Happy Blogday To You

Chris Evans | 12:47 UK time, Thursday, 1 April 2010

So what a lovely show the team put on for me today, surprises non-stop. The Golden Oldie from my Mum nearly set me off. . .

44 years now on the planet and I still feel like I did when I went to the big school, no older. Sure - I look older - but I feel and think exactly the same as I have always done.

D'ya wanna know a secret ?

I was up all night with food poisoning and had it not been my birthday, I would have taken a rare day off - felt like death warmed up to be honest. I just now worry for my fellow travellers on the plane to Portugal this afternoon !

Happy Easter you lot.

    Afternoon all

I've copied this from the previous blog

Happy Birthday Chris!!! I'm sorry, but I missed the show this monring, so will listen again if I can.

I've not made it to work today, I've been fighting a losing battle with sleep all night, down to a combination of toothache, hayfever and a bad stomach. Weird though, as soon as I'd rung in, I fell fast asleep for 4 hours.

So, a sofa day for me, Mr JG gone to ELH in a huff as there's no food in, and here's hoping I'm feeling better for my trip tomorrow - fingers crossed.

Right will catch up on this yesterday's blog shortly

If you were up all night with a dodgy tum, we certainly never noticed! You had so much energy this morning - it was shame to turn you off (so to speak!) when I arrived at work just before 9.

Hope the lurgie clears up soon - good point about the Thames water MTF! - and that you and the family have a lovely relaxy, chocolatey weekend in Portugal.

And JG - hoep you feel better soon too. Let Mr JG look after you and rest up until you're back to your old self.

Deevs, who fancies a jam donut!

Well looking at the pics on fb, you would never guess what a poorly boy you are Chris.

    Happy Birthday CLP,
Hope you have a great weekend in Portugal.

Sleet and blustery wind here, Coldsville.

Chrissie, love the idea of a Vat of G&T , I found a dozen cream eggs in the cupboard this morning, which i havent bought. Think i will hide them from MrMC & see if he notices ;-0

Deevs, Temping has it good and bad points. I did it for a few weeks about 3 years ago. Some places were superb and some were like hell on earth. On the whole , the try before you buy seems to work well on both sides, but sometimes you just know you wouldnt want to be there for ever. Keep on going and I am sure you will hit the jackpot soon.
Will keep my fingers crossed for you .

Hope everyone has a nice Easter.

Nobody could have guessed how awful you felt Chris - what a blimmin trouper you are. Fabby show as per usual. I was so disappointed not to hear your Mum's bit but I was just on my way out of the shower and younger gorgeous boy started a lovely wee conversation with me on my departure from the bathroom. However, I felt cheated of enjoying a lump in my throat and a few tears for the joy of the moment - hopeless emo that I am. Anyhoo, hope you're feeling better soon.

I missed the April fool thing this morning - any hints as to what it was or should I listen again?

Hey Chrissie, I'd go for g & t by intravenous drip to avoid spillage on the new flaptop.

Really am busy and shouldn't be here so I'm offski.

Can you imagine if the Creme Egg Easter Eggs (the big ones in boxes) were full of the creme egg goo instead of hollow!?! Wowser, that would be so sickly and then some.

I've not yet had any Hot Cross Buns this year b ut intend to rectify that by going home via a Hot Cross Bun shop to get some in for breakfast tomorrow morning.

AND ....... drum roll please .... I've not had a single solitary Mini Egg this year either. Now that really is a world record - I usually horde them from Boxing Day when they appear in the shops!

Mr Cadbury's Parrot always makes me think of Russell Brand. Norty boy!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLP! I agree with everyone that the show was brilliant this morning, noone would have known you were proper poorly! Have a fabby weekend!

Not much to say apart from Hi!

But, apropos the creme egg in gin, on Something for the Weekend on Sunday the cocktail guy had put chocolate eggs into some kind of `adult pop` to take on the taste (think it was tequila?) and Louise Redknapp ate a whole one.. not sure if she made it to the end of the show!

And not jam donuts for me but am now contemplating a jaunt across the road to the Paddy McGuiness advertised place for a caramel donut with custard in the middle...Deevs, i`ll pick u a jammy one up whilst im there although i cant guarantee its delivery...

