NOT FOR NAMBY PAMBYS
Woke up this morning on my own sofa...
Feel like I've been hit by a bus, sideways. Other people in my flat also. They seem quite nice though.
My goodness me, what a to do.
Again, slept like a buddha.
Two lovely girls in the flat, apparently they slept in my bed, whilst my friend BIG KEV, slept on the other sofa.
Now they have all left.
Tell me about your night, be more candid, it's all getting far too safe and cute.

Loved your posts today, loved them. So much more compelling, we've moved on my friends. Life is so exciting, we're all exactly the same and up to all our own stuff, with people that we love and with our friends. I'm so happy for you, when I hear what you've been up to it makes me warm inside. It almost gives me butterflies. I just want to be with you all. I can't tell you how inspiring it is. And so many new posts today, welcome, welcome, welcome.
I sometimes panic because there's so much fun to be had.
Just finished working on tonight's show. It's going to be an absolute cracker. SHANE WARNE live in the studio and a load of sausages and white bread for food THURSDAYwith our NIGE.
By the way f 38 is lying, there was no funny business last night, none whatsoever. I can't do the two anymore, I don't have the energy. The fun wins over the nookie and GUILT FREE, I used to dread getting "THE FEAR"
Ok ok ok, focus, focus, shower time and then show time. I am the luckiest boy on the block.

slept 12am to 715 for the 2nd time in a year. in fact two nights in a row.
wonderful
for nearly 363 days previous to that i wake up anytime between 3am and 6am with a yorkie wanting to leave his bedroom and come into ours.
it took 363 days but he's finally twigged.
i hope :-(
Sounds like an ace night.
Mine....? Very very dull. Home from work about 7. cooked dinner. ate dinner. watched telly. went to bed at 9 o'clock. the end.
Saving myself for the weekend - off to see robbie on friday - soooooo excited.

Fooball football football....
Manchester United are looking a bit tasty... That grates on me to say that as a Villa fan but I appreciate the quality!
Then to bed and up @ 6am for a spinning class in the gym... So now sat at work trying to do anything but the what I am supposed to be doing... Dehydrated as well... Off to the kitchen for plenty of water!
Have a great day and enjoy 'Thirsty Thursday'!
ps. alwyas look left then right and then again and cross!
i had a quite night nothing really soz and all that
but this morning a letter arrived and it's a job interview in a week and a halfs time.
just what i needed good news
yippee hope i get it cross fingers
I had a very quiet night. Unlike some. For example, a friend of mine called this morning sounding a little distressed. Apparently she'd been on a wild night out drinking pink champagne and had woken up this morning not quite knowing where she was. As it turned out, she was in a stranger's bed, albeit minus the stranger. He was on the sofa. Fortunately I was able to lend a hand and provided her with a new top and a shower so she didn't turn up for work looking too bedraggled. And as an added bonus, the stranger now wants to marry her or at the very least woo her with flowers and dinners. All in all a pretty good night I would say. For her. Not me.
Tart!
Fancy waking up and not knowing who the two girls in your bed are. Thats bad. Or perhaps you know very well who they are but your just not telling us.
I hope your going to give more details later.

We drove to the shops to find them all closed, (depsite been advertised as open till 9!). Then headed into our village for some food - only to find that one was booked till 10 and the other's had been replaced by Indian restaurants!!! Which were all closed!
Tired, hungry we retired home - - for a fry up without the frying...yummy...best sleep of the week too :)
Moral of this tale: if you want to be fed, sometimes it's best to stay at home
Candid - ok you asked for it!
I went out on the town. Always get chatted up - but I never find them interesting.
Then I met a famous radio 2 DJ, out with his mate BIG KEV.
My friend, BIG BECK, and I couldn't believe our luck. (ps I'm 5"1', blue eyes, fair hair, size 8 waiste down, size 12 up top DD's!). We chatted, we laughed, we drank, we chatted, and we laughed and laughed.
We couldn't remember when we had had such a good night - it was fantastic. I'm still smiling - don't remember how, don't remember when - but BIG BECK and I ended up in this famous DJ's bed, whilst he slept on the sofa! Honest - well - I think he did!
We giggled when we woke up - and then remembered we needed to get to work. We, a little embarrassed, made our apologies - thanked the lads for a great night - and left.
Will they call or e'mail us - we ask?
So Terry - give us a call! We're waiting.
2nd blog as totally forgot I needed to ask for some advice or ideas...
My girlfriends birthday in November and not sure what to get her... Its our first year together and she bought me James Blunt tickets for my birthday...
Relly could do with a few ideas....

Morning Chris and Bloggers,
A sad day yesterday. It was the last day of my work buddy, shes going back to Spain on sunday. Eventhough I shall see her today and for final drinks on Friday it seemed too final to say goodbye [which I hate doing anyway I can cry at the drop of a hat]
Had a great evening though, went to my slimming class and have lost two and a half stone. Came home really happy and had a glass of wine to celebrate! got to stay positive for the other two stone.
Have you decided on the new house yet?
Love and hugs
Lisa xxxxx
Bet you're glad you don't have the breakfast show slot......
By the way, my 5 year old thinks that your jingle is a rip off from the music in "The Incredibles" - well she didn't put it quite like that - she yelled from the back of the car at 5.05 yesterday "OY! That's The Incredibles!". Is it?? (at least I pressumed she meant your jingle and wasn't just commenting on the talent of the drive time team? But then.......)
Hi Chris and Fellow Bloggers! Daughter and I drank some wine last night before and with our tea - much to Husband's disapproval as we are supposed to be on the wagon Mon-Thurs, but it was just one of those nights! Then slept well, apart from the wierdest dream - I was staying with Mick Jagger in his house, I seemed to be helping his wife with something or other to do with the children (of which there were many), he was living in Shetland Isles - and of course being a dream, I thought it all quite normal! I kept calling her Mrs Jagger..... Anyone out there explain that one!
Thanks to all Bloggers for their kind posts about Marvin, too numerous now to check off names, but you are all very nice people I think!Hope this is not too safe or cute........probably is on re reading it. love Jeannie ;0)
Bloody Doctor Who!!!!!
The good Doctor kept the whole house up last night, because my daughter saw the Richard Wilson episode, you know the one with the gas masks 'Are you my mummy?'.
Lost count of the amount of times the hall light was on and off, my son doesn't like the hall light on.
By the way the are Twins, go figure.
Maybe I should have warned the wife about that episode, it's scared the beejesus out of me, never mind children.
Early night.... (wanted to get to the office early - she who must be obeyed is back today and i still have a backlog of work) read john peel book for a bit .....nodded off....was woken by the milk float at very ealry o'clock ....nodded off again.
Alarm went off at 5.30 in the office by 7 (kind of hoping that it would be an early blog - so that i could get my fix before starting into paper mountain)
That's it ....v v boring indeed but peel book (margrave of the marshes) is excellent (mick wall john peel book is also worth a read)
Anthony Bourdin books as recommened by another blogger yesterday also good.

Morning Chris and the bloggers...
Mmmmmmwah! ... ( with hint of tongue)
Well it sounds like you had a fun time last night.........
Nothing too exciting at our place last night........we're still decorating......... we did have a thumb war to decide who would clear up but that turned into a polyfilla fight, which I lost rather badly ....... it ended with us in the shower together..... ......not as exciting as it sounds ... it's not a huge shower.........he managed to stand on my broken toeooooooooowwwwwwww!!!!!!.... so he was ejected until I was done...... ... after that it was all lovey dovey on the sofa wrapped in just my yoga blanket while we watched a bit of TV before calling it a day.... ... the alarm on the house across the road went off at 3:15 am ...............the place was lighted up like a Christmas Tree.........had a look but couldn't see anything .... suspicious .......the alarm stopped after a few minutes.............
Keep smiling
Rachel

Well done darling child... wow! namby pamby that's a word from my childhood... O.K... that's cool & I'm grown up & brave... I woke up at 3a.m on the couch... & there were empty bottles of wine on the old laundry basket with a glass top that is my coffee table... that you may see one day!... Venetian glass ashtrays overfilling... lots of Rizla's & Golden Virginia... the evening had started with mates dropping by... we had left over stew & mashed pots... played Scrabble... have just rediscoverd the joy of playing... I remember watching Band of Brothers... I'm up-to vol 5... love it... brilliant... it was just one of those spur of the moment get togethers... just rock & roll & easy... & I'm glad you like a good old Jackie Collins now & again, stay cool... ciao ciao.
spent most of the evening out in the most AMAZING thunderstorm down in the depths of Surrey - afraid you missed it Mr Evans but for those of us who occupy the small villages near godalming all week as well at weekends we had the most spectacular evening.
the rain was heavier than a power shower and the thunder / lightning were AWESOME. I was standing in the rain, in my t-shirt and flip flops, completely drenched, watching the clouds do battle for HOURS!
we should all take time to enjoy the rain - it is wonderful!
Hope your sheets were fragrant chris!!
My evenings are seldom wild now, all i did was cook the most delicious roast lamb dinner accompanied by some homemade crabapple and mint jelly and of course a nice bottle of rioja!!
That could be classed as fairly wild for a wed eve i suppose!!
Have a good day in blog-land today fellow bloggers xxxx

best go feel rough and need to work. wish you were here to make me laugh - cause you are very funny you know on the radio!
lots of love juliexxxxx
Hey Chris, sounds like you had a great night - but can you remember any of it? Love evenings that just develop rather than are planned to death. Always new people to meet etc etc etc
My night much more sedate - spent in pub with 2 best friends - I went out with one of them for 6.5 years, 10 years later and he and I are still great mates! Too much wine so a bit fuzzy headed and just been to the gym so I now look like a fuzzy headed tomato!
However, tomorrow I will drive 170 miles to spend the weekend with my man. Who, 20 years ago was my English teacher! Long story, suffice to say I guess the right people turn up at the right time.
Job hunting today - yuk. Know anyone who wants to employ a Marketing bod who swears like a trooper, laughs like a drain, smokes like a chimney and drinks like a fish but otherwise is very ladylike??? And what is it with all those sayings - whoever heard a drain laugh? I also have a very loud sneeze - have been known to silence a restaurant, much to the amusement of friends!
Must be off to pretend to be very professional. Help!!!
Looking forward to the show later. J
Took day off to wait for a new washing machine to arrive anytime between 830 and 1700:-( It arrived at 945! So thats me down to the pub this lunchtime for a couple of snifters!
Hey!
Misread an email from uni. Ended up typing part of a report 'til 3am, then realised I'd already finished what they actually wanted last week. Dumb moment!!
Caffeine intake prevented sleep until 4.30 then woke up at 7 when binmen came.
Hoping to see the back of my eyelids for longer tonight.
SB :-)
p.s what do you mean by being far to safe and cute?
explain please my brain at home today
p.p.s i had a dream that you and me and lots of other people were on a creative arts type course and we walked along a harbour to get to the class. there was a girl there who you fancied and she was younger than me and really pretty and i was trying to convince u to go out with me and not here as i thought i had more experience than her - as in older!!!?? what is that all about???i think you went off with her in the end -boo hoo!

