Been in early again... the muse was calling for The Drivetime Christmas Drama (It's not a panto !)

Chris Evans | 13:58 UK time, Tuesday, 16 December 2008

So just the 150,000 sales of...

... Hallelujah to beat then to get to Christmas number 1.

NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.

What we could do is bask in the number three that we have gratefully achieved and go for...

"THE QUICKEST SINGLE TO ENTER THE TOP TEN AND THE NEXT WEEK NOT EVEN BE IN THE TOP 100."

Alright, so Pudsey may lose out on a few quid but hey, a record's a record.

Went out for a beer with The Feeling last night. Such COOL bananas. Real nice guys. And they could take the pace too.

Read every single post today, I often do - just so you know. Doesn't take me long. Good to hear your comments on the lads and lasses in HM forces.

Clive Anderson has just been in to talk about a show he is doing at the weekend. He's a pretty cool dude as well. I love it here.

Wearing an old pair of Gazza's shorts today. England one's that he actually played in. Getting a bit of stick from the heathens, they just don't understand, or is it because I'm wearing them over my trackies, like a numpty?

Off now to see what I can find in the way of anything that may be going.

David Jacobs stars in tonight's episode of... THE DRIVETIME CHRISTMAS MIST - ERY. DEADLY'S there again also and of course JONNY in his, so far yet unseen, green tights.

Missed the potted radio drama last night so will try later to do listen again and listen to both parts. Yes numpty indeed for wearing shorts over trackies even if they are famous ones.

Nice to see you are still keeping up with the blog entries - it's a tough job some days depending on the topics.

A chap called callsign67 the other day even asked for a forces blog - so they can have a chat about their topics - not sure that would be allowed by the MOD though - good luck to all our forces and emergency services for the festive period they will all be extremely busy as usual.

Keep up the good work Chris.

Thanks for saying you read the blog - I hope its not too dull for you :-)

Need to listern again to the drive time drama so I am upto date for today - just let me finish all my calls/meetings etc first

I am proud of our no 3 entry - it took a lot of hard work to get there and is nothing to be embarrssed about (note the our no 3 - as if I had anything to do with the single)

    Super bpx

    Morning/Afternoon everyone.

Christmas traditions.... well it HAS to be football on boxing day doesn't it. When I was in the mother country I always used to go and watch.... now I'm in the colonies I have to make do with the games on TV...... oh well......

Sorry to here about the accident DD. Hopefully you got the guys details and he pays a kings ransom for your pain and suffering......

Sounds like the Scottish meeting went very well yesterday. Wish I could have been there. Looking forward to hearing more details and seeing the pics.....

PS I'm off to buy my singles this week and hopefully it will stay in the top 5 and earn stacks of dosh for Children in Need.

The Halleujah song version I like best is that from Blake.

This blog this year has kept me sane, given me new acquaintances and provided a source of fun, frivolity and laughter and that was just your blog entries - the bloggers ones are the top of the milk but you have to have the milk there first.

    Afternoon CLP

Now look here hun - we all know you're Superman Superstar DJ so there's really no need to go wearing your (or Gazza's) shorts over your trackies! Really Christophe!

Great mental image now forming in my Diva brain tho .....

And thanks for letting us know you read the blog. Dare we dare you to get yoself a user name and join in a FNWC in 2009?

    Random ramblings indeed!

    Keep up the good work.

  • Comment number 9.

CLP How lovely to know that you're still chuffed with being able to wear Gazza's England shorts and yes of course you should do (even if like a numpty!). I love the idea that even the rich and famous are still a bit star struck by their hero's even if the said hero has become a friend!

Glad to hear that you read the blog too... see that makes us all feel a little closer to you (one of our famous heros) and that gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Talking of the feeling they were brilliant last night and it's good to know they're top chaps too.

The drama of Jonny's green tights is enough to keep us all in suspenders!!

    Hey all

CLP you really do know how to cheer us all up! Shorts over trackie bottoms.....I love it!

Not posted for a while but having just caught up with yest....wanted to say to bingo esp but all bloggers....

