Jay Sean ft. Sean Paul & Lil' Jon - 'Do You Remember'
When the charts were first changed to include download sales, certain cultural commenters thought this would be bad news. They fretted that most songs would appear one week, then disappear the next, because they'd been on a popular TV show or something. Or that old, popular acts like the Beatles would dominate the Top Ten every week, or that every time a new hot album came out, all the tracks would chart, and there would be no room for genuine one-off hit singles which are just singles.
Of course, with notable exceptions, most of this turned out to be just a load of horse-hickey. In fact, if you're the kind of person who still pines for the olden days, you'll be pleased to know that one of the most positive effects of including downloads has been the return of songs which slowly creep their way up the chart.
This is a prime example. No.52 a few weeks back, then No.23, then No.15, then No.13...and it's not even in the shops yet!
(. Fellas, hoping to make an impression on a certain girl this Valentine's day? Why not consider a block party, with tricycles?)
And why? Well it's partly Jay's pretty little nursery rhyme melody. Sticks in the head like a spoon in a trifle. It's the kind of cute, repetitive tune which can be mucked about with fair considerably without spoiling. This allows Jay's new bezzie mates Sean Paul and Lil' Jon the chance to, respectively, throw in a few namechecks and sing a middle eight, or wheeze their own name like a tramp. And there's space at the end for a lot of melismatic wailing through a yodel-vocoder. Everyone loves that.
The string sample is a touch of class, as befits the romance intended in the lyrics. And Sean Paul's man voice adds a certain weight to proceedings that Jay's whisper-soft squeak sometimes fails to bring. This is where friends can really help you out.
Of course, in real life, should you find yourself begging your ex for a chance to turn back the clock and bring back the good times you used to know, take a tip from me. You may find 'the moment' could be slightly ruined if you let your mate with the metal teeth repeatedly shout "BRING IT BACK!" at her, in an angry fashion.
I'm no expert in romance, but I feel this will not aid your cause, even if you are as hot as Mr Sean.

Speaking of the Download generation that we are currently in, it's amazing to see how quickly YOU'VE GOT THE DIRTEE LOVE has risen in the charts since it's release today. 11:00 - no.9, 1:30 - no.5, 14:50 - no.2 pretty impressive!

Hugely I'd say !

However, I do find this song more bearable than DOWN. Jay Sean though sadly has no originality ever since he cracked America.

To start with, Jay Sean is not at all original. He only ever does what's been done before, so it's hardly going to be unique. And it's not like he's copied something that was done a few weeks or even months ago - 'Forever' was released in 2008.
As for Lil' Jon... we know he can shout, we know he likes his name-checks; he's like Gordon Ramsay: We know he can swear, we know he can cook.... what is he still doing on TV?
And Sean Paul, yes he makes the track bearable and stands out from all the flimsy 'My-voice-box-produces-a-sound-so-pathetic-it-would-fall-out-if-I-really-sang' vocals provided by Jay Sean, and that ridiculous 'I-actually-talk-like-this' bellow of Lil' Jon, but as I said, it just falls short of expectations... expectations of Mr. Paul that is, not Mr. Sean, he lives up to my expectations of him.
So I'd give it two stars: one for Sean Paul, and one for the fact it isn't a Jay Sean ballad.

It just sounds like any other of his annoying, slightly auto-tuned nursery rhymes.
Oh and i think the pre-chorus is the same as Alesha Dixon's Breathe Slow. I dont see why thats important though.

Do people listen to the charts because it's Reggie , or because it's the worldwide premiere of the official singles chart , that a lot of music fans are interested in ?
Quite frankly , if you had a chartshow presenter that spoke enthusiastically about the music , then Radio 1 chartshow would gain more listeners .

It was like expecting something really exciting and ... worth it, like what is usually the result of sex. But if nothing ends up in the condom, then it's a wee bit embarrassing. Big 'O' anyone?
So yeah, I think the song is a bit of an embarrassment to them all really.
Hope that cleared it up, read it quick because it'll probably be removed. :L
