SORRY ABOUT YESTERDAY AND WELCOME TO TODAY.
Still haven't knowingly missed a blog as such but...
... yesterday no one could get in, not even I.
Today though, it seems we are fixed, so here goes.
I was lying in the bath looking out of the window at the weather this morning, the day was, as yet, undecided. Next, it was my belly, which has lost it's bulk - a good thing but in doing so has become a little "fleshy," - a bad thing. Then I started wondering how long my magic lotion had been revitalising my scalp for and whether it was time to wash it out. Finally, as the water continued to cooI, I plumped on the subject of faith.
I hardly know anything but I'm interested in everything and at the moment I'm focused on faith. So what this ends up meaning is that I read a lot of books, great books by very clever people and then end up totally convinced of anything they say. I'm like an opinionless piece of dough - d'oh !
"The God Delusion" is having it's wicked way with me at the moment, so far it's got me to thinking I'm a pantheist. I'll be more confused for you tomorrow.

Happy Humpday folks....... that's if this makes it through the ether. Mr E how deep was that bath water? Pantheist - I would agree with that. I think most religions that believe in a God, also believe that he is in everything and everywhere. Am ready to be shot down in flames over that comment but hey ho, am I bovvered?
Hazel could it have been some undigested bakewell tart edges? I will give the next batch a sound bashing. I have some banana bread today - do you want a slice?

Hi Chris - read your blog this morning and am totally confused too, perhaps we should form a totally confused club - where's my tablets.......
Pantheist. Most certainly not a bad thing to be. Although just because you are interested in everything, doesn't mean you have to believe in everything.
Interesting debate. Perhaps we should all get together and have a debate. But that's not for here.
My dad (the Royal Marine) used to lie in the bath and contemplate his Naval. But that's probably not for here either.

Hi Chris et al!
Well I have been absent from the blog for a good few months, but for some reason in the bath last night, i decided today I would re visit! I am pleased to see the blog still gets you thinking!
I have always had big confusions about faith, I have faith and that leads me to have hope. I have never found a religion to fit my faith though. I feel some pieces of some and some of others! The problem is my faith is something I cannot really argue or reason with its just fact what I feel, the only thing I can compare it too is the way I love my son. It doesnt matter what he does I love him, there is no choice or debate to be had it is just fact. Thats like my faith, its not something I have decided, for better or worse its there!
Other than that I am enjoy the cold and its romance, untill january when i will be praying for spring!
Bipolar is starting to swing in the right direction, i.e. i will be bouncing off the walls, one of my favourite people is five months pregnant with a boy after years of fertility treatment..................maybe the world isnt such a bad place after all!

Can't remember the last post that got thro???
Chris, a very thought provoking blog today, I look forward to reading the replies. I too like to read and 'gen up' on syuff. As for religion, I have my thoughts that there is 'someone' up there watching over me but nothing deeper than that - sorry.
DD - how was your weekend? What did you think of our lil' ol' city? Did you see missy drunk & disorderly?? (only kidding missy x)
Hope that everyone out there is fine. Unlucky to the egg chasers and Lewis Hamilton. Can't do better than your best. Keep the cup half full please! Apart from the football team...
...don't get me started on them.
Gaby and Martin - you ok? Longtime no see?

Umm, yes, OK. Whatever.
Haze. Yup, 'dad' was on fine form last night. Anyone who can get that excited about bean sprouts and cress deserves his own show.
Maybe with the cone man?
It is a tale of two Indians this week. Tomorrow, we're off to the local ruby house to catch up with friends, and then on Saturday, we go west, young man, to one of the finest Indian restaurants in the big smoke.
And, someone else is paying!
My tan is holding up well and I feel fit as a fiddle and am sleeping like a baby.
Life is good.

We've 'ad Lewis 'amilton might 'ave won the championship, might not (PS I 'ope 'e doesn't win it by default, what about poor Kimi - 'ows 'e gonna feel losing after winning), the blog blown working, not working. You gonna eat a jacket spud, then not, BC 'ouse on fire, then not, me demented, then not, me wantin' a McD's large milkshake, then not, me last Thur & Fri jokes ere, then not, me movin' 'ouse, then not, then I am.... it's all damn stress blog friends!!!

PPS CLP - On a serious note very sorry to hear about the passport situation while on your break. Life is ere ter try us - am tellin' yer!!!!
Ho hum hi everyone,
Just checking in and realised that I too hadn't really put anything much on for a few days - I have a note honest.
Hazel glad to hear you have the gall stoned (sorry stones) very painful I hear to pass.
Tinsel {{x}} hope you got out for a nice walk yesterday or was it the day before - sorry lost it.
Bingo I've missed your wit this week.
Faith - hummmm a subject I support - I occasionally visit the church I like a mixture of the tradition and the new music (ours has a band) but I tend to stay away if the service is just the new style with no bread & wine part. I can say thank you anywhere to him above I don't have to be in church to do it.
I caught the Heston Burger discussion with Wogan this morning but didn't see the programme last night.
I ended up watching the last Silent Witness that featured Amanda Burton, it was a feature length story set in Ireland with lots of flashbacks to 20 years before with the finding of two bodies - who turned out to be brothers holding hands - very poignient indeed.
Right must dash

Baths....now whats all that about eh? People tell me how wonderful it is to lay in the bath.... let the warmth take away the cares of the day, relax and wind down. All I get is hot, bothered and bored? Is it just me? AND there's never enough hot water to keep 'topping it up' as friends advise. I leave it a few months and think, I'll give it another go but hey-ho same again...hot, bothered and bored. Showers now thats the way to go. xx
Em,
I'm loving the cold too - it smells crisp and Christmassy; of anticipation of bonfires, treat or treating and jacket potatoes.