I'm a cappie and I've truly had what has felt like the worst year ever...and i read all my stars etc, i'm quite into meditation, spiritual stuff etc....and sometimes ask myself maybe life was easier when I didn't think about any of this stuff?! right with you on the pluto thing. Have read that for everyone (not just Caps but esp if a Cap) that all toxic 'stuff' must go and mostly that's about our toxic thoughts!? this can be very challenging but of course whoever said it was easy?! We all look at CLP and think 'that's great. He's so lucky!' But what pain he has had to go to reach where he is now?! So i'm planning to keep my thoughts positive and am not reading trashy papers/mags or listening to Jeremy Vine (sorry but think this show is very very negative!)

And any other advice from Bingo much appreciated....from fellow Capricorn x x

    Hi Dreamer

Just read your post. I'm not a capricorn, I'm a gemini, but I feel like I'm searching for 'something' too at the mo. Have realised that recently I've been reading so many books on spirituality etc, trying to find out what I'm meant to do next!! I feel like I've reached a plateau, I'm not unhappy but I do feel like there's more I need to do, and am really trying hard to find my direction, if you know what I mean?!!

Anyway, no help, but just wanted you to know you (and Bingo!!) are not alone in your quest for a better way of living!

thank you that's good to know i'm not the only one!!! sometimes I feel like i'm going mad! been trying to get change of job and no success...have ideas for business but uncertain with current status of the economy! Not very positive huh?! If I didn't have a 15 year old daughter think I'd be off to that buddist retreat for a long time!!!

Sounds like you are in a better place than y ou think you are though! Perhaps suddenly it all just fits into place!

(Psst - referring to yesterday - you should have grammar checked today - "one's" shouldn't have an apostrophe)

I'm really sad about Wogan and Jones's single. Maybe you should have released it yesterday instead of last week? :(

Better luck next year though! (You are going to try again next year aren't you?!)

  • Comment number 19.

Sparkly, I just copied your stars for today from a site I visit every day!!!! So maybe you're well on your way! My partner is gemini too so don't worry I'm not madly checking up on your stars!!!

    dreamer
    xx

You have very nice stars right now, as we head into Christmas. Your planet Mercury is as busy as ever and right now is heading first for a harmonious link to Uranus and then to Saturn. This suggests that if change is what you want, change is something you can get now. Moreover, what changes you do manage to put on the board now should last long-term. The recent Full Moon in your sign may have brought some emotions to the surface which needed dealing with, but ultimately, that’s a good thing, non?

  • Comment number 20.

    OUCH!

D'ya remember last year (I think) when I slipped into the fire, landing on the burning coals and causing burning to my hand and arm?
Well, not quite the same, but have sliced finger open on the blummin' thing now. That fire has got it in for me I tells ya! Thats why a new one is down on my 'wants' list for next year.

Chris, its great to know that you read each post on a regular basis, although sometimes makes me cringe over what has been written, and also makes me curious as to if you have a favourite blogger, or if you would put any of us on your dinner party guest list - but probably not.

I was gonna comment on spirituality but think I may offend, so shall STFU now.

    MW, a!

  • Comment number 21.

Ooh Thanks Dreamer! And I wouldn't mind if you were checking my stars lol!!!

Sounds as if we're very similar, me with my 18 year old daughter, still living at home, (and a dog and a cat) - and no money, so I can't just escape either!!

Maybe that's what it is - making time for ourselves next year to get away for a while and do something spiritual! Love the idea of a retreat. Saw someone on TV who went to visit a Buddhist one in Scotland (can't remember when or where) that looked fab. Mind you, one in Nepal would be better ha ha!!!

My take on a certain story:

Oh hunny thank you for the lovely pear tree and stuffed bird you left on my doorstep this morning – the pears will be really nice next year.

Hunny you really shouldn’t have gone to all that trouble to give me two lovely concrete birds for the garden – such a nice surprise this morning.

Hunny the 3 hens with garlic hung around their necks were a welcome present and will be cooked to perfection – did you really want the garlic in a sauce?

Another surprise this morning and it was 4 tiny bird ornaments to add to the garden – the garden will look very interesting this year; thank you hunny.

Oh my today you gave me 5 rings all different but in a gold colour – not sure what to do with some of them but you did say you would let me know later – hmmm

    More later

I'm no fan of X factor , never having watched it, but I have to say that the song from the lass that won is a hundred times better than the Wogan/Jones effort.

The Jones boy has a fine voice, it's just a pity about that old Irish bloke parumping away in the background.

Paul Gambaccini just a very good piece on Christmas songs on Steve Wright.

