The 22nd of December !!!

Chris Evans | 09:25 UK time, Tuesday, 22 December 2009

Every day is tinsel tingle exciting from here on in. . .

Our house is just rocking. Noah is doing all he can to speak - he can replicate almost any actual sound now, and is just a couple of vowels and a gurgle away from his first full-on word.

Tash is doing her Mrs. Christmas stuff now on a minute by minute basis, and I am
head-down to the finish line for the show. Once that clock strikes seven on Christmas Eve all hell will break loose, as we launch our first three person Yuletide family festivities. . .

Oh and there's the small matter of an O2 show to do tomorrow. . .

For one reason or another this December has fairly romped along, probably the fastest month I have experienced thus far in my tenure on planet earth. I'm thinking about a sprint finish - just to top it off.

Keep up gang.

    Well done Thunder!!

Me too - really looking forward to tomorrow Chris - can't wait!! Also enjoying the ARF week, last night kids show was great.

I can't believe where this month has gone either! Loved the show last night with the kids!!

Baggy - poor you, glad you got home eventually! had a message from my cousin last night who lives in Totteridge, they can't risk trying to get out. High Wycombe is just soooo hilly!

Well the bad news is, it's still snowing here this morning, and put down over an inch in the time it took me to feed the dog! As fast as I cleared the car, it was covered again!

Anyway, have made it to work, and have put Mr JG on strict instructions to ring me if Wigan gets any worse, and I'll be heading home!

    Hey Christophe!

Know what you mean about December romping away with us - was saying just that to Mr Deev this very morning.

And can I just say how very much I am looking forward to tomorrow. More than I can convey in words in fact.

My festivities begin at 5.30 pm today when I walk out of this Factory of Frivolity, to go home and pack my overnight bag and gladrags in readiness for an early start in the morning.

See you at the 02, Superstar DJ ... here we go!

CLP - hi - looking forward to seeing you tomorrow

JG - totteridge will be a nightmare as well - tell your cousin not to go out!

Now the telly won't start - I have a whole day to fill and the tellys not working and mr bp is in bed as hes still working nights and its too quiet! Although emo has started to play with a pink balloon which is midly entertaining.

I need to go to the local shops for milk - anyone want anything?

    Morning all

It is the 22nd and there are still too many things to do!!!

I left this morning, no snow just cold, with sparkys and decorators trying to finish off. Just need the cooker connecting to the gas and we're all systems go! Hurrah. Never thought I'd be able to say that 3 weeks ago.

Midwife is coming this morning to weigh baby George so hopefully everything will be going the right way.

    Morning Chris,

Very exciting times - the walking talking stages.
Mind you there always seems to be something going on that surpasses the last acheivment.
Ours are currently producing a puppet show which they are going to perform on boxing day when my huge family descend on us!
They were decorating their microphones (toilet roll tubes with scrunched up paper on one end) last night before bed.
    Should be quite a show!
All off of their own backs. Love it.

Can't wait to call it a day later and settle down for some time with them.

    Merry Christmas

    Hi Darce,

I did consider your very kind offer to attempt to have my book signed by the man himself. But, although grateful as I am, I did think, apart from Christoph having far more important things going on, I wouldn’t expect you to lug my book around with you when you should just be enjoying yourself. However, maybe, just maybe, we will have a two person meet in the New Year. You never know! All cloak and dagger of course!

Morning everyone, hope you're all surviving the cold and snow, we've still got non here, although we have had a run of beautiful sunny frosty days.

Andy, how old is baby George, my baby George is 2 and a bit and is definitely a boy with a capital B! BabySam is 8 weeks and is going to have to grow up to be a resilient little blighter if his brother has anything to do with it. Hope your Baby George is piling on the pounds, it's so worrying isn't it when they stay dinky, but then again it's the same if they pork up massively...you can never win!

Going to try the madhouse that is soft play this afternoon....God help me!

Hopeyou all have a wonderful time tomorrow...my guessis that the blog will be a 7quiet place!!