After a 12 hour shift on a school night there is not much to tell!
Think you will have to wait til Monday for some juicy tales.

Other half out till late so earlyish night for me. Woke several times as long legged lurcher kicking me and small legged lurcher laying on my legs. There is nothing better than waking up to a silky long dog head laying on your pillow snoring!
Small lurcher protected me from monster spider last night . One snap and it was dispatched.
Mornin Christophe, Mornin all.
After a great ride on my horse, it was off home.
Collected my washing in from the line (thankfully before a huge thunderstorm), had a shower and cheese and biccies, then fell asleep in front of the TV!!!!!!!!!
Now that IS boring/sad eh????
Chris, you neglected to mention why you had to sleep on the sofa. Not that I am nosey, but, I think we would all like to know why this was.....
Melanie C
Hahaha! Bad head Chris? awwww.... sounds like a good night though!
Last night - date night with my man... lovely meal, lots of wine then lovely bed. Not that interesting but lovverleeeee none the less...
More interesting was last Saturday - a fantastic night round ours with many many great friends. Woke up sunday (my birthday) with a MASSIVE headache and a MASSIVE-R red wine stain all over our (cream) carpet... a whole bottle pretty much - looked like someone had been murdered! I must have been on the ball coz I stopped my man pouring the rest of the box of white wine all over it, instead I poured all of our best organic sea salt all over it... which I cant remember...
So last night when trying to cook an amazing meal, "erm...Kyleigh... wheres all the salt?" ..."I dunno.."
"Yes you do, you poured it all over the stain...hahaha!"
Couldnt remember a thing... not a flicker.
Ah well its only SALT!!!
Do YOU remember anything about last night Chris?
Shiny Happy Thursday to all lovely bloggers

it was my niece's 18th birthday yesterday, so 8 of us headed off to the best local chinese restaurant. the group consisted of birthday girl, birthday girl's mum, dad (my brother), sister, auntie, uncle, grandma and grandad.
As normal everyone was late apart from birthday girl's dad which amazed everyone as he is normally so laid back he is horizontal - never been one for convention and has often turned up at ours 3 days late!
I had been in earlier to prepare the table with confetti and cards, and load it up with presents. Taking our seats, drinks topped up and menu decision left to me we started on the 'do you remember when', hoping to suitably embarrass birthday girl. It appears this is quite easy to do. Then it was present opening time.
A deluxe, full day make over with hair cut, manicure, facial, photo shoot and so much more from Auntie and Uncle - now, birthday girl is a stunner, really drop dead gorgeous but she takes some convincing and won't have a photo taken so maybe she will see what the rest of us see with the photo at the end of the day.
From Grandma and Grandad, a GHD travel bag with loads of products, brushes and of course so oh so essential straighteners. Not sure who reacted the best to those - birthday girl or birthday girl's mum both took a sharp intake of breath and a look of total astonishment and pleasure!
From Dad a very nice Zippo which we are currently running a book to see how long before birthday girl loses it. My money is on before the weekend!
From Sister a fab cuddly teddy bear carrying big birthday cake and wearing party hat. The obligatory AAhhhs were uttered by the girls around the table while the guys looked at us with that 'Why???' look they so often get.
And from Mum - a drum kit! Ok so she hadn't wrapped the whole kit, just the drum sticks and had promised delivery for this weekend. Now Uncle's face lit up - always wanted to play the drums and make even more noise than normal. Said drum kit will be set up in grandma's and grandad's house so there could be some tension in the following weeks as Uncle gets in from work at around 3am and will be wanting a bit of a bash to help him relax.
Anyway, birthday girl was happy and the horse dervs arrived, followed by crispy duck and then about 8 different dishes for everyone to try - except veggie dad who filled himself up with seaweed, cucumber and loads of veggie stuff in really hot sauces.
Birthday cake was brought out, lights switched off and a really bad version of Happy Birthday being sung by us. Big explosive party poppers made a right mess and ended up in drinks, down tops, in other diners dinners - just about everywhere.
A good night was had by all, though not particularly raucous.
up this morning to take birthday girl to work. She was a little bit late, and was faily quiet in the car. Maybe Peach Schnapps and malibu don't really mix??
Who were you with last night, under the pale moon light.
Well I finally sorted a problem on my pc which was preventing me from downloading my video camera. So I sent a short clip, to a virtual friend of a few years who I still don't really know who is.
The clip is of a museum in Italy which is home to wax works of dead body parts. These were made from original grave robbed bodies.
I then had a peek at the message boards to see what drivel was being posted by the complaints brigade. That Major Tom or Space boy is a mischief
Listened to a bit of Marlene Dietrich's Falling in love again ( not sure why)
Then went to bed with a cup of cocoa.
Typical as I hit post to send this to yesterday’s blog look what is here when my screen refreshes? So I will post this to the new one as Chris seem to have had a less than perfect nights sleep as well :-)
I am tired this morning as for some reason we had a power cut (it appeared to be most of Somerset) last night a about 11 o'clock……..no problem you would think well that would be the case if when at 3 this morning and the power returned the house lit up like a Christmas tree. I spent 10 minuets going around turning off TV’s, lights and computers that were wiring back into life only to be thrown into darkness again for another 15 minuets. My Jack Russell puppy (Name, Murphy aged 15 weeks) thought it was time to play. All was eventually returned to normal except…………..I had forgotten to change the alarm clock beside the bed………..yep the alarm was set to on and it woke me at 4:30 am. Now I am the wrong side of 40 to not get a good night sleep and be sociable the next day.
Too much noise at work to sleep, so I think I will have to go out this afternoon to a meeting and not come back until tomorrow.
Keith
Oh Chris......a very poor effort.
There's me logging in for my morning's inspiration......
I guess angels can't sing all the time. x
I spent most of last night on my sofa watching that amazing storm. Haven't seen one like that for donkeys. Fell asleep and was woken by my son coming in at midnight. Had a pint of cider and a catch up with him then went to bed. zzzzz
Woke up thinking it's Friday and sent texts asking mates what time we're meeting in pub tonight. Then felt really disappointed that it's only Thursday and nobody wants to go to the pub tonight. A bad start to the day.
Popped out of office to get milk just now and got a wolf whistle from a bloke in a white van - at least I think it was for me! Changed my mood completely! I haven't heard a wolf whistle in years. Do blokes still do that stuff or are they scared to now? I'm not exactly 'totty' but I'd be more than happy to have one every day. Call me old fashioned......x
Have a happy THURSDAY,
Debs xxxxxx
P.S. According to my Woolworths issue Birthday Book I share my birthday with Buddah. Must be trye. Explains why I have such a big tummy......! x
Mornin Christoph and fellow bloggers!!!!!
Jennie #17 - I too watched the most wonderful lightening storm last nite, in my t-shirt and flip-flops (how spooky is that!!!) Did stop short of dancing naked in the rain tho - did not want to frighten anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!
Went to bed after the thunder stopped around 11ish, half way through my book - reading about Ghandi - if only the world could have listened to his teachings about non violent protests we might be a better place...............
Awake at 4.30am - had to let cats out....had been hiding from the storm.....the cats not me..........then laid awake thinking about turning my bed around....have recently decorated and not sure the bed is in the best posistion (so to speak) if any bloggers could tell me which way it should be i.e north-east-south-west I would love to kno - not sure I am happy where it is......peaceful sleep is evading me at present
Anyway Chris - 2 yes 2 girls in your bed - Mange Tout..... Mange Tout.... - if only I could wake and find Bono in my bed......oh well a girl can dream
Luv to all

