I set myself up on the sofa with sleeping bag, duvet, pillows etc. By half eleven it was a foregone conclusion so I tippy-toed up the wooden hills to join my wonderful hubby in slumber-land. Then got rewdly awakened at 5.45 this morn ..... grrrrrrrr ...... and it was still raining!

Still baffled about the scores going 15, 30, 40, Deuce etc.

SBP - sorry bout the venue..pants, but as everyone has said, its for a reason.... the wedding i went to recently had the same problem..only 8 wks before the wedding! Found somewhere else and it was fabulous.... and by coincidence, the bride knew the other people who the original venue had double booked and they said it was not impressive at all.... poor service, cold food and just generally rubbish.

So, stop rocking, keep looking and all the best for a great place to turn up!

Howya fellas! It's back I am again from Hurricane Paddy-lashed Dublin, just off HMS Zanussi in time to hear Drive Time and the fabulously sweet Ellie, what a STAR bless her.

So delighted was I to be listening again as I hurtled along the A55 Cresta Run that I rang in to Womans' Minute, only to lose me network when they rang me back. Bugger. Ah well it's just as well, I've shown meself up enough in the past so me head is back safely below the parapet, hurrah.

Anyway, with regard to What I've Lost, can I report that Renee has lost the remote to her digi-box whatsiname and has had 2 weeks to find it but no, it's still lost. I did think it would turn up in the phone charger, the freezer or perhaps on the X-Ray of next-door's Jack Russell's lower bowel, but despite all efforts and prayers to Saint Anthony it's well and truly gorn. Gorn to the place where all the odd socks and hairgrips go. An Ex-Remote.

I myself drifted in and out of consciousness in front of the tennis; tennis being the only sport I ever remotely willingly participated in at school. Not because I was any good; I was utterly useless, possibly the worst sportswoman in the history of Upholland Borstal for Young Ladies, and my talent for tennis was no exception; but boy was I the best dressed. Right down to me frilly knickers. Oh yes. Ergo Fair Play to Andy. I wish he'd give us a titter, mind.

Right I'm off to climb into me jimmies and scale a pile of washin' that would daunt Rannulph Fiennes.

Don't you be laughin' at my frilly knickers, they nearly caused a riot on one occasion when a wasp obviously mistook my rear end for a giant dahlia, flew straight up me skirt and got lost amongst the frills. It took 3 weeks before my bottom, flayed by the bessy mate's racquet in an attempt to slay the invader, healed over and I could once again sit down quickly before said bessy mate whipped me chair from under me just as the dishy rugby lads walked past.

It's no laughin' matter. I'll have to go lie down now. It's all come floodin' back.

I was missing a hardback book for a long time and had to go and purchase a paperback so that the collection looked complete - I had some visitors over 4 months later and one of them saw it under the sofa whilst they were rooting out childs toy which had been launched under the sofa in the forelawn hope that said parent would play along and play fetch.

Tea sounds delish Beesmum - esp if u didnt have to cook it yourself!

I have two fussy eaters though (the two eldest males). Takes some of the pleasure out of cooking when they don't like to experiment. Meat and two veg is the norm. Show them a tomato, courgette etc and see their faces!

Cooking for Dummies.

Two Chicken Breasts cut into pieces.
Two Red peppers Diced.
One large onion.
Tomotoe puree.
One can of Tomatoes.


Place into oven proof dish, drissle with Olive Oil and add garlic (if Liked). Cover with foil and leave to cook slowly on low heat for hr 40 mins.

Serve with pasta or rice.

Clodagh: as always you are hilarious! As for praying to St Anthony - he has never, and I mean NEVER, let me down. Couple of weeks ago MrS had lost his bank card. I said to him "say a quick word to St Anthony, he'll help you find it". MrS is not a Catholic, but I told him St Anthony really wouldn't mind! 15 mins later, MrS calls me to say he had found the card ...... and he was now completely spooked!

Cheryl, I don't do the FaceAche thingy either, gives me the heeby-jeebies to be honest; but if I can dig out me recipe for chocolate cake made with mayonnaise, yummy yum yum..I discovered it years ago and it sounded so disgusting I had to try it out. Marvellous. Has the texture of molten lava and would probably hold up to Hurricane Gustav but as I say, yummy yum.

Now then. Renee is having a spectacular tantrum.

Brewing up in her fluffy dressing gown with a polo mint stuck to the back and wearing her little leopard-print slippers, I spotted that her feet are very blue. Now then it has to be said that I tease Renee mercilessly about her little pigs' trotters on a regular basis, to which she responds with "Ey, you'll never be as funny as your face.." but however. She's on loads of tablets and rat poison (Warfarin) so I've made an appointment and am taking her to see the doctor.

This particular doctor she's never quite trusted since her next door neighbour died of a Pulled Muscle (the muscle in question turned out to be his heart) and shortly afterwards another one popped off with cystitis. (Kidney failure.) When the undertaker arrived and asked about his demise, he said, horrified, "Ooh, Mrs. S., I don't think you can die of cystitis", she retorted "You can round here."

So wish me luck. She's got a face on her like a red mullet and is mutterin' profanities under her breath. Summat about a Fatwa.

Workman not having sugar is just so wrong SBP. I thought it was par for the course that they have at least 4 sugars in tea. Workmen don't oft do coffee either, in my experience. Which can be a pain, as tea takes longer to make than coffee ....
