FRIDAY ON MY MIND

Chris Evans | 16:15 UK time, Friday, 2 February 2007

Afternoon RATFANS. what about that damn JOHNNY SAUNDERS moonlighting on Steve Wright and being very good at it too. Right now I'm actually in...

... the office, I'm with the team, yehhh. and Friday is cake day, posh cake day in fact. Mostly chocolate.

Whenever i buy treets for other people I try and make them as unhealthy as possible. Friday is always a triumph, I'll take a picture for you to see.

Cake.JPG

Roll on the weekend, roll on the rugby, can't believe we won the cricket, Tiger's behind in the golf. I think I might have a good few glasses of wine tonight, as somehow, I really do need to slow these days down.

Last night again I closed my eyes and I swear it was no more than a minute before it was time to get up again.

Thirty four minutes to go and here we are sat at the mother ship waiting for main engine start...

ALL REQUEST FRIDAY IS READY TO TAKE OFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those cakes look not too bad. We have cakes on a Friday up here at the Institute, providing we have advance notice that the village baker hasn't been suffering from rhinitis in the last couple of days. He has a chronic problem, and on more than one occasion I've seen something drip from his nose into a chocolate eclair.

    G'day mates,

Once again I have been a-travelling, but I am home now for the forseeable future.

So, what can I tell you...

New Zealand is a fab place full of fab people and squashed possums. Must admit some of their pastimes are a bit nuts (the people, not the possums though I think they may be a bit crazy too) and I would have loved to had a go at many of them but alas I did not have the time. Thats the problem with the coach tour, you tend to find that you get 45 minutes in each place you stop at before heading off elsewhere. I would go again, but drive myself. Anyway, I was away during the wind storms we had here but heard about them on the news so called my brother who was looking after things here. I was told that I was missing some roof, and one of my cats - Growler - had taken to living in the roof cavity and wouldn't come out. He kept checking on her and she was ok so I was relatively happy.

We returned 2 weeks later, and as I pulled into the drive the roof fixer upper man was leaving. I went into my home to find my cats and check the fish and could here a distant mewing, really quite pitiful and sad so a-wandering down the garden I went but could not find the source of the so sad mew. Returning back to the house the mew grew louder and I realised that the roof fixer upper man has fixed up my roof with Growler still inside! So the tiles were soon taken off again, and out she popped her little head, looking really rather bemused and just slightly agitated. I dread to think what may have happened had we not been due back that day!

I'll update more later, after CE has blogged.

So ... why is it Blue Monday for me, especially after Charis had such a great birthday on Saturday? Well, she has been up since midnight last night being horrendously sick - I had to bath her and myself at 1.30am it was so bad! Poor wee lass was falling asleep in the bath! Would have taken a photo, but had a bed to change too, so couldn't faff around. So now, 3 bed changes, and 5 pj changes later, she's sitting in her wee pink armchair watching CBeebies. I am absolutely knackered! The whole house was woken up with it all, and poor Ann (of the Clan MacLeod - there can be only 1!) was on at 7am, and hubby at 9am! The joys of parenthood, huh? They may well bestow themselves upon you one day, Christoff!

    Greetings,

    Long time no blog!
Does anyone know if Chris is a shareholder in flikr.com. I'm surprised the 大象传媒 let him link his photos to an external photo site otherwise.

    Happy Monday!

    Afternoon All!

Phew what a weekend! Almost glad it's Monday, so that I can get some rest (as if!!).

Third AND fourth dates completed with A since I last blogged (Friday's isn't here for some reason...) and also managed a netball match, the England Rugby match and a girls night out in between! Am very tired now, especially since I had to get up at 4.30 this morning to take parents to airport...., so you see, it really is a little mad! Have planned fifth date for tomorrow night...

Looking forward to your Monday observations Chris!

Hope you all had as FAB a weekend as me! Ooh, just four days to go before it starts all over again!!!

    S xx.

PS - when do you stop counting dates and also, when does it become polite NOT to date anyone else? M, K AND D are all offering....

    Godd Afternoon All!!

Susan, Highland Lass - thanks for your concern - hangover MUCH improved!! I should know better at my age (37) but somehow i always forget how rough i'll feel the next day!! Maybe they add something to red wine?!

Sammie - date counting.....interesting. I think after number of dates you move onto counting how many weeks, then months you've been 'seeing' each other. When you marry the counting thing moves into years and when kids arrive it then moves onto the age of the kids. After 2 kids (B:7 and G:9) and almost 13 years of marriage the edges are getting blurry....or maybe that's the wine again!!

Hey ho!! Don't know about you lot but my day feels like its lasted a week. Should be kickboxing tonight but don't think i can be bothered.

    Jo xx

Love the show Chris & never miss it. I was a bit cross last night though... the lady vegetarian talking about her mars bar predicament made me & the kids talk back to the radio!! My 6 yrs old twin boys & my 8 yrs old daughter all have a restricted diet . The 2 boys get poorly if they eat gluten containing foods & my daughter has a severe nut allergy. The lady vegetarian has chosen to restrict her diet. My kids have no choice but to avoid many foods - but they don't complain & neither should she. I have nothing against her being a principled veggie - just her getting her mad up over mars bars!!!

Feel much better now I've let you know!

Please say hello to my 4 kiddies & make their day if you can. Thank you!!

    Hi Chris
Love the show. I am down at the Open on Sat and cant wait!
I am a serving RAF officer at RAF Lossiemouth and am the Captain of the RAF Lossiemouth Golf team and we play at Moray Golf Club, that course with the low flying aircraft. We will be having our amatuer 5 day open next week - its the best in the UK. You should come up for a game and if you can make it up that week you will find the best atmosphere in UK amateur Golf!