My memory (or fantasy) is coming back to me.
I now remember sneaking into the kitchen for a glass of water when said famous DJ did the same thing...
The kitchen surfaces were the perfect height, it was an unexpected moment... The breakfast table was also the perfect height, but the kitchen floor was a bit hard - bruises on my knees!
Needed some more water!
Oh well - back to reality.
Went out with a couple of mates of mine on Tuesday. We hadn't done it for a while, so had a particularly good evening. We decided that we must make more of an effort to get out, so spontaniously started the "Once-a-month-club" although my wife started a similar club five years ago. The rules are simple, we meet once a month and we all take a turn bringing somebody with us. It must be a girl and she can't be mad. Watch this space. Two highlights for me was a) bumping into the Cheeky Girls, what lovelly ladies, so mis-understood and they're not that cheeky at all. Second highlight was standing around the piano in the middle of a very high-profile members club, singing Billy Joel songs generally and a very heart warming rendition of Fraggle Rock.
When there are highlights, by nature there has to be lowlights. This has to be banging on the door of a drinking establishment in Brixton at 2.30 in the morning and requesting they gave us more alcohol, seemed a good idea at the time. They politely refused our request, sold us a warm bottle of white wine and sent us on our very merry way. I just wish I had the ability to bail out on a high, as one of the members of our newly formed club had indeed done. Will I ever learn? I hope not!
Well Christophe, my evening wasn't nearly as 'interesting' as yours but at least I was in my own bed with my lovely orange salt lamp casting a gorgeous glow around the room and helping me to feel all snuggly buggly wuggly when the storm was raging around the moors.
Earlier on...I cooked a spaghetti carbonara, using oat milk cream, and Cheesly, non-dairy soya sub. for James (son) and I, after....chauffering him to and from his orchestra and windband practice and bringing home yet another intrument to join the 'plethera' a bass trombone!!!
MMmmmmm...Chris I think you would qualify to join the 'Wind' band, you wouldn't need an instrument...it would be a 'cocophony' of sound :>)
Love Debbie xx
My evening consisted of going to the doctors (asthma again), visiting my brother, his wife, 2 boys & a dog. Arrived in time for tea, which was great!
Arrive home take the bins out for the bin men this morning, take a cuppa to bed watch a movie & then have the best 8 hours sleep i've had in ages. Hence this morning awake & ready to start the day at 6.30am. Fantastic. xxx
Oh Chris just the type of random evening I love...bravissimo!!
It's been a while since I shared a packet of bacon with a group of people from the previous evening, I really must do something about that.
After a buddhist's sleep myself I decided to lenghten the whole process by delving into the world of yoga. This morning I have bended and twisted myself into various positions, I have made the transistion from being a frog to a warrior and finally lets not forget the dog!! perhaps I turned in to Marvin the dog from a previous blog.
Anyway after letting my 'skull melt into the floor' I'm not trying to jolt it into some kind of work activity, some chance!!
Have a great day fellow bloggers and look forward to hearing you this evening Chris.
Good Moaning Christophe and fellow bloggers!
You want it candid.........
I had a very long night as I was flying (not me literally, you understand, but in a plane!) back from the good ol' US of A. Working too, not sitting down drinking wine, watching a movie and having a sleep!!!
We (the crew) kept ourselves amused feeding 300 people and chatting to those who stayed awake long enough to eat!!
We also (some of the crew!) spent some time checking on the hot tottie on board and passing it around the crew so we could go and "check them out"! Alot of the girlies check out the boys and alot of the boys check out the boys too!!! We are good at passing on the info. and caring and sharing!
Twas a good night for tottie!! Lots of window shopping. What they are like first thing when we wake them up for brekkie......thats the cruncher..... Ruffled hair, sleepy eyes, deep sexy voice and a bit of smile with a "thanks" before lieing down again........ahhhhhh. Morning farts on a plane - not a good look......!
Am now home, still havnt slept yet but had to read the blog!! Its taken me ages cos I couldnt believe there were over 100 posts yesterday so had to start reading! I howled at the BigUn! Pig it is in the next life!! Its so addictive this blog malarkie.....Is it called a blogsite??
So now I am in bed, blogging away and am now going to sleep in the vain hope that I will struggle awake before 5pm so I can listen to Chris and make my day.
Going to US again tomorrow........No peace for the totty!!
Night, Night.
Lovs ya Weezie xxxxx
Well hallo Chris and all you non-nambies.
My night. The boy was home. Haven't seen him since Sun as working away. Thought would have quiet night in but ended up with take-away curry (which was TOTALLY DELISH) and then headed off to local hostelry to meet friends. Boy decided after two pints of lager that he felt bloated and needed to be at home. He took two rennies and I went to bed to listen to a chorus of belches from downstairs. Don't remember him coming to bed, but do remember lying awake through afore mentioned (Jennie #17) thunderstorm and then being rudely awakened by boy very early (as he was going away again) because the cat had pee'd on the trousers he was going to wear. Needless to say there was nowt I could do but sympathise.
By the way, in case anyone read towards the end of yesterday's blog - the plumber came (very nice chap, highly recommended) and looked at the boiler. He then consulted two other plumbers and we need a new boiler. Oh joy.
DYOUNGONE #13
I've seen that one before and it spooked me. Watched it again, and it still spooked me. Mentioned to the boy that I am glad I am all growed up now because if I had still been a child it would have TERRIFIED ME!
Does anyone remember 'Thriller' that used to be on on Saturday nights? It started with an open mouth that looked as if it was supposed to be screaming. There was one of those that had children singing the song 'Girls and boys come out to play' and that STILL haunts me now!
Will I get some sleep tonight...who knows????

Life is to short not to smile so here are a few silly jokes for you :-)

Police have caught the hijacker of a lorry load of elastic bands. They say he's looking at a long stretch
Police are searching for thieves who broke into a chemist and stole 2000 Viagra tablets. They say they are looking for a couple of hardened criminals.
Police are searching for a thief who robs his victims by threatening them with a lighted match.
They want to catch him before he strikes again
Reports are coming in that a yellow powder, some milk and sugar have been stolen from a kitchen in London. Police say they have taken a man into CUSTARDy for questioning
News flash: a hole has been found in the wall of a nudist colony. Police are looking into it.
A trampoline was stolen from a garden. Police are springing into action.
Police have confirmed that the recent robberies of gift paper have now been wrapped up.
Keep smiling

John, #34 - thanks i shall now be singing "dance your cares away, worries for another day, let the music play...
off to lunch at Sketch now - never been before so very exciting - then off to the london eye. (office summer outing - be warned fellow londoners)
Myself and my partner sat out in the garden with a bottle of wine watching the lighting show - very exciting and romantic!!!!
Hey Chris and fellow bloggers!
Freakiest weather-inspired dream last night - think I must have spent too much time last night sitting in the dark watching the lightning out of the window. I dreamt that the cottage caught on fire and the Fire Brigade turned up to evacuate us - only three cottages on our little lane - but it was the day before Christmas and I was worried about getting all the presents out.
But the freakiest thing of all was that this morning at five o'clock, I was woken up by the smoke alarm going off for real! Had to get up then and rush around the place to check that we weren't really on fire.
Weird.
Take care all, Happy Thursday!
Susan

you asked for it.
my partner and carer put me to bed at 10 so listened to Mr. McConie, then slept. He came to bed and slept till I woke him to turn me. he back to sleep till 730 me on back. Up on to shower chair and twiddled fingers till carer came at 9. Showered and back to bed with Mr Bruce.
Darling man has just got me up proper. its raining here.

Slept well, felt fine and free of aches, pains & brusies when I went to bed. So please explain why I wake with a brusied finger, and very dodgy knee?
Afternoon
I too suffered from the too much beer on a school night thing - am really paying for it now - roll on home time :-(
Planning on doing it all again later though :-)

Would you believe Chris I dreamt of you last night! You tried to snog me while insisting I try a tequila slammer!
Then met the group "Madness"......Can't begin to work out where all this came from.
SOME PEOPLE THANK ABOUT CRAME AND THEY GO AND DO DAMGING CAR AND PLAYING WITH FIREWORK
last night both my kids went out, so I dived on my husband, ripped his trousers off, knocked him to the floor and had my wicked way with him.
Excellent.

Slept well after an argument.
Obviously I was right
Woke up this morning, head pounding, mouth like a dustbin having had 3 hours kip.
Cannot really understand this!
NO beer consumed (bar the sneaky one when collecting the chinese). Wife slept all night, 17 month old slept all the way through again!
Even the 6 day old only woke once at about mid-night
Me thinks I am suffering withdrawal symptoms from lack of living it up with the boys.
A head wetting must need organising........
Cracking night, last night, although mixed fortunes...
Worked a tad later than I wanted, left the office around 7. Sixty balls on the driving range .., coming along nicely, still a little inconsistant and a tendancy to hit to the right - thinnk I need to book a lesson to sort that out.
Then ran two errands for mates - thats two more browny points on the plus side for when I gets to negotiating with St Peter and openeing his Pearly Gates.
Then home to a spag bowl tea - yum yum. Quick splosh and into the casuals and out with mates for a beer.
So far so good. Then Leeds got mullard 3 - 0, ho hum going to be a long season I think. Ever positive - lets see what happens when the injured / suspended come back...
Back from the rub-a-dub and channel hopped into a tribute to Fred Dibnar - what a great guy he was. Last generations Clarkson.
Off to bed with a pint or water and 10 minutes with Nick Hornby's "Long Way Down" - one funny book.
Quick book recommendation -
Khaled Hosseini's - "The Kite Runner"

Re ; Birthday present ideas. Check out the artist Berit Kruger-Johnson. Beautiful prints, bit querky and unusual. Not too pricey for a mounted print.