    Stay safe

    Morning all.

I'm beginning to think that December isn't actually as long as we are led to beleive - I checked my advent calendar this morning and it's only up to the 20th. There's no way I'd miss out on two chocolates, I can only summise that there's a slight tear in the time/space continum....

Quick question for those of you who are going to the O2 tomorrow - any of you got Twitter accounts? I was thinking of joining so that I could follow your progress from afar (or Dudley as it's more commonly known). I'll be in the office, so any distraction from that would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Baggy - glad you got home safe after your epic journey. I suspect you TV wouldn't work because Jeremy Kyle was on and it just refused to show it (electrical components have feelings too - my parents once had a video recorder which, if it didn't like the film you were watching, would just spit the tape out). Have you tried it since This Morning came on?

carl - thanks for your concern re the telly - I have been advised to pull out the plug and put it back in again and that should make it work

however if I pull out the wrong plug I reset the HD drive and everything we have both set up to record over christmas will be cleared - hence the fact I am waiting for mr bp

The idea of book and cats sounds a good one to me - I have one on the back of this sofa, one on the other sofa and emo is prowling around restlessly - I saw him trying to kill eeyore earlier

Sorry for being a bit AWOL, I have been lurking but work is really busy with things to do before I finish tomorrow lunchtime (Mmmmm wonder where I'm going in the afternoon!) I hope to get to the O2 about 1:30ish, depending on traffic as I will be driving. I shall be the one walking into the pub looking like a bunny caught in the headlights - I have to confess to being a little scared. I've got Deev's and Seza's mobile numbers should anything hold me up or I get lost in the O2. Really looking forward to meeting you all (and some of you for the second time).

Greetings Of The Season Ter CLP, Tash, Noah & Every Bloggie Gettin' Ready Ter Booooogie At The O2......

    Bingo Star ere.....

CLP - Firstly, were do a start az there's so many things a water say that could/ should be first!!!!!!!!
I'll start wit this one..... A waz listening ter yer brill show yesterdee.... and did a 'ear correect?????????
Did you say one of me all time fav bands iz gonna stand in for the unfortunate pull out of the unwell Ting Tings?????????

    Aka The STEREOPHONICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At first a thought yer were joking but seriously are they gonna be there??????
Very sad the Ting Tings can't make it az a know CLP played a fairly large part in 'elping their career take off by playing them alot on Drivetime!!!!!
Would ave loved ter seem them live but if yer can't sing due ter colds/ flu.... yer can't sing FULL STOP!!!!!
I'll see em another time for defo!!!!!!

Az for the Sterophonics.... Dakota iz one of me all time top 10 fav tunes & Just Loooking... And Maybe Terrrrmorrow.... And Traffic.... And I'm Alright... And just love the MEGA intro ter Superman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of those rare bands were a like every single song thay've done!!!!!
Not a single bad one on any album!!!!!

Their latest tune 'Innocent', when a first 'eard it, a though 'It's Alright' but then suddenly it 'it me.... it's a BIG grower & after seeing them perform it on Jools 'olland a few months back & taping it.... a realised this tune is gonna be a Phonics classic!!!!!!!!!!
Relatively simple chords but such a strong emotive song..... In fact a like it so much a loooked up the lyrics & chords ter try and learn on me guitar!!!!!!
The words a find very interesting, although very sad when yer look inter them, there's a strong meaning in there ter not let anything in life get you down and nothing does az yer innocent. Almost child like!!!!!
A think this struck abit of a chord with meself!!!!!
What with me writing songs & wanting ter get inter it deeper a decided ter annalise this tune deeper!!!!
A love they way at the end of the first verse it ends with 'Jenny Died' then at the end of the second verse it's changed ter 'Jenny tried!!!!' Very sad/ shocking lyrics, 'ope it's not of a true story, but a like the way it's changed like this... a slick rythmical powerful bitta lyrics ter end each verse!!!!! Very simple but very clever!!!!!!