Ave fixed me computer after me out the window incident and gave it a lick of red paint as that's the in colour at pres for laptops!!!!!
It wazza silver HP baby but now it looks more like a bottle of red HP ketchup!!!!!!

CLP - Woooooooooo man I read above The Muse ave been calling!!!!!!
I 'ope their gonna be one of this weeks live bands!!!!!!!
Starlight waz my fav new tune of 2007 or waz it 2006???? Time flies blog friends!!!!
Either way Muse and Starlight live on yer show would be most operationally good!!!!!
Lookin' forward ter the Ting Ting dudes terneet..... THAT IZ ME NAME..... NO IT'S NOOT!!!!!!@@!!!@!

Big thanks again ter everyones nice comments aimed my way... yuv all given me a BIG lift - BIG TARR TER ALL... I keep saying this but you are all so nice and it makes me water carry on blogging and try ter entertain you all abit with me mad blogs and terrible jokes!!!!!!!!

Dreamurdream - Very interesting you ave ad a bad 08 too, being a fellow cap operatative!!!!!!
If you think about it 08 'as been very outstanding for all caps - good or bad no middle of the road for us dudes!!!!!
CLP's wife Tash.... looks like she's one of the lucky caps (31st Dec) if she's gonna ave 'er first child before 'er birthdee and Lewsi 'amilton won 'is first F1 world championship!!!!.... They are the one's were 08 was outstanding in a good way!!!!!!
But alot of us ave 'ad an outstandingly bad year - Jenson Button bad and now Honda F1 selling up and the bloke I waz born on the very same day as Giancarlo Fisichella 'ad 'is worst ever year in F1 - nil points.... NYET point and always last!!!!!!
I've written this before and a know it sounds mad but ave noticed 'ow me and Fisi's lives follow a very similar pattern.
Fisi was signed ter drive for ForceIndia F1 again next year but a month ago after ForceIndia joined force with the McLaren F1 team for 09 - which is brill news but then rumours circled a month ago that Fisi was gonna be dropped as McLaren/ Mercedes F1 wanted their own driver ter drive for ForceIndia.
This means Fisi 'as 'ad a very dark/ black November - just like me!!!!!!!
Yesterdee I got a letter from my other favourite lady I met in Ukraine, the one who I didn't get engaged to. It waz a difficult choice between 'er, Nika or Inna instead I went for Inna, mainly 'cos she's in the same situation as my mother waz as a single parent and I wanted ter 'elp 'er. But sadly it was a big mistake as Inna just couldn't open up to me as she's got so many problems, although we goot on so well.
I tryed to recontact the other lady, Nika, and thought i'd lost 'er - I got on really well with Nika too.
But after I wrote to 'er she didn't reply for a while - I thought she was annoyed I got engaged ter Inna and as a result didn't wanter see me again.
But yesterdee she wrote me a very nice letter saying she really likes me and she waz so upset when I goot engaged ter Inna but she very much would like ter see me again.
So this 'as given me an extra big lift!!!!!!!!

Also yesterdee... it's been announced Fisi is noot gonna be dropped by ForceIndia and they and McLaren do want 'im for 2009 - AGAIN my similarities between me and Fisi 'appening - I know it sounds mad but ere's one example of 'ow I notice this pattern often repeats!!!!!
Maybe there is alot more ter the stars/ zodiac than we realise!!!!!!
Or maybe am just a mad nutter!!!!!!!!
    Big coincidence though all!!!!!!@!

PS ALL - I spotted Inna on another agency website the other dee - Didn't take 'er very long ter get over me or the death of 'er mother.... thought meeting men would be the last thing on 'er mind!!!!!!
Maybe she is just using men and 'as no interest of love!!!!!
PS A don't rate this agency either. I met Inna at Khersongirls.com which if any single blokes out there or CLP's single bloke friend (the one with the big nose) is considering trying ter find love in Ukraine I would reccomend it - Khersongirls is genuine and I met many very nice ladies - just made the wrong choice... story of me life all!!!!!!

    Das veedanya blog dudes!!!!!!!!

(PS see this link if yer wanter know what Inna looked like - she is a beaut but sadly were noot mean't ter be all)

This is todays horoscope for us Caps...