Namby pamby eh!
I have a thumping, fuzzy head, blurred vision and a grazed stomach...?
Whilst cleaning the kitchen late yesterday afternoon I put the recycling out the front nice and early for today's collection. I was feeling very together and grown up being so organised until the front door slammed and I was left on the doorstep in my 'comfies' and no shoes. Needless to say having just moved, I hadn't dropped a set of keys with a kindly neighbour nor clearer the back path of nettles, broken bottles or shopping trollies. Neither have I ever memorised my other half's mobile number as I always, scratch that, usually have my phone with his name in, not a number to dial like the good old days but just a name - doh!
So I brazened it out and went down my new local boozer to ask if I could use the phone to call directory enquiries and then phone other half's work. Needless to say my new landlord and the other guys propping up the bar thought my predicament hilarious -- ha..ha..ha.
Reception at other half's work had gone home so no luck there.
So I returned home and sat on my front wall like some over grown grumpy gnome trying to keep calm and resist the urgue to cry.
Finally my neighbour came home and I asked if I could climb over his wall into my garden as I had opened the back door earlier. All was going well until I tried to lower myself into my garden which turned out to be alot lower that his garden as we are on a slight slope. The combination of a 'few extra pounds', gravity and an old rough brick wall was neither a pretty sight nor a pleasant feeling.
I squeaked to my neighbours thankyou I was fine and ran into the house clutching my stomach and swearing through clenched teeth straight into my other half who had just come through the front door - more swearing.
We then went to the pub to give the landlord some money for the phone call and have a well deserved pint, or two plus a third thrown in by the landlord - he's a nice chap and what a bonus to find such a great local in a new town!
Anyhow, home the bottle of red that I had opened to breathe shortly before putting the recycling out and you get the idea as to why I have yet to venture out of the house this morning.
On the more positive side, we've had an amazing storm this morning and we're off camping this weekend, which starts tomorrow. Yeap, our first break this year and we will be in Devon staying in some Yurts, then onto Cornwall with some of the wettest weather this year predicted- hurrah!
Further Note to self - pack the wellies and the scrabble, more red wine and a large package of paracetomol.
See you all in a weeks time!

Hey I thought Daisy talking about romantic fiction was good yesterday. I laughed out loud when she mentioned that men read about Stalingrad as it is my husbands book of choice at the moment and is nestling on his nightstand inbetween, The Great War of Civilisation and Freakonomics - bless him :-)
Looked at this site for the 1st time,
read 2 Mrs Pepperpot stories to my darling girls,
awaited husband, did more reading.
Walked round the lake this morning with Cass, we had a grand time, saw some fishing types, birds and that.
I remember doing stuff like that DJ.
Top chap Chris,
so from all the 37 year old married men, with 22 month old daughters, who are always to knackered to drink more than 3 pints and stay awake past 9pm....
keep living the dream !
Lets get real.
My hubby has been in Oz for more than a week and he just got back. Had an early night and got to sleep very late.
Wonderful.
He's the best. ;-)

Earlier today several toilets were stolen from Brighton Police Station. A spokesman said they are searching for the perpetrator, but have nothing to go on.
Earlier today a brick was hurled through the glass in the main front door of Brighton Police Station. So far the only clue is a note attached to said brick which reads 'For fast window repairs, call 012222....'
and one of my faves from the funeral days...
Two guys chatting over the garden fence.
'Hear the wife's ill Bert?'
'Yeah, pretty poorly'
'Is that her coughin'?'
'Naw mate, I'm buildin' a shed'
This is all such fun today!

On your sofa! Goodness me. I woke up in my bed without my man - handsome man Dean is back from a work trip tonight, so look out world! I agree with the other comments, sounds like you had a great night for a Wednesday...
It's my first time here and I wonder if someone could tell me if I have missed the best time to plant my potatoes ready for Christmas?
What's A Namby Pamby? What I could remember were three things. I'm going candid and I hope the Moderators do not mind.
Ohio 1980: after Reagan was elected, the College Republicans had a party and the College Democrats were invited. We were all College people. I was invited also. I could remember two college girls [one of them was of the Extreme Left and the Other was of the Extreme Right drinking Six Packs like if there were no tomorrow]. These College Girls had Blue T Shirts and Blue Jeans with Heavy Shoes. The Two College Girls [Left and Right] then proceeded to remove their shoes and socks in order to give me a foot massage in the sofa. [I was lying on the sofa] Both walked on top of me with their barefeet while I was lying on the sofa. I cannot deny that I enjoyed it. It also confirms that the Left and Right are the same, they are human.
Dominican Republic 1983: I was studying Medicine and one of the examinations were grueling. We were at a friend's house studying for these examinations [since Medicine and Dentistry were taking the same course]. [Also, Grenada was on our mind]. There was a Dental Student named Alina born in Indiana to Cuban Parents. [Remember there was a sizable community of US Latins studying medicine abroad because of discrimination at home].
Alina had a Blue T Shirt, Blue Jeans and Sandals. Again, I was in the couch, Alina then removed her Sandals [and history repeats itself]. Only one difference: after the massage, she remained barefooted and went to the kitchen to cook my supper. I was lying in the sofa and she went to check me. She touched my forehead and saw that I had fever [A Few Hours before the study group, I had a Melon Juice that gave me an allergic reaction a few hours before and this was the cause of my fever]. She gave me two Fever Reducing Pills, Water, and My Supper. After Supper, [which I had in the Sofa and in front of everyone] she put covers over me and told me I needed some rest. I rested for five hours and woke up feeling healthier but afraid I might have missed my Exam. I went to the Hall where the Exam was about to take place and finished with an A.
Mabel and I made our own pizzas, drank wine and dreamt about the house we're looking at again this evening. We were both worried this morning that we'd got ahead of ourselves but then if this blog is about anything it's about positivity: we will get the house!
¡Hola!, Christoph and the shlog squad
You asked for it,
Good long soak in the bath removing hair from nearly all over. Spag bol. Champions League - Ha Ha Madrid, well done Gooners and Man U. Gosford Park - dull, dull, dull, zzzzzz. No 'Sex and the City' so bed. Oh and a good slug of Veterano brandy.
Rain and thunder here now.
Toodles.
Just remembered, Toby D at #9
Keep it simple and cheese free. You should be getting some hints about now so keep your ears peeled.
Otherwise a spa day generally goes down well.
Have fun!
Went to IKEA after work and then drove home into The Storm. Saw lightnight bolt come down in front of me as I drove home and the sky was almost permanently alight with sheet lightning.
Then got soaked emptying the boot of my IKEA goodies. Put together my table only to find it's damaged and I'll need to return it. Discovered the rug I bought is really way too big for my lounge. Unpacked and positioned the microwave oven I bought in Tesco's the day before last.
Then went online and chatted to my friends until almost midnight. Up at 5am this morning to go to the gym. No strangers in my bed >8o(
Going out for drinks tonight after work so will miss the show (as I did last night by going to IKEA)
Brings back memories from my singleton days!
Haven't had a night like that in 10 years - can't say I miss it though.
Now for the boring bit - had an early night, both the children slept all night for a change. The eldest didn't wake until just before 8 which is unknown (it's usually around 6) and even the youngest (who is up through the night most nights) slept until 7.
Feeling energised and revitalised today for the first time in a couple of weeks!
Weather absolutely miserable here. But amazingly enough a good night's sleep means I don't feel too down about it.........
your night was definitely better than mine. I spent it sitting in pain due to broken bone in my foot. Cannot drive and cannot walk without pain - good to see from the website that other people are having fun. Keep up the blog, love to hear what you are doing.
Im picturing the male pig twisting round and roud like a novelty corkscrew!
Interesting experiences one and all! I went to a big event (can't remember what now) and, in the belief that this was what was expected of everyone, turned up naked - only to find that everyone else was fully clothed.
I tried to behave as if all was well but, needless to say, felt very self-conscious and embarrassed. I'm a bit flabby for that sort of thing now (pendulous one could say - although a friend and I did once streak at a dinner party many years ago). Luckily this was a dream, so was relieved to wake up.
Makes up for my usual existence which is happy, full of surprises, but probably a bit tame!
LXH to all shloggers
only a true gentleman would wake up on the sofa!
well overseas at the moment in a pretty hairy place - but managed to get online and listen to the show.
met a damn hot stewardess on a website last - managed to keep me up until the early hours - i think the bus that hit chris sideways made a detour this way - struggling through the day!
another late one tonight -and another liason with the hot stewardess - will keep you informed!
Barb (#61) - how about 'More Today Than Yesterday' by Andy Williams... thats a cracker!
Or... 'Piggies' by Ringo! (wonder if theres any mention of their unmentionables in that song)
"have you seen the little piggies with their corkscrew..*ahem*"
I just thought today was a friday... Ive woken up and thought it a wrong day before, but not in the middle of the day. Weird. I WANT IT TO BE FRIDAY!!!!
sorry... as you were.

pretty average night really, off the gym, just about spent the same about of time talking and actually doing the CV work. then a chat with an old work mate, then a visit to the 24 hour tesco, what a god send that place is.

Afternoon all. Hope your heads are all feeling better now!
Hmmm, last night ... went to pub with my man, came home and he rustled up dinner out of an old washing up bottle, a toilet roll and some sticky back plastic (well he may as well have done, I was a bit p*ssed and would have eaten anything).
Watched a bit of TV then watched torrential rain. Tried to convince the greyhound to come for a cuddle on the bed, but she's so scared of storms, she just lay trembling with her head under the bedside table all night.
Just met my mate and had a cuddle with her 7 week old baby - aaahhh, nothing better than a just-fed baby falling asleep in your arms :-)
Have good days all.
xxxxxxxxxx
Good afternoon 1 & all
Chris, what happened to your niece and nephew? Where did you lose them in your night of fun and frivolity?
When you live alone and you wake up to people being there does it feel strange to be talking to them? Only, cos I live in a house that never seems to be empty on the rare occasion when I've woke up to nobody being there and I'm home alone it always hits me hours later that I haven't spoke a word ........ maybe it's just me!
I woke up on the sofa too this morning but mine wasn't following a particularly eventful night, though I did get woken up with a lovely kiss this morning so that's got to be a bonus - even though it was at about 5.30am as hubby was going to work. I'd fell asleep reading and luckily the book was open on the floor on the page that I was up to, must have died cos even the sound of it hitting the floor hadn't shifted me.
Toby - pressie ideas: nice romantic night away anywhere, tickets to a show/concert even if they're not for the birthday night they're always a good pressie, as mentioned a booking of a spa/pamper day. I know some people don't like them but I love receiving gift vouchers as I get the joy of being given them, followed by a nice day out shopping with whatever I bought as an added bonus at the end - it's like 3 pressies in one.
Got to say I'm disappointed that everyone has had thunderstorms as we haven't had one here, we've had a day full of non stop rain but not a flash or a bang to be seen or heard.
May all your flashes & bangs be good ones...
Hear you at 5
Katie