Ave noot learned it yet but a wanter.... ere's a copy of the tune below >>>>>>

Then pluck the next one up, the lowest 'igh string - aka the 'G' string - still fretted on the 2nd fret. Then the ighest of the low strings - still open - aka noot fretted. Then back the other way again ter the lowest 'igh string - still fretted on the 2nd fret. Then the next 'igh string - still fretted on the 2nd. Then back ter the lowest 'igh string - 2nd fretted again. Then back ter the lower 'igh string but noot as low as the lowest - still 2nd fret retted. Then back ter the previous. Then back ter the 'ighest low string - open again. Then ter the slightly 'igher low string but lower than the lowest - played open again.... then yer start all over again!!!!!!!

Finally...... soz me 'eads done in know, sorry now!!!!!!

Pre-Christmas cut-down not going well - there is pizza in the office (or at least, there was...).

Twitter is sorted, so I'l be able to follow the goings-on at the O2 tomorrow. Not sure whether I'll be tweeting myself though, I'm easily distracted enough without adding something else to the list.

Although I am tempted to post pictures of myself in the office tomorrow afternoon, looking bored (and slightly envious....).

    Afternoon all,

haven't had a chance to catch up yet, but just wanted to say hope all the bloggers going to the party party party tomorrow get there safely, and have an awesome time! someone give CLP a hug from me.

Well, we managed to get home, BA have called off the strike, and snow permitting we will get back stateside too. Pretty good all in all! Thanks again to all those who sent good wishes before BA sorted themselves out.

Haven't been able to get on the blog since we've been back as the in-laws are slightly grumpy about computer usage...

    Happy partying tomorrow people!

Deevs and Bingo left handed - I think that rather emphasises my earlier point...I put the 'phone to my left ear when talking but I guess that doesn't really count...
Calendar guess - sticking with PenPen on this one - mistletoe. You CAN@T have Christmas without mistletoe.

Chris: If you get to read this, can I say to you that your Scottish Bloggers are determined to get to the 02, come what may! Thank you so much for the invitation - I promise to be on my best behaviour!

    Hiya everyone:

Just the most manic couple of days at work - no time to catch up on the blog, so I hope everyone is ok.

Mary and I are absolutely hyper about our journey tomorrow, though I have to say I am a tad worried about us getting home in time for Santa. Hey, what will be, will be!

Really looking forward to tomorrow - I will be wearing my Miss Brodie shoes - with a bit of luck I will manage not to slip onto my bahookie!

To everyone driving - take care, take it nice and easy ..... and see you soon!

To all the other bloggers not attending, I promise to raise a wee glass to you while Chris is doing his stuff!

    C xx

    Dear all

I'm finishing work today so just wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.

Christoph - I hope your Christmas is especially wonderful now that there are three of you in the household - thank you for sharing Noah with us, even when he was just a wee dot! Good luck for tomorrow's show, and I look forward to sharing my brekkie with you.

You've all been brilliant, as ever, but I must say a special 'hi' to Hazel, CtD, MfR, MwK, Mwa!, Lyndyloo, Highland Lass and Debbie, if she's there; thanks to everyone for making me larf during what has been a difficult year - you've made me smile on many an occasion, speshly on me birthday (special thanks to Cheryl!). I've not been able to post much but have always kept up with yer shennanigans - and haven't there been plenty?!!

To all of you who are going to the O2, I know you'll have a wonderful time and I'll be with you in spirit. Will be travelling back from Brighton (visiting poorly mum) so will be tuning in, and I hope to hear at least one of you shout "Jillygoat" or "Jollygit"!!

Take care and see you in 2010.

Stuck in snow created mayhem as the road to my office is closed (don't panic MC not the M40).
Don't mind too much - fully stocked up and have gadgets for the long periods of static.
    scenery is incredible too!
I do wish Chris started at 15:00 though.
Btw- he tweeted earlier that his audiobook is at No1 on eyetoons which is some acheivement.
Well done Chris - not surprised though.

Calendar guess - something covered in snow!