I know what you mean about loving the cold - it smells crisp and Christmassy; anticipating bonfires, treat or treating and jacket potatoes (maybe eating them outside is safer too).

Hello everyone, missed you all yesterday!
Now I love a good long bath. My friends laugh because I lay there and read a book while soaking. A perfect treat for me is a hot bath at the end of teh day with aromatherapy oils, candles, a glass of red wine and a good book. I'm lucky enough to have one of those whirlpool jacuzzi baths so once I'm in........
Now let's see if these goes through!

I'm having dire problems trying to submit - 502 errors everytime.
Now I'm trying to send this so that the BP Police get the message..

Blog don't work.... we're all doomed!
Arrgh is this the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s way of cutting back - the 502 error has been plaguing us all day and no one has fixed it yet.
I am still hoping that somewhere in the ether all our emails are getting through as masses of duplications - I feel really sorry for the author approving them today.
I hope the blog gets better soon it's definitely on the sick list.

Greetings and Salutations from Vancouver,
Having been away from the blog for a while, merely as a contributor as I am still an avid reader, it feels good to be back. After a rough year, things are heading in the right direction.
With regards to The God Delusion, it truly is a fascinating read. My main and ongoing contention with Professor Dawkins is his inability to afford others the luxury of respect, and I mean truly respect their right to differ in opinion rather than merely paying lip service to such a notion.
My first degree was in Theology and I too am fascinatined by ecclesiastical conundrums, philosophical musings and in general, that which makes me think. Thought is the preamble to opinion and as such, a critical part of the human condition.
Anyway, enough of that serious stuff for now. I hope that each and every one of you and yours is well, healthy and basking in the glory of this thing we call life.
Remember....One day your life will flash before your eyes, so make sure it is worth watching.
Good day to you all.
Dr. T
Well I'm not sure if my last post was lost or will turn up next week sometime.
Basically I just wanted to mention that my friends don't actually stand around and laugh in the bathroom while I'm soaking.......I read my posts back sometimes and they just sound odd!!
About to hit 'Post' wish me luck xx

I do religious studies at uni, and even though I'm an atheist (and that's not changing), I find new ways at looking at my beliefs. As my lecturer said, in an epiphany moment for me: Believing that the universe was created from nothing (The Big Bang Theory) is no less absurd than believing it was created by God.
Let's hope this works this time.
Love from Down Under, VaughnJess.
Aaah Faith, greater powers, the cosmic force!
I had a discussion in a bar once with a chap about our faith and what we believe in. (In my best Paul Whitehouse voice) We were very very drunk!
My line to the guy was, I was forced to go to church by my mother when a child and truly believed that God was this immortal, invisible being who was everywhere and saw everything that you did and didn't do, and was judgemental!
I then grew up enough to make the decision to stop going to church, however I never stopped believing in a greater being or power. However, I decided that the judgemental thing was just told to us in bible-study to keep us good, and was quite frankly phooey!
In short, I believe in something, but it my not necessarily be "GOD", however, I do believe that faith only gets screwed up when people try to direct other people's beliefs to match their own.
I believe that all those that believe in a higher power are all believing in the same thing, they just call it something different depending upon the paths they have been guided down by their elders in the past!
Anyway that's a bit deep for pre-crack of sparrows. HL Full beams on huh?

YAY! Littlest Hobo...a friend, who I haven't seen since about May, suggested we meet for a small libation. So we did. And had a very jolly time.

How odd you should say that Mr Dissing. My boss very nearly ran me over this morning as I attempted to cross the very dodgy dark road, just after going under the STREMELY dodgy dark bridge (that I'm sure you know), which are between the bus stop and work. His excuse was that I was clad in black (rehearsing for next Wednesday night donchaknow) and he didn't see me. I told him he should bl**dy well be looking where he's going anyway...or put his full beam on...

Thirsty Thursday already....... whilst we await Bingo's contribution - here's a 'tiddler' to be going on with. Always assuming it can get/or is allowed through.
A married man was having an affair with his secretary. One day they went to her place and made love all afternoon. Exhausted, they fell asleep and woke up at 8 pm. The man hurriedly dressed and asked his lover to take his shoes outside and rub them in the grass and dirt. He put on his shoes and drove home. "Where have you been?" his wife demanded. "I can't lie to you," he replied, "I'm having an affair with my secretary. We had sex all afternoon." She looked down at his shoes and said: "You lying b*st*rd! You've been playing golf!"

Many apologies if you've used it before, but we thought it may be new.

New person here. Faith hmmm.... tried em all, Mormon, Christian, Islam etc.etc and gotta tell you... Fell upon Daishonin Buddhism and there I stopped, been there 9 years now with the likes of Orlando Bloom, Courtney Love, Tina Turner. Fact is, believe in yerself, do good stuff for others, be positive cos its all gonna be alright as long as you try yer best. Oh yeh, and you can kill bugs and not feel guilty (as long as you close your eyes when you do it)
Why dont you try Hillsongs London Church which is on every Sunday at the Dominion Theatre, they have 3 services on a Sunday and about 10,000 people attend over the 3 services, there are so many people go you could slip in unnoticed. Most of the people wo attend are young and have experienced a real "God thing" I challange you to go once and then let me know what you think