hey everyone
well i am having one of those productive days, the type when you actuallyfind time to sortoutyour life and actuallyfindthe fun in it!
A large part of my evening was spent just me and my dog! I am lucky enough to live in a great part of north yorkshire, I have been here on and off all my life yet still wander along new horizons every now and then. This evening I am having a friend over for coffee, it was supposed to be dinner, but the guilt crept up, the type of guilt that crawls throughthe back of your head and gets itself all comfortable, and jumps out everytime you want to do something fun!
Yes I have an essay due, well late and exams round the corner!
I really wish that I had appreciated how lucky i was when I was at university, all that time to study and all that freedom and facilities! Not so easy at 25 with a two year old and a full time job! I think it is called paying your dues hey!!
Anyway enough of the winging, the sun is shining and there is a whole world outtheir that becomes mine bang on five!!!
em25xx
Toby #15 - well I think that if she gave you James Blunt tickets then really you should return the gesture in appropriate way - say, vouchers for Robert Dyas maybe, or box of licorice allsorts from the local garage, sent late of course. ;-)
Afternoon everyone,
Nothing to report from last night, the other half attended to my needs (ahem) and then I allowed him out to the pub. Double bonus because I then had control of the TV for once, so just chilled out.
Did anyone watch the Ian Wright fat kids thing? I'm not saying anything....... talk about it all being down to the parents, my goodness me.
More than likely I'll be a bit jaded tomorrow though. Darts season starts tonight, no I don't play darts but hubby does so I will have to go along for moral support (and a pint or 2).
Oh dear on a school night.......
H xxxx
What did I do last night??
Had someone elses Husband on the phone threatening to set a hitman on me if I went near his wife again!!
Ah, the joys of life!! Ha! Ha! All's fair ......
Laying low tonight!!!
Idea's for girlfriend's birthday present...
Weekend away somewhere in the UK but very romantic. Tell her to take her passport to work as you'll pick her up to take her away for the weekend, tell her to pack something smart, something practical and something sexy. Also swim kit...
Leave her guessing but take her to one of the UK's leading spa hotels for a weekend of indulgence. Pre book her a masssage and a facial!!
While you are there treat yourself as well.
Hi Chris, Love to listen to you on my way home every evening between 5-6pm, I keep a blog about my recovery from alcoholism its at www.madmickstories.com, its from day 1 until now and I am 2 and a bit years sober.
I go to AA meetings Monday and Thursday and I would love to tell you all what a life saver AA has been for me, I truly have discovered a brand new way of life.
2 1/2 years ago I was in court fighting for contact with my son and only had my faithful labrodor cross called Miss Boley as company today I love life.
Anyway I dont know if you read these posts but to give me a mention on air tonight just say happy 2nd sober bitrthday to Michael and it would really mean something.
Keep texting and calling but never yet had my name read out on the radio.
keep up the blog
Michael Schofield
i thank you radio 2 is the best becouse you have lots of fans
Ooohps! That was a "candid" comment back!
I wanted to be "unsafe" and uncute" in my comments.
I would also like to point out that my blogs were of course NOT true.
However, I would rather like to say I was fantasising rather than lying. I would have thought the word "Terry" in blog #8 and the word "fantasy" in blog #34 was a give away. I was trying to have a bit of fun.
Also, what is wrong if 2 (and I mean only 2) consenting single adults wanted fun and nookie - where's the guilt?!
Also, if things were true - I would certainly not BLOG about it. Moments that are true to me stay with me.
Sorry - if I was misunderstood. I didn't intend any harm.
Hello people... & especially Roberto #65... Namby Pamby for me means... " don't be a cry baby"... "stick up for yourself"... I was brought up (is that right... brought up) anyway in S.E. London... when I was a kid in the 50's one parent families were few & far between... anyway my darling dad used to say that to me when I came home moaning... I'm a lot of things but namby pamby isn't one of them... I'm off for a Chinese with the mates tonight... so gotta go...& F38... the mention of the work surfaces being the right height was cool... & Christophe when you do a show from someones house... that'll be like reality radio... will we have counselling on how to handle the fame... ciao ciao baby.
Afternoon.
Good grief what a day! Mad here just trying to sort things out for new students who start soon at university - I hope they appreciate the work we put in. Sounds like an interesting night Chris.
Mine ended up being more eventful than I planned thanks to being roped in to looking after a new members night at a theatre group I'm with. Always interesting trying to remember all the facts and figures to tell everyone expecting you to deliver - guess you feel like that when you know we're all listening to you every evening and you have to give a good show night after night Chris! Thankfully I only had to do this one! But it was a success - hurrah - and got a load of people to join us. I must be quite persuasive I guess!! :o)
So, drinks after work to look forward to in half an hour before I have to go to a meeting - hopefully all gossip worthy stuff will happen before I leave. Will have to tune into the show on listen again tomorrow though.
Have a good evening all!!

new to this and can't work out if its a bit sad blogging chris evans...?
that said, have been enjoying the show. living in africa at the moment and it keeps me in touch with home. great show. but what has struck me from flicking thru this blog quickly...you're a bit of a hippy aren't you? i never knew that.
anyway, probably won't make a habit of this blogging business but last night went to a bar in town straight after work for one...turned into many beer with funny flow of people from around the world in the bar...late night street food/probable dysentry...fell into bed but forgot the mozzie net (malaria here I come)...up this morning with head like a badgers behind to get to work. not pretty.
make me feel better with some great tunes on the show please and keep it up. will be back to check out the blog again for some more hippy chat some day soon.
cheers.
Chris....
The only reason it is all too safe and cute is that we get penalized by the mods for being more candid, risque, exciting... whatever you want to call it!
Last night was boring really, sat in front of tv with laptop... hence the very late post.
Now tonight is another matter entirely... it involves subtufurge, secrecy, sex, alcohol, skulking... all kinds of really fun things...
LL2TF xx
Got seriously drunk with friends, in a local village by the beach. Danced all night on one leg, lost my clothes on the way out of Gecko's. My friend Al Pacino drove me to the airport and now i am a portuguese man with a hangover in London!
So you trying to get us sideways .........wink wink.......
So looks like you didn't relise your head had hit the sofa.
Was it worth it?
Mark
dear chris eave you are best radio two you make me very happy and cheerfull
Reminds me of when I was staying at La Manga in Spain.
Woke up one morning - Peter Cook (yes, the very one) asleep on my sofa.
You wonder what the hell went on the night before, but just accept it must have been pretty mad!
Had the best night out in a long time. Lots of boys and girls all playing happily with not too much drink involved. As the night wore on, it got a bit steamy and the windows needing opening.
By the way, this was a puppy party of 10-12 week old puppies all having great fun. Best thing I have been too in a while.
My night was dull as dishwater!
Apart from the most amazing storm which lasted a good hour! the claps of thunder came straight away after the flash of lightning!
I love the smell after a good storm.
Would have loved a stranger in my bed, have been single for a whole year on monday 18th!
Bored now!!!!!!!!!! need some fun.
xx
It's interesting to hear what everyone does in the evening.
I went to college, I'm doing an evening diploma course in reflexology. on the first week our tutor made us all hold hands together and now we think nothing of stripping off in front of each other, socks that is!
I tried to be serious last night as I had to practice initial client consultations but kept getting the giggles.
Love Helenx
Well it's like this either I can tell you what I did last night - OR I can tell you about my bestest "night-in"
Last night, apple and balckberry crumble with lashings of extra thick cream, a movie and a snuggle on the couch with two sleepy spaniels!
However, I used to follow a local band, lead singer bit of a tart - but a nice enough bloke and to someone who has been single for sooooooooo long - by choice - a wee bit of a temptation.
Anyway, good gig, excellent crowd, I was driving (couldn't afford a taxi AND booze!) singer decided to ask me if I could drop him home at about 2am, after much ribbing by the rest of the guys about how many notches etc, we left. Uneventful journey except surprisingly great conversation, got to the house and was invited in for coffee and to see the record collection!
The whole night was spent in companiable conversation and cuddles while listening to and discussing some fantastic music!!!! We went from Leonard Cohen to Ray Charles, from Chris Rea to Whitesnake via Joe Cocker and early Fleetwood Mac!
I left at 7am, still with all my clothes intact but it was a really fantastic night! Way better than the two days of rampant norties with a boyfriend of mine. We are still good friends very many years down the line - unlike the aformentioned boyfriend!!!!!
PS - show sounds great - getting me in the mood for the barshift I am just off to. Ta Chris xxxx
PPS #95 sounds like my kinda party!!!!!
Typical - on your show you are asking what people have "Messed up" - I messed up my post!!!!
Forgot to tell you about my dad's night out - again a while ago - Mum sent him down the pub for some ciggies..... he came back three weeks later........ without them!!!
Yes they are now divorced!
and Yes, it is a true story!
Blimey - 1st time I've sat down to read yr blog Chris. Spent the last hour or so catching up with this phenoemen that I've been missing out on!!!
Spent yesterday evening driving back from London to home in Sussex after a day at Kew Gardens. Got home and made a spag bol (YUM!). Then watched a bit of tv with the mrs. We had thunder here in Sussex - the lightening was just over the hill out back and the thunder clap was v v v v v loud. Our cat didn't bat an eylid though - strange.
Went to bed and laid in as off from work at the mo - on holiday (going to Greece tomorrow!)
Two lovely girls in the bed and you were on the sofa? You call that lucky?
I had a fitful night's sleep. Dolores (my ever fragrant wife) snores loud enough to make my ear plugs vibrate. Twin X had a crisis mid way through the night. He dreamt that he turned up to school and the police were there to arrest him for stealing all the carrots from the school garden. I asked him whether this dream had any basis in fact, to which he replied that he'd never touched the carrots.
It was only as I was dozing off some 30 mins later that I realised what Twin X had not said. Going back into his room I shook him awake and asked him what he meant by 'not touching the carrots'. He then confessed that he had 'accidentally' broken three branches off the school's pear tree whilst swinging from them, and that a police man had visited the school to warn pupils about getting involved in violent crime.
When I got back to bed, Dolores was awake. She then couldn't go back to sleep and began fidgeting. This meant I couldn't relax either. Something disturbed the sheep in the field outside our bedroom for a while, then I needed a pee. Dolores beat me to the bathroom for her regular morning bout of retching (yes, she is carrying our third child).
I figure I got 3 hours sleep.
Hello Chris,
Enjoyed the show today. Iv'e been abroad so haven't listened for a while, have you found your ideal house with vegetable garden yet? You can't beat growing it all yourself, especially asparagus and new potatoes.
Say hello to Richard, he listens to you while he's building a car.
All the Best

