very repetative and not exactly going to win any awards for originality of lyrics. The corus reminds me of another song that I cant think of, because this one is so firmly rammed into my brain after only 2 listens. Ugh Im not gonna pick all the lyrics apart, but give em a good listen and Id love to know how long it took them to write.
I mean come on? This does not warrent being the massive pop smash its going to be.

Something that we can all relate too!

The Beatles might have a little chart success ?
District 9 might be number 1 soon in the uk BOX OFFICE ?
Shakira's She Wolf might be a top ten hit ?
The funny thing is , the first time I heard I GOTTA FEELIN , and realised it would be massive about 3-4 months ago , was on UNREALITY SHOUT !

Another fantastic single , at least 4 stars , with a superb chorus sang by Fergie !
Really good song , that is a big hit already on TV and at radio , and soon to be in the charts.

Interestingly, Fearne is doing a search atm to find the best. Currently through, from what I remember -
Katie Perry - Electric Feel
JoJo - Times like these
Jamelia - Numb
Paramore - Use Somebody
Palamore Faith - Sexy Minx/Chick
Artic Monkeys - Love Machine
Its a strong list! Think I missed a few off. Still on-going. Leona Lewis - Run is probably going to stomp it though isnt it?
