Pudsey wants me to tell you he is blown away this morning and not because of the weather...

Chris Evans | 10:24 UK time, Friday, 20 November 2009

Last night's Drivetime auction was "your" most successful ever with over £530k being raised for Children In Need, simply incredible. Thank you to everyone who bid... It'll be around before you know it.

So, last day today for a week as next week we start work on the new breakfast show, two days of planning and then three pilot shows, Wed, Thurs, Fri. Can't wait, lots of new ideas - some'll work, some won't, either way it's time to find out.

I just felt a pang of excitement/nervousness as I typed that last line. Now that's a very good sign.

Happy Friday gang.

    HI CLP

Fantastic show last night - great effort by everyone.

Throughly enjoyed the concert too (especially as Bingo had written such an amazing and positive blog about it) and am really looking forward to watching the TV tonight.

Will be ringing with my pledge this afternoon and hope to get one of the lovely bloggers! You never know!

Wishing everyone well and thoughts go out to all who are currently suffering with the floods.

    Happy CIN Friday everyone

It was dead exciting wasn't it? Congrats to the man who has managed to make it to every Dine and Disco so far! Wowzer!

Anyway, if ARF is linked to CIN today, I'll pledge £20 if you start the show with Train in Vain by The Clash!

Well said Beany, the pictures on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ news site show just how devastating it is.

Well done for last night Christoph and good luck with the pilot shows.

Typical - new blog just as I typed on the old one - so repeated here.....

Thoughts are with those flooded out - not nice and safe journeys JG and Matt. Ali - I was wondering about Crumpy too. Let us know you are OK CC.

I heard that Ali - that Sir Tel had been up to see the togs on the phones - I'm sure CLP will be up (or down) there to see his bloggers. I think Deev has sent texts to the whole of her phone book this morning!

    Laters smiley peeps

    Hear hear Beany,

    Morning all,

Does anyone know what Deev's doing today?

    Haha!

As it turns out, I shall be joining them for lunch - can't wait to meet them all.

    I've had a great morning but won't bore you all.......for a change.

Have a great day, and well done again on reaching that massive total.

    Morning all

Well done, Christoph, on last night's auction, a fantastic achievement and congrats to all the lucky bidders. Will call later, and hopefully talk to one of our lovely blog peeps on the other end of the phone. Don't forget to go and say 'hello'.

My thoughts also go out to those of you who are unlucky enough to be in the floods, the pictures on the news look horrendous. Can't imagine what it must be like xx

Sorry busy neet noot bust!!!!! Soz!!!

  • Comment number 12.

I've been looking at the pictures of the flooding on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ website, don't put the TV on in the mornings, so had no idea how bad it was. My heart goes out to all those affected, some for the second time in 4 years!

CLP, well done on getting so much money donated. The running total earlier this morning on the radio was staggering! Please don't forget to say hello to Deev!

    Rips, enjoy your lunch mini-meet!

T'is sunny here Beez, so we're hoping for a good journey, our route looks clear for today, but it might be a bit more dodgy getting home on Sunday - I hear the Severn around Welshpool is on the brink of flooding, and they are expecting a lot of rain tomorrow...still we can always divert to another route.

    Crumps, hope you're OK?

Expecting Mr JG to turn up shortly, enjoy the CiN show tonight everyone, and I'll "see" you all Sunday night!

    Hi Chris,

Just have to join in with what everyone else is saying today - what a fantastic achievement with last night's auction. It was so exciting just to listen to it, must have been wonderful for you actually broadcasting it!

It has been a privilege listening to all the CIN activies on R2 this week - we have the best radio station in the entire world, I am sure of it.

Bingo: well, your description of last night's show as spot on. It was terrific, I loved it. And you are right about Annie Lennox - the woman is mesmerising.

I must say that my heart goes out to everyone affected by the flooding - it must be a nightmare. Not only to see everything you own completely destroyed, it must be so frightening too. Nature can be very cruel.

Really looking forward to hearing from any bloggers who manage to get one of the "Fab Four" on the phones today!

Rips: enjoy your lunch with the gang - wish I could be there too!

    C xx

Morning, afternoon everyone from a grey upstate new york. It's finally stopped raining. I think I should have gone to work yesterday in a boat and the return trip wasn't much better. TGIF.......anyway

I listen to the show in the morning here on my way into work, so for me Chris has been doing my morning show for some time. Either way, whatever the show is called, I know it will be great......

  • Comment number 15.

JG - that's what I saw on the news - nice and sunny today but tomorrow looks dreadful and with the Severn already rising fast 'spect it will be a bit of a hairy journey on Sunday. Mind how you go.

Chrissie I'm waiting until later to phone - you never know. They start at 2 and finish at 7 I think.

Are you there yet Rips????? Pics on your phone please??

This Friday has got a lovely feel about it, dont you think??

Looks like it could be a good turn out for the FNWC, will get there when I can.

    Have a fun day all.

  • Comment number 17.

Hi Beez: I will definitely be pledging this evening - I usually wait until the ´óÏó´«Ã½1 show is well under way. I do believe the the phones in Scotland will be answered by volunteers in Scotland, so my chances of getting any of our troops is nil - I hope you are lucky!

Last year, my daughter volunteered to answer CIN calls - she said the atmosphere was just terrific - though there were lulls. And then something would be shown on the telly that the audience reacted to, and the phones were going crazy!

MTF: yes, I agree, this Friday has a terrific feel about it. As always, I will be thinking of my lovely mum - she loved CIN.

And, I think I may pop in to FNWC for a wee while!

    C xx

  • Comment number 18.

Chrissie, I usually wait until the evening but I'll phone during Chris's show I think.

Heard from Crumpy - she's windblown but not soggy, flooding not too close thank goodness.

    Chris

I was one of the lucky ones who secured a table, but just missed out on the cars by a grand ( gutted - but you did warn us). Anyway, now it is just sinking in, I'm very pleased to have finally been able to help CiN in this way, having tried unsuccessfully for the last 2 years.

I don't know one end of a golf club from the other, and would have been much more at home behind the wheel of one of your fantastic automotive collection as that's my passion, but the Dine and Disco does sound fab overall. What a rush when I heard my bid was successful!

Great job yesterday and best wishes to all involved in front and behind the scenes for the big day today!

    Beach

  • Comment number 30.

Welcome and good on you Beach......... now if you need someone to accompany you, I haven't a clue about golf but I am sure there will be some Bloggers who can help!

Maybe next year for the cars then?

Good luck Chris on the pilots next week, we'll all be thinking of you I am sure.

I am full of something not nice and planning an early dart today so have a great weekend one and all.

007: just to say, sorry I didn't answer your post #24. My lovely daughter appeared at my office and allowed me to take her for lunch! I am ok - looking forward to the weekend - I have had such a busy week at work!

Beach: congratulations! Golf is not my strong point either, but I would be over the moon to attend the Dine & Disco - it's gonna be brill!

Beez: any news from our brave girls and boys re: their lunch? I keep looking at the clock and thinking, our bloggers are now inside R2 HQ!

Daisy: take care, hope you feel better soon. xx

  • Comment number 40.

    Hi All,

I couldn't have asked to meet four more pleasant, attractive, polite, entertaining, generally lovely people...........

.......and then Deev, Seza, Super and Gingembre turned up so I had to leave that table and sit with the bloggers.

Badum tish! I'm here all week......

Very nice lunch with four truly lovely people who are more than a little excited to be where they now are.....although if they breathalise Deev, she may not get in! ;^p

Left them all at the front door and like all of you, now await their stories later.

Seza and Deev took some photos, but to be honest we were all to busy talking to think much about that. Soz!