Michael # 84, CONGRATULATIONS and well done on your outstanding achievement. I image that the past 2 years has been quite a journey for you, overcoming massive challenges.
I posted a message about having a 'BA' for bloggers before I read your posting. I was mortified when I saw your msg, It was intended as lighthearted as this is becoming more and more compelling and fun. I so hope it didn't offend you.
Love Debbie xx
Hi Chris and everyone, great blogs today, really cheer me up, just a shame i can't access them til i get in from work cos the bosses (boo hiss) have blocked access to this site at work....
#71 Hi to another Cate with a C! Hurrah, the first one I've ever encountered apart from Ms Blanchett. Do you have to put up with "HOW do you spell your name" too?!
Had a fun evening last night rehearsing a show for November, was dead chuffed to be taken aside by the Director and asked to do a something special only to be brought down to earth with a bump when it turned out he wanted me to stop a certain member of the chorus from always getting to the front of the stage when she shouldnt be there...is he trying to tell me I am built like a rugby prop or what?!
Happy Thursday all, am looking forward to Extras tonight,, and the end of the week tomorrow, yippee. xx
chris and bloggers, talking of sausages, making a suasage prat tonight, my piece de reisitance....looks a bit messy but magnificent on the tastebuds. No toms tho chris, having said that I have got lots of cherry toms on my plants in the gro bag, absolutely dellish. Gawd....i hate ironing.
Candid, last night, hmmmmmm there was some candid orange peel in the ice cream.
Tombola thing sounds great, unfortunately we live in a shoe box stuffed full of dogs, however, can anyone join you in the pub?
Tata all.....friday 2mor, whooppee X
chriiiiiis, I have missed you this summer!!
Slept in a bed for the first time in...months last night! Drove home yesterday in that dreadful traffic from our NORTHERN ADVENTURE- myself and the boy with a tent, climbing rack, fishing rods and a talking pepperami stuffed into my old Proton "The Pash" for some adventuring in Lancashire. And what adventures we had-
met some old farmers in a medieval monastery,
made the boy sick on the Irn Bru revolution at Blackpool Pleasure Beach,
had a peep into Lancaster Prison courtesy of a nice prison guard,
asked in a pub for some local real ale to be greated by "well, we have Heineken and Carlsberg....Tetley's is made near here I think..." MADNESS!
Watched in bewilderment as a film crew turned up at our remote farm campsite, produced two marquees and 5 giants tents readily erected from a lorry, and proceeded to film a load of fat people waddling about the field.
Walked around Morcambe for THREE hours looking for cockles, to no avail and climbed two routes called "Jean Genie" and "Major Tom".
Lancashire is a highly recommended place, as is a warm bed in a solid house when you get back. Woke up at 3am imagining the cat on my pillow. spent 5 minutes searching for it under the bed in a half-sleep til I woke up and felt silly. Woke up this morning to a cup of tea-aaaaah!
i need fruitiness!! Can i please have the apple?
hugs
jennybear
Hi
Not a bad night - out with my sis for a meal down the pub then home to a bottle of wine and the Martin Clunes programme - but BUGGER - I missed the end of it - can anyone fill me in on the last 15 minutes please?
Bed at 11 but couldn't sleep cat decided to sleep on the bed - or rather use it as a trampoline so I shut her out of the bedroom but then at 3am she came scratching and woke me up! Then I had that awful thing that happens in the middle of the night when its dark and totally quiet and you start thinking things and they seem ten times worse at 3am for some reason! Car went for MOT today but at 3am it was playing on my mind so much I couldn't sleep ... by the way - it passed! z

just off for tea now and an early night! z

Well, this is the first time I have read the blog. It's great, will def become a regular reader. Actually two firsts as have never posted either. Although am supposed to be preparing lessons for tomorrow!
Chris hope all goes well with house buying. i am in the middle of buying my first house. V exciting but seems a bit grwon up!!! Can't wait to get out of lodgings.
Sadly either we didn't have a storm last night or I managed to not realise it was happening. Shame, I love a good lightening storm. Makes me feel really cosy watching from warm house.
Last night v dull. Shazza-Lou #108. Martin Clunes thing ended with him messing up the presentation by dissing the idea his boss wanted. He was sacked although the company went for his ad idea. Meanwhile his daughter yelled at him for not letting anyone share inhis cancer and they all had a happy family hug to fininsh.
Emma B #96. SIngle for one year? Have been single for 27 1/2 years. Would love a cuddly night in. ALthough generally not miserable about lack of man
Greetings to all bloggers

Hey Chris-baby,
I was inspired by the warm indian summer evening and by the temptation that sits on my landing outside my flat door which demands I throw my leg over and pump hard.....you said things were getting fruity, and indeed...but of course I am speaking about my mountain bike. I flew off down the road, worked hard up the hill, and just had to come to a swift halt as the brambles by the road were just too shinily plump and beckoning to resist. They tasted like heaven...so eventually, with purple fingers I lept aboard again and got over the hill. I raced along amongst the fields, past the cows who had their wonderfully earthy, cowy smell and got to where I wanted to be...the top of 'my hill'.
IT FELT FABULOUS!! The evening was gorgeous and I was HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY!
Home and a lovely soothing bath, because with all respect to the saddle on my bike, my backside was tender...then slipped away to bed eventually with Mark Radcliffe and the honey-toned voice of Richard Hawley...blissful evening.
And that was my evening...hope you like it.
The house-hopper broadcast sounds amazing...I just wish I had a bigger place that you could use...
loving the blog and your chat - you're a sweetheart.
much love,
Susie
I love this blogging thing - evening to all fellow bloggers, great to hear everyones news.
Chris, your evening consists of what all us dreary housewifes/mums can only dream of. HOW exciting, keep us posted!
MIssing my husband who is driving down to Devon to stay with my parents and see my sister (something wrong there!) and listening to twin daughters dancing and singing to TOXIC for the 1000th time - Help - give me radio 2!!
Brilliant achievement to #84 - I have a close friend who could really do with reading your blog
NIght all!!!!

