I think the way the newspapers have gone for Steve McClaren today is shameful, predictable too and worst of all nasty, personal.
Don't get me wrong I thought he was anawful manager but he was, after all, only doing his job. So what if he got a huge pay off, those were the terms of his contract, that's not his fault, wouldn't everybody take a cheque for £2.5 mill., given the chance ?
Also, all this stuff about his thinning hair, what the stuffin' nonsense has that got to do with anything ? For heaven's sake ! So flippin' purile.
The front pages should instead have concentrated on a far more sinister individual - a radio friend of mine said on his show today, apparently Ian Huntley needs a liver transplant and has gone yellow, let's hope he turns blue. And so say all of us !

I've got good news blog friends, i've just 'ad a SNAP weekend in rehab after going abit unbalanced on Thur but am ok know, sorry now!
At rehab i've 'ad The Darkness's albums played ter me continuously, album 1 & album 2 alternating every 'our!!! 'ence i'm know sane again........ but only just!
Bit quiet on the blog...... 'ope it wasn't me WW3 commentations?
If so i'd just like ter say Nostradamus 'as been proved wrong again as i've read 'e's writted WW3 starts in 2007 but the years nearly gone so all is well!!!!!
I thought the Iranians takin' that British boat earlier in the year was it, aka the begining, but all worked out ok in the end...... close one blog friends, close one - am tellin' yer!!!!!

Also don't worry if the Nostra is right, partly, as i've read it involves Southern France & Iran & Britain escapes involvement...... so that's good news!

Not embarressed, Pengiun, everyone's been on Thursday's all weekend.... DOn't know why but there you go...
I agree and disagree, CLP. The British Press are disgraceful with their intrusive ways and highly personal remarks - they should have more respect for others and then hopefully the UK could have more respect for others too.
BUT - Mr McClaren said himself he accepted total responsiblility for the failure of the football team to get to Euro 08. Therefore he should have resigned - if he didn't pass go and didn't collect his big, fat wonga, then tough. He hasn't earnt that money - he should not get it.
Having said that - why did his contract not stipulate achievement of Euro 08 or no more pay.

Another great program as usual. Talking about hairs rising when you gave out the news in your office that 'Naughty Nick' had nicked the chocolate behind the 24th I had to laugh, because it happened to me too. That is so annoying that you are building yourself up to the last chocolate, only to find that it has been snaffled.
My wife has set up an advent calendar on her web site, [https://www.yourpower2be.com] where there are lots of free stuff like ebooks, digital Christmas cards etc. She was going to make all the links live at once but I said that would encourage cheating, even though there would always be something behind the door and that each day would have to be made live one at a time.
I would also like to salute you for your magnificent gesture on your dine and disco evening in running a competition for other people to enjoy the evening.
I know it is all for a very good cause in Children in Need but the auctions on the Wogan show always smack a bit of rich people being able to get to do neat things. Someone may have bid his life savings of £1000 to do something and get outbid by another who looks on £20,000 as loose change, so your competion for tables was a really great gesture.