Great to see Clodagh is safe, DtM back and also MWK, Gingembre, Baggy and Dragon and a few others!

Really have lots to do..so am off..and did i mention i am working tomorrow AND saturday?! ..anyone want to employ me not in retail?!Nah, thought not!

MTF, mSc and GM. Thank you for asking about the girls. The one who is 39 weeks Sunday is seeing midwife every few days, her feet and legs are badly swollen now and blood pressure starting to go up, she is being well looked after. Other daughter who is 37 weeks on Saturday, saw a very unhelpful consultant yesterday. So seen someone else today, who was very nice and talked through things with her, she is not getting very good treatment.

MTF, loved your April Fool, very funny!

JG, hope you feel better soon and will still be able to get away.

Gaily, nice your going to visit your mum, hope she is feeling better now.

    Hello Everybody Peeps,

Elder boy out at an under 18s band night in town! He's getting a lift home with a friend but not 'til 11 - don't know if I can last the pace! Younger boy soundly asleep - lucky ducky.

I believe you've to have a lovely day tomorrow Annie. I'll be in Fife on Saturday for a week. Looking forward to it.

CSN, It is nice to go and see my old Mum but bless her she isn't as mobile as she used to be and she has vascular dementia so we end up having repeats of the same conversation. I try to answer the same question as many different ways as possible, just to give us a bit of a variation on the theme. Also, she had a fall on Sunday and has hurt her back. The pain seems to be getting her down so younger boy and I are on a cheering up mission this next week. I'm still in touch with a couple of pals at home so I'll catch up with them at some point and I'm seeing my niece, not sure about my sis, depends on how busy she is. It beats working that's for sure.

Blimey, it was busy out on them there roads.

After doing the short stretch of motorway from Tiverton to Taunton and counting 79 caravans, luckily all heading in the opposite direction, I decided to take the cross country option.

Which takes me to, todays nature watch update.

For once, intstead of driving for 7 hours without a break, I decided to treat myself to half an hour off, in a little corner of paradise just overlooking the Somerset Levels.

    Here lies a 'Heronry'

It is so close to the main road, yet you are in a totally different world. As soon as you step outside your car, the sound of birdsong is wonderful.

An 80 metre walk takes you to the heronry hide. At the moment, they are still nesting. The sight of these majestic birds flying in from all directions is amazing. There are 20 plus nests at the moment.

How they manage to land on their nests, which incidentally are very high up, must take precision navigational skills.

The noise they make is quite bizzare too. I have always thought of herons as being similar to the prehistoric terradactyl (SP?)

In the next week or two, all the babies will be born and then the show really begins.

As I came away from the hide, I was lucky enough to spot a small herd of roe deer. Tiny little things they are.

I then carried on my trip across the levels, which at the moment are covered in swans, lots of nest bulding going on there too.

They have to buld their nests out of reeds and make them pretty high above the water level, which can rise and fall very quickly when we are getting the amounts or rainfall that we are at the moment.

Anyway, home now and looking forward to catching up on the days posts.

I have gin AND creme eggs!

What do you reckon? Sink or float???

    Here goes.......

MTF, Thank you for the nature update. You are so lucky living and working in such a beautiful part of the world. Were the little deer like Bambi?

I'm fairly rural in Lincolnshire but the most I see on my drive to and from work are magpies, pheasants and roadkill.

Glad you're home safe and sound. Enjoy the gin and egg - what is the verdict? sink or float? My guess is sink.

Occasionally have a heron near bolt hole and amazes me how they land too.
Enjoy your egg and gin - bet you ditch the gin for the zider......???

I don't eat much chocolate either in fact Mr JG ate some Maltesers and chocolates I was given for my birthday (October) as they were going out of date!

Anyhow, I need to go to bed, and pack as well...

I'm not sure whether I will be around, as there is no mobile signal at my Sister's house, and although I'll take the lappie, I might not have much chance to get on it!

So, have a lovely Easter break, those that have a break, and I hope the weather is decent for us all!

    Night all

    JG xx