Hello all again!
Had a good sleep, but missed most of the show due to various stages of trying to wake up, lift head off pillow, failing, going back to sleep and getting up!
Woke up dreaming (I no, I no!) of the blogs (mostly wondering if pigs have a 30min orgasm, do lady pigs have 30 min multiple ones???) and the song in my head was "Wake up it a beautiful morning" from Chris's breakfast show days!! I blame the jet lag.....frequently!
Have tried to listen again to tonights show but THU show on listen again is last weeks (7th Sept). Ney mind am sure it will all work out! Did catch the last 15mins and my day was still made with the last track - my fav Coldplay song. Have to stop to listen to that song each time its played! Love it, love it!
Also there is a sausage shop, spookily called The Sausage Shop, in Bath. All made there and then on the premises! Garjus!
Am gonna watch Extras and Greys Anatomy tonight to get my fix of Dr McDreamy......be still my beating heart.......
Enjoy Fridays show, and have a good weekend!
Lotsa love, Weezie xxx
PS - Dont no about the apple, (might get bruised in the post!) but can I have Sally's job - knealing in front of Shane Warne to do the traffic!!! Any excuse!!!!
What great radio that was!
Aint life grand xx
Hi Christopher and Blogs
Just a quick blog tonight as my lovely hubby's come home from Coventry. Going to kiss the face off him now.
Christopher - Poor boy - nothing worse than the morning after the night before - unless of course the friends you spent the previous evening and night will wake up at the same time, and you can giggle over the funny bits you did the night before.
Nothing like good friends is there. Laughter makes all our worlds go round, makes us feel better, makes us show the world all our fillings when we open our facial orifice to let out our huge guffaws.
Love side-splitting laughs - cheeky laughs - naughty laughs - cuddled up laughs - and best of all pillow laughs when you're all warm and cosy in bed with your loved one. Nothing like it.
Boss is away from work at the moment, and the medium bosses were at a meeting so managed to catch up with some of my colleagues and had a good old chat. That was nice - no crying in the loo today.
Sat and listened to Magic on the satellite channel last night - 80's music was on which just makes me smile....it was such fun then. The Weather Girls came on and I've never actually seen them in the flesh so to speak - made me jig all round the living room. Neighbours thought there was an earthquake - but I enjoyed myself. Hee hee.
Got to go and do some kissy kissy now.
Will speak to you all tomorrow.
Love and hugs to all
Myra
Well having read all entries for the past few weeks decided it was tie to get in on the act.
I miss Uk pubs ad bars, just cant find the same atmosphere here in Virginia. Still, large bottle of red wine and Jerry Springer on TVs Dancing with the Stars.
Boy was he awful, but the crowd loved him as you woudl expect.
Getting into stormy season here, so looking forward to thunder that rattles the windows and lightening brighter than Walmart Carpark.
Until I do this again, xxscebtkmxx
Well Hello one and all
This is my first time as a fellow blogette. It's quite exciting. I have spent the last hour bringing myself up to speed with the ins and out of all the peeps in and around our local world and have come to the conclusion I am the most boring person in the world and live with the most boring family also in this world of bloggers.
Take yesterday for example, spent all day cleaning the kitchen as I discovered mouse poop in the airing cupboard (have laid traps), child 1 came home from school, we spent the next 2 1/2 hours crying (and I do mean both of us - at one point I was in the garage hiding) over the homework. It's not like it's difficult - he's in primary one. Fed child 1 and 2, hubbie took child 1 to youthclub. Put baby to bed. Child 1 went to bed, hubbie and I had "30 seconds" on our own!!! (can't stop laughing out loud as I keep thinking about pigs going round and round with the corkscrew "things"), hubbie went to work on nightshift (policeman) and I went to bed. Baby woke twice, ended up in my bed, child 1 peed bed - so ended up in my bed. Woke at 6.03am with cramp, bad back and baby drool on my arm.
And the day goes on.
How can one family be so unexciting? Oh wait a minute - big excitment today, two things happened - coalman arrived (had to choose my words carefully there) and we got our box for our broadband - only taken 3 months - but that's what happens when you live the life of, as the wife of, Hamish Macbeath at the end of the world.
Right I'm off now - I'm even boring myself. Thanks for making my first time an exciting and memorable time.
Chris
I really enjoyed listening to Bruce Springsteen, I'm on Fire while stuck in a horrible traffic jam tonight trying to get out of Newcastle upon Tyne and found my self laughing out loud, much to the amusement of the two fit blokes in the white van stuck going the other way, who obviously felt sorry for the sad middle aged woman laughing manically to herself.
This was because my husband once sang along to Bruce but instead of singing the word fire, he replaced it with Elmer Fudd's pronounciation, "fywer". Try it yourself. I defy you to every be able to listen to this track again without hearing Elmer Fudd and singing along in his voice.
Have you ever noticed how many things are called something, but in actuality are something completely different? In Newcastle we have a large bread bun which is called stottie cake, even though it is not in the least related to cake.
It must be so difficult if English isn't your first language.
Isn't it nice to take pleasure in little things, like sitting in a traffice jam, enjoying great music, chat and fun, and still being able to laugh at yourself and think of rubbish about why bread buns aren't called bread buns, but stottie cakes.
Lots of love
Julia
Dear Chrissy-wissy
Oh boy - I do enjoy reading this blog. Yet again I must state what lovely people listen to your show. I love the detail of people's lives.
Well last night I was alone as hubby was @ the footy. Decided to treat myself by going up to bed early - I LOVE BED. I also missed the end of the Martin Clunes programme as I fell asleep. I woke up when other half came in (after midnight, yikes!). Lay awake for a while thinkinng about work -boo! Next thing I knew, it was the dreaded sound of the alarm and time to start another day. Still as you say Thursday is the new Friday. Looking forward to more eclectic tune selections manana.
Lets all wish for a little bit of sun and a lotta love over t'weekend.
Good evening bloggers everywhere
Mon xx
Evening all,
Tonight could not be more different from last night.
Last night snuggled on the sofa watching the beginning of the storm, with wine and my chosen life partner.
Spent the end of the storm trying to make our third child.
Tonight am a hockey widow, as it's hockey practice for said chap.
Great show tonight, enjoyed the Ascension Island man.
Also interesting to hear views on the blog. I guess that it's not a surprise to learn that the vast majority of shloggers are female - I'm sure more than half think that you will read their blog and proprose or at least fall in love with them!
It's tricky to read a "celebrity blog" as we already "know" who we are blogging and it feels more pry-ish than if it was a complete stranger (although in reality you still are) - it's a bit like a free Hello or OK magazine.
Still once you get over that - it's a great little community and I am regularly uplifted by your thoughts and comments.
Have a good night - especially to those working night shifts.

P.S Have said "computer says no" at work - and I'm a GP!
Hi
Taken dog to vet today. Had a tricky operation
: got cysts on prostrate and found dog also had
female parts still inside him from birth! Dog got through op ok - he is a cocker spaniel. Feel quite drained by it all. Meeting up with someone met on tinternet tomorrow. Have missed your show twice now - will make up for it tomorrow. Picking up dog tomorrow.
Goodnight xxx
Wheres the Bono storiee - you promised!!
Chris
Would you deicate one of your shows to the phrases
mild abrasive
and/or
brackish water
They are my favourite phrases.
Almost as good as the word "plinth"
Regards
Good music on the show tonight, nice to hear a bit of Blood Sweat and Tears.
Loads of new people on the blog, cool hearing how you all spend your evenings. Mine are spent ( like so many of you) with my lovely, lovely children. Last night we had latin translation, Egypt, Maths, piano, trumpet and then dinner with my Parents who enthralled us with tales of their trip to Italy. Tonight is is not disimilar.....just a different set of homework.
Just thinking about Chris's comment on fun rather than (casual) nookie...thats good, takes all the pressure off.
Then again I am still thinking about the pig and 30minutes
oh and before I forget, did do something else today...spoke to a lovely lady called Charlotte in Powys who is (hopefully) going to let me buy one of her lovely Labradors. She breeds and trains gundogs and I am so excited. New addition to the family, now we are going to be 4!

Hey Chris
Just reading and getting a handle on this blog thing... (am not in the age demographic 6 -12 yrs old, therefore am slooow with the techno stuff)!
Forgive me.
Okay, may i tell you a funny story from my life yesterday? Don't all laugh together and make me laugh, cause it will hurt...and I'll explain why.
My partner and his friend took me hill walking yesterday. I live in Scotland, so its rich pickings up here. We went to Glen Doll (which is amazing as my name is Mary - Mary Doll, gettit!?), and the intention was to do 2 peaks. Don't ask me the names, cause I don't remember!
The first one seemed like a killer, and I thought I'd neeeeever get to the top, then we walked on a path for miles. The scenery was incredible, we saw frogs, toads, deer, grouse, wappits, (sorry rabbits) and loads more. You pass some really pleasant people, who are happy to give you a smile and say hello, and chat a bit as you pass by (just like the way it used to be in the olden days, according to my mum)!
The pass took us to a peak, that overlooked Loch Mick (not sure if thats how you spell it), but it got us three Scottish dafties chuntering on in an Irish brogue for the next few miles.
We talked of everything and nothing, of wished for lottery homes and woolie mammoths (really), of hopes and dreams.
When I arrived at the car park - 14 miles, and 7 hours later, I was a broken women. I ached in places...
But Chris, those views are amazing, and that time spent with close friends is precious. The boys asked me if I'd do that walk again, and I EMPHATICALLY stated NO!
Well thats not true, I would do it in a heartbeat (once I'm not so sore). I would also encourage anyone to give it a bash - the top of the world is achievable and amazing, and its in yours and my backyard!
take care,
Mary
Hi Chris baby,
This is my first time reading the blog, and my first post. Love the show so much- you always cheer me up
This blog has been good reading, lovely to see everyones news.
I spent last night sorting out the house ready for my move. I have a buyer and somewhere lovely to go - just hope it all works out!
Tonight I did housy things that can't be ignored so that I canconcentrate on fun at the weekend.
Tomorrow night I am going to met a lovely friend in town who I only see about once a year so it is going to be great to catch up. We always have such a good time.
Hopefully the next few nights wil be more like yours last night
Off to lovely bed now, my own, alone - ahhhh bliss
xxxx
This is the time I've ventured into blog world, but feel complelled to so.
I was continuosley late for work whilst you were on Radio 1 due to the fact I would sit outside my place of work listening to the show on my walkman. Now you arrive on Radio 2 and I sit outside my house in the car.
It's difficult to explain this to a five and two year old.
Off to Cyprus for a well earned family holiday next week. Can't wait!!
Marky B.
There I was rabbiting on about dogs names and now I've been looking thru the last few days and I can't see any ref to you getting a dog ; but I'm sure I saw a ref. to Marvin as being a good name ; perhaps some one will enlighten me .
Still think MERLIN is a "wizard" name !!!!

Bloomin' 'eck Chris, 9.40am after a night like that. You're made of strong stuff!!
Mind you, i used to wake up really early, looking quite a bit green walk around the house to make sure i was still alive, and then go back to bed until i could stand up without wanting to throw my insides up.
I must be getting old 'cause i drink like a girl now, which isn't a bad thing since i am one! But i remember the days....and i'm only 30!!
The science guy you had on Wednesday was interesting, time to stop getting angry when people piss me off and get smart.
Even though i missed that bit, i bet those sausage butties went down well after last night!!
Angie
Fellow schloggers...
I am becoming a part-timer! Work is interfering, they really are keeping me under the cosh and my evenings are taken up with the 'virtual' boyfriend (as we chat online, phone and text almost every day, he MUST be a boyfriend, even if we have only had one 'encounter' - although not for lack of trying, I can tell you).
I am soooooo happy though! I have woken this morning with a sense of belonging, ease and excitement, all rolled into one! The world is a wonderful place (notwithstanding problems with exes) and I feel so grateful for everything I have/am and am yet to have/be...
Why? People. That's why. My dad once told me not to let the buggers get me down and I try very hard not to let them - some times are easier than others and I'm fortunate to be surrounded by loving family, caring friends and the best work colleagues (and boss!!) you could ask for.
So, thanks to everyone in my wonderful world, for helping to make it so .
P.S. Isn't Friday a grrrrrrreeeeeeeeaaaaaaaat day?
'Morning all you gorgeous people!
f38 - thought your stories were very funny and clever, don't worry if others don't get it!
110 - Piglet!!! Glad to have found you at last. We live in the Ashdown Forest and I've been looking for Piglet for 23 years - absolutely my favourite character amongst Christopher Robin's friends
Carol #128 - Marvin is the name of another Blogger's dog and Chris liked it (so do most or all of us no doubt) and by the way I have a British Blue cat called Merlin
Karen #121, how worrying about your dog, hope he's much better today
and
Rachael #106 this time, great to have you back and your holiday sounds most interesting and unexpected!
Love to all and one and, as Paul Coelho would say, all IS one.

