Show Today, Basketball This Afternoon and Then Some.

Chris Evans | 09:33 UK time, Wednesday, 17 March 2010

Agent's birthday dinner tonight - in town, and he's still so small ! My agent, other than Frankie Dettori, Willie Carson and Ronnie Corbett is the smallest man in show business, he has bottles of wine that are bigger than he is. Not that this holds him back, not for a second, in fact it only serves to make him stand taller when he does what he does.
"No one knows how tall you are on the phone Christopher.," he often declares.

Being smaller also has several distinct advantages, one of which is making other things seem big !

Good for him.

Happy birthday Michael, we have one of the longest lasting relationships in this business and it looks like we're stuck with each other.

As they say Christophe, good things come in little packages!

Not so convenient when you can't reach the top shelf in the kitchen but hey ho.

    What other things seem big?

    Morning Chris and All,

Amazing how apt your last few blogs have been Mr Evans.
My gorgeous little girl is the youngest and also the shortest in her year (aswell as the smartest and prettiest obviously) and we had this whole discussion last night with her in tears, as some of the other kids keep mentioning it.
Anyway I shall tell her about your agent later as another example of how it doesn't matter anyway, so cheers for that.

Barney - no arguments regards out last match.

Barmey - indeed I did - very jealous! I did comment on it to regards how he actually shares them for charity. I'm saving up for It this year. We're talking about a picture all of his cars with their snouts sticking out their garages. Btw Gawjus!!

JG - I may go quiet on the rugby seeing as we are playing France this weekend......gulp!

    Have a good day

Mornin' Christoff yous big long streak a whatsiname.

Hurrah, am only a trial-size meself at 5 ft. tall, so can only say what me aul Granny, vertically-challenged like meself, usedta say;-

They don't make diamonds the size a bricks.

Right, off up the Cresta Run to Leeds. Laters, taters.

Oooo speakin' a Taters, I've a great recipe book given to me by the bezzy mate when I married a potato-farmer in 1975. 100 Ways With Potatoes.

Excellent book; unfortunately, however, said tome still didn't save me from becomin' Cr@p Farmers' Wife Of The Year, mind... I later wrote an appendix to it, 100 Ways To Throw A Potato/ Weapons of Mash Destruction.

    Whoops. Ere comes another...

    Morning all

Being a shorta*** myself, the worst thing is reaching the top shelf at the supermarket - I am often hanging around looking for a beanpole (or somebody who can climb) coz I can't get what I want. This is worse when it's the top shelf of a freezer cabinet and the last one of what I want is right at the back grrrrrrrrr.

Oh and btw I'm not overweight, I am just undertall ;-).

Welcome back Clodagh - I have missed your unique take on the world.

Got another bizzy bizzy day planned today, away to muck out the nags and put that steaming stuff on me compost pile. Lovely stuff for the roses.

Got 'nuther Gee Gee after the sad demise of my bestest 4 leggit friend passed away, this one is a whole new ball game. Bit of a challenge ahead of me, but lifes just one big challenge aint it?

Am a day ahead of myself thought this was thirsty Thursday, but just realised it's Want it but have to Wait for it Wednesday!

Now where's that bucket and fork and me wellies?

Happy Paddys day all. The time of the year when you cant move around here becuase of the "holiday makers" from the Emerald Isle.

This year we even have a massive sign on the Cotswolds overlooking the race course advertising a well known bookmaker in the style of the "Hollywood" sign in L.A. Not quite the same though is it.

Miss P, If all good things come in little packages, it doesnt say much for me does it? Vertically challenged I am not.

Hi Chris: what a really lovely blog today. Happy Birthday to Michael, who must be a wee bit pleased that he has you for a client. However, from what you are saying, it sounds like your friendship is 50-50 which is great.

I thought your story this morning about having Moira's recipes framed was so lovely.

Hope you and Jonny have a really good time attempting the basketball!

Hi to everyone else - hope all is well.

Happy Birthday to Mr Agent Christoph. Enjoy your dinner tonight.

    #5 - Debs - I cannot believe you said that !!

Chrissie, I loved the Moira framing thing too - sweet.

When I used to venture in to supermarkets I was often asked - can you reach that for me dear -
Funniest I saw was an oldish lady - very tiny, asking a guy could he help her reach the top of the freezer cabinet. What she wanted was on the top shelf. Certainly he said - what do you want? No dear says she - pick me up, I need to choose it!!! The guy was about the same height/size as Thunder. Picked her up like she was a little doll. Hilarious !

    Morning all

Thank you to all those who commented on my pics of the little man. Of course I think he's gorgeous but I'm biased!

I have just had to buy a kitchen stool for the OH as se can't reach the top of the cupboards in our new kitchen, as she is also only 5' 1. Definitely good things in small pacakages.

Bingo - I was looking at the house rules and where you are subject to pre-modding this last as long as the penalty period the Mods imposed. I would suggest you contact them again and ask when your penalty period is ending, after all there's nothing offensive in them as far as I'm concerned.

    Cheers

Beez - that made me laugh! I had to climb up the supermarket shelves once as no tall person was available. People must have thought I was mad. Unusual that....... Like Andy's OH, I have a little stool in the kitchen - handy for those odd jobs.

Andy - your little man is just so sweet!

Why oh why do compliance related matters seem to fall on my desk? Next job - NO compliance. I say "pah!" to the FSA. May they be visited by a plague of hopping F words.

Debs, I used to swamp chips in so much vinegar when I was little that my lips would turn blue!!

    Whatever happened to Tangobaz?

Uncle Carl, Don't be giving Sandra any of your germs now, will you?

All this talk about fish fingers has made me hungry! Where's me salopettes and ice pick. I am going in to the freezer and I may be some time!!

    Hi all

Just got home from work and feel I must pick up on this 'boring' thread. The people who said the blog was samey and boring have withdrawn (although I bet they are still lurking).

I (as I cannot speak for everybody) enjoy reading most people on here and I don't care if what you say is, in your opinion, mundane, it is an insight into you and what is important to you or just what you feel like saying. As I've said before there is nothing wrong with skipping over posts that you don't want to read. but I do object to people feeling marginalised because someone has put a general comment on here.

    Steps off of soap box.

PS - we have fish fingers at least once a week. ;-)

More boring and samey info on the way: Bought a new landline phone today, with an extra one for upstairs. Am so rubbish with technology - waiting for it to charge then I have to deal with putting numbers in the memory. May be gone for some time.

Hi folks, have made it back!

Please, you lurking folk, the blog isn't boring, but will be if everyone just lurks...vicious cycle and all that!!

Carl, I hope you are feeling better soon! Genuinely! Honest!

Can you believe it, Mr JG just getting his shift pattern through, and we are trying organise the C-word...does me bleeding head in it does! He's still on about it, I can see the issue straight away, but ....

Not to mention holidays and weddings booked up...

I must admit to still being absent, it won't last, and it's getting better, but have just done 7.25 til 4.50, plus the commute, so me head is still frazzled!!

Might be back after me Domi*o's tea, that I think I deserve!