Some Cappies have been feeling a little under the weather lately and who can blame you? You have had Mars attacking your planet Saturn which is enough to send anyone racing home to hide under the doona. And you’ve got the planet of detox Pluto in your sign. Which means? Actually, believe it or not, any times you feel less than well right now could actually be a part of a detox process that Pluto brings. Obviously, if pain persists see a doctor, but if it’s a fleeting yukkiness, it could be for the best.

Bingo - I did wonder if he'd get the Saw Doctors on - he was talking about them a lot a wee while ago, but they are touring the UK right now so maybe they won't have the time.

    Evening each

Well, you ALL should have been there! A great night in Glasgow. Gossiped about you all for Scotland!!!!

Chrissie, Mary, Dozy,EG, Susan, the gorgeous little girls and the long-suffering Mr. Susan, who's trousers were falling down so he had to go and buy a belt!! Forgot to mention that, girls!!

    Lovely, lovely people.

Got home about 12.30, couldn't sleep so read Russel Brand's Booky Wook till about 2.30, then had real problems getting up this morning.

Susan and family off to Arran today for a week, hope the crossing wasn't too windy Suse.

Would someone please remind me to take the next day off when we organise the next Scottish meet.

Oh, and Bsmum, the little girls were dressed in their best red dresses, and the littlest'un was like a little hot water bottle.
She never uttered a sound - just slept or looked around with her big blue eyes.

That was the money shot show Baby.

Christophe...I'm just wondering where you got the phrase 'COOL BANANAS'..?

I've been saying that for about 4-5 years...ever since I heard one of my section managers (who was from New Zealand) say it...and it struck a chord...

    So, you?

I would love to meet up with all you fellow bloggers. You'll be one of the first items on the list next visit, after visiting the hallowed football turf of course..... just kidding, or am I????? LOL

  • Comment number 87.

Bond - would the hallowed turf be Newcastle by any chance?? They won at the weekend!!!! First time this century I think.

If so, there's a wonderful old pub outside the grounds called The Strawberry. Sawdust on the floor, no seats to speak of and filled with lovely Geordies.

Hi Annie-G, My hallowed football turf is a little further south, but the pub sound appealing. I have never been to St James' park.....

  • Comment number 90.

Have only ever been to St. James' Park to see the Rolling Stones in the eighties. I don't do footie.

The Strawberry (if it's still there) is filled with artists and musicians standing around (cos there's no seats) yakking and drinking.

  • Comment number 91.

Oh, and I did see Bob Dylan there too. He was rubbish!! Stoned out of his mind.

  • Comment number 92.

My first ever game was away at St James's... never been so scared in all my life!!! Not that there was any trouble or anyfink I was just a scardey-cat as all I ever knew of footy before was growing up and all the violence... needless to say I have never looked back.

Bond I'll keep your footy hallowed ground a secret hon ;))

    Luv
    Lyndyloo

  • Comment number 93.

Lyndyloo: I too would be scared at a footie match in Newcastle. Specially if it was against Sunderland!!!!!

It's a bit like the Rangers/Celtic games up here!!!!

    xx

  • Comment number 94.

    Thanks lyndy....LOL

One of the worst games I have ever been to was Rangers v Celtic. You could cut the hatred in the air with a knife....... Good match though.....

  • Comment number 95.

I've done an old firm game too... that was pretty awsome! -x-x-

  • Comment number 96.

Annie-G, Never really liked Bob Dylan as I could never understand what he was saying let alone singing....... I had some friends that travelled 500 miles to go and see him once...... I declined the numerous offers to go.

  • Comment number 97.

Well I keep popping in here, reading posts, going of to do stuff. Then I come back and can't remember what I wanted to say!

Ok, DD thanks for telling me about the soldiers families being informed well in advance etc. That's good to know.

Bingo, Inna is beautiful but if it wasn't meant to be you are better off. There is someone out there for you. I know someone that is just getting re-married now at 60. Don't ever give up.

    Back soon lovely people.

  • Comment number 98.

Lyndo, I last went in the late 80s when Terry Butcher and Chris Woods were playing for Rangers.... Great games, an awesome time to be an Englishman in Scotland....... I'll have to tell you about it sometime.....

  • Comment number 99.

    Hi Debbie-C....

  • Comment number 100.

Oooo Bond: An Englishman in Scotland?? Scary!!

And you don't like Bob Dylan?? I know, not the world's best singer, but you have to admit, he wrote some wonderful words. In my humble opinion, a poet of our time!! Even though he was totally pants in Newcastle at St. James' Park.