What a life you lead Chris....Enjoy. Same night had different wakening experience . 4am woke with head feeling like it was going to explode then bang eardrum burst with the sound of the sea in my ear.
Weird surreal day after that. Still went to work, but hey doesn't feeling dizzy, giddy and slightly spaced on pain killers change your perspective. Also helps to identify the good things in other people. Loads of genuine offers of support at work (had to go in cos of reasons) but took things nice and slowwww and calm. Friend took one look at me on return and whisked my boisterous three year old away insisting I need quiet and rest. She loves sleep overs with her friends and came back early this morning for cuddles. So cute. Teenage son never been more helpful and considerate.
Flowers for friend and weekend by sea for kids this week I think as a thankyou.
Best part. Good old faithful Hot water bottle. Am off to work soon with it under my arm ready to rest my weary head on an hourly basis. Nother slow and surreal day for me but hey its Friday and life is never dull. Looking forward to the show on my way home.

Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you!
I know you can not hear me but I really was singing out loud for you!
Well done :-)

Howdy pardners
Isn't it RAINING! My poor little car practically floated to work this morning - not good doing a sideways skid into rush hour/school run traffic. Think need to check tyres for a/ Air and b/ Tread.
Last night the boy was still away and I had one of the most enlightening telephone conversations I have ever had. It was one of those conversations that just stay in your head, and it has started a whole new chapter/train of thought. I thought it may keep me awake, but I was SOOOO tired that after a Colin-cuddle (No.3 Cat) I fell into unconciousness until seagulls and Sarah Kennedy woke me up.
ANYWAY, the boy is home tonight, we are getting our computer back from repair (for that read TOTAL REBUILD...), I'm seeing a very good friend for a bevvie or five, so that the boy can rest, bath in peace, and have an early night as he is home tonight and been working very hard, and, last but not least, the boy is home tonight HOORAH!!!! (sorry may have mentioned once before am unable to concentrate as the boy is home tonight...
MYRA! you know what I mean!
EMMA #80 - Love the birthday ideas. Glad it's not just me...
seeze you all later

What happen to HOllY that used to on the Breakfast show ??? all those years ago ???
You are such an interesting bloke Chris, after
reading the first part of your blog I was starting
to think you were getting bored of us all but
then you come back with the second part and
you sound like you still think we're great!
Just been for a long walk around the village; do
you approve of walking while plugged into my
MP3 player? I sometimes think I will get run
over as I get really into the music. Today my
fave track was "Last Night a DJ Saved My Life" -
great stuff. Loved Warney on the show last
night, you are so lucky to have a job where you
get to meet people like that. I serve lunches to
ungrateful kids; not the most fulfilling job!
Happy Friday everyone, busy weekend ahead
for me xx

Hi Piglet #110,
Thanks for the info on the Martin Clunes show. Good luck with the house - I know how you feel - I felt the same way, like a grown up, when I bought my house 12 years ago!! But don't worry - I still haven't grown up!
Also, I know what you mean about being single - I'm the same would be nice to have someone to snuggle up with but not too bothered about being single either.
Have a good day!
TFI Friday fellow bloggers, schloggers and last but not least CHRISTOPH BABY!
Hope you all have a GREAT day - ITS FRIDAY!!!

Morning Mr Evans and all bloggers!
Very excited as off to Pembrokeshire to see my man for the weekend - lots of snuggles etc etc (use your imagination for the rest). 3 hour drive so will get to listen to lots of music - currently got Scissor Scissors, Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, Damien Rice and Keane in the CD wotsit - so a bit of an ecelctic mix but should deal with all traffic situations!
Slightly nervous as meeting his daughter for the first time (he's 20 yrs older than me so she's grown up and married). Oooh 'eck. Must try not to get too drunk this evening. Poo.
Also means I'll miss the show tonight but will catch up on Monday. Hope everyone has a great weekend - I'll be eating and drinking too much so will need to give the gym a battering next week. However, Pembrokeshire is so beautiful we'll be out and about walking along the coastal path so maybe I should just walk faster? Hoping to see seal pups. Marvellous!
Also just heard I've got a job interview next week, which is great, but does mean I've got to drag myself back into the world of pretending I know what I'm doing! How long before someone finds out I just make it up as I go along????
Right, into the car I go - vroom, vroom. Ta ra.
#133 - thank you - they were stories - glad someone gets that
#140 - I HAVE NOT MET HIM!
"one bad apple spoils the whole bunch" that was me yesterday!
Is it just me (stole that from the TOGs) or is there an awful lot of people drinking copious amounts of red wine on this blog? Personally I like a good cider drink. Crisp, refreshing, sometimes a little tangy...Mmmmmm what time do the bars open round here?
Whats your fav tipple then? Should there be a preferred mid-week tipple that don't cause too much head thumping the next morning when sitting staring at the screen and leave the heavy stuff to the weekend? Or is it your ability to handle teh hangover the next day that maketh the man?
Hey Chris
You mentioned Big Kev yesterday and I seem to remember Big Pete on the Saturday show. Do you have any little friends??
The sun's out and it's Friday, yippee have a great weekend everyone.
x
Chris,
Love listening to the show but always kept forgetting to read the blog at work - gets so busy that my mind gets absorbed elsewhere.
So....I'm now covering reception for an hour at the moment as our usual gal is off sick so decided to read the blog! It's keeping me very entertained and I'm no longer a virgin blog reader!!
So much fun to be had in life and such a short time to do it in.....
Looking forward to hearing today's show

F38 (#144) - I knew they were stories, you're no bad apple and you def don't spoil any bunch - I thought it was great and really did laugh out loud when I read it.
Sober Sean (#145) - I'm a red wine girl, just love the stuff. Never drank it until about 4 years ago as I did believe that I hated the stuff (found out it's just white I hate), we were going to France for 3 weeks so I thought I'd better try it and get used to it before we went as I really wanted to do the whole French thing..... hmmm ever since then I've been doing the French thing much too well, even joined the bloody Tesco wine club (hic).
Enjoy the sunshine

Had a great night, it's been raining all week. It's FRIDAY - the rain has gone and we're sooooo ready for the weekend and all the fun it's gonna bring.
Well, I kinda mean, I'm going to be stuck in our new house decorating all weekend, but I get to spend quality time with my other half Neil. All good!!
On Sunday night we're going to visit a kitten which we are buying, it won't be old enough until December to come home with us. We're really looking forward to it. Hope everyone has exciting weekend plans. have a great one!!
I thought Chris's comment about F38 lying was a bit harsh. We all guessed it was a joke. Chris left himself so open to it that someone had to do it.
I wondered if it was one of Chris's friends trying to wind him up. If I was one of his mates the temptation would be very great indeed.
Any councilor will tell you there is no such thing as a joke. Every joke contain a little bit of truth. F38 has given away her fantasy here I imagine.
Nick C.
Well - fellow Friday bloggers ( and Chris when he joins us later!!) I am feeling absolutely fantastic - not really sure why - could be the fantastic sunshine here in North Yorks or could be Friday or could be the massive caffeine intake I am having - will be buzzing all afternoon now!!My work colleagues will be suffering with my jabbering very sooooooooon. They usually don't allow me 'proper' coffee because of how it affects me - but I sneaked off to the italian deli and got a take out!! I am going to have a brill weekend (make up for last weekend which was horrible - no details though cos it's boring)- my gorgeous other half who is my rock/life /best buddy/ and all else will be with me most of the weekend which is also fab.Plus a few drinkypoos with friends to start the weekend tonight- could be a good one!!
Have gr8 weekedn one and all.
lol Jude xx
P.S. looking forward to Chris's blog later ronron.
Heavens to Betsy. First time I've ever done the blog thing (15.9.06). The next thing I knew - two hours had disappeared from my life. Great fun.
Excellent show with Shane Warne on Thursday. Used to think cricket was v boring to watch - until the Ashes. I watched the games on TV with a cricket-mad friend who explained most of the rules/quirks of the game etc and lo! I'm a convert. Warnie's a real character - but what's with the hair?!
Night out with the girls on Saturday. So I expect to greet Sunday with a small but perfectly formed hangover.
Hope everyone has a fab weekend. We all deserve it.
Jennie

Hi Chris, love your blog (and the show) - I am a buddhist nun, so maybe shouldn't be but try to tune in when I get the opportunity..
re getting older - you can't do anything about it! sorry and all that, our bodies age even if we can postpone the worst sometimes for a little while - but we can do something about how we feel about it? Your mum sounds like she's pretty cool and staying cheerful. I wonder if all the resistance actually makes it worse? I know a lot of people in a lot of pain who are happy - and I know a lot of people not in pain who are happy, but I also know a lot of people not in pain who are not happy - so its not the pain/ageing is it? Happiness is a state of mind - maybe if we invested more time into improving our state of mind than holding back the inevitable, we may actually enjoy ourselves a bit more. Just a thought. Pretty sure you've got that sussed, though, these days.
Thanks, Gakyi
