I love a coffee but I absolutely hate when they put that frothy stuff on the top, I just spoon it right back off again, I know that's what most people love but I can't stand it.

Ahh the latest gadgets for the home, you can never get enough of then like the banana guard! they make you smile that there are still inverters out there inventing wonderful objects that make you smile :)

Now what you need is a template to shake the chocolate over to leave a pretty pattern on top of the froth. Or is that a step too far??

Thanks for the huggles, and "where are yous". Just having a few ickle probs at work at the mo, which lead to a sleepless night (reading Ben Elton at 1.30 am on the sofa is NOT a good thing, trust me!) (although it's a brill book!). Also hard to get on here during the day depending on who's in and who's out of the office, and evenings are just crammed at the mo (hence Nic's absinthe too).

I'm fine, and will survive. Sometimes I can be my own worst enemy and despite the promise to myself not to get too invlved with work, I do it every time. It's hard to keep focus that I am not an office manaher anymore, that I am earning way below what I am worth and have so much more to give. Luckily, it's just a job and I have a wonderful man who loves me, and my health, and a good collection of Duran Duran 12" vinyl to my name.

Accessories: love 'em with a passion as my shoe/handbag/junk jewellery collection will testify. Also adore kitchen gadgets and yearn for a coffee machine of my own one day, and yes, I too will strive for a chocolate shaker. I'd like one of those ones that looks like a dog - you know the one I mean. In red or black.

We also thought we saw our very own CLP driving through London @ 5.30pm on Saturday in a red Ferrari - CLP was it you ? we waved anyway !!!

NO! I have to disagree CLP. I hate accessories and gadgets, it all leads to more cleaning to be done in the kitchen.

Nothing better than wandering round the kitchen gadget departments in the big stores. Often google Lakeland and have a nose. Note to self, must get out more! Been banned from buying anything until I use some of the stuff at the back of the cupboard, which has never seen the light of day. It always creates too much cleaning!

MC, I also chuckled about the bum tanning (maybe I should rephrase that!) this morning. I was laughing at the team laughing, really funny! Somehow doubt it was CLP, as we saw him and his family at VetFest at 3.30pm in Godalming!

I keep trying to save up for a Le Creuset casserole dish thingy but I then have a doubt about whether it would get used and the money goes towards clothes or something.

Surely the sandwich, packet of crisps and jaffa cakes are more 'sqaushable' than a banana in its thick long bendy skin? (ooooooh matron!!!)

MM - True, but then you can still eat squashy sarnies and jaffa cakes, whereas a bruised banana is not a good thing!?

I think its also to stop the chemicals which the skin emits, which send all your other fruit off.

its the bane of my life as you can only buy the coffee capsules from them and they are not cheap

And the 'cadbury' purple ones always go really quickly!

It's suddenly gone really dark here and there is thunder rumbling! It's OK though I am being a very brave bunny!

Thanks Debs for the virtual hand holding xx the thunder has passed and the rain has just down poured in a Noah stylee and it's still coming down; as long as it's stopped by the time I have to walk home I don't mind. However, there is that lovely rain smell though, wafting through the open window and a nice cool breeze which is very welcome.

Bestest Friends are just the Bestest Debs, and it sounds as if you have a good 'un there.

I hope I'm being one at the moment, by feeding my BFITWWW's cats for two whole weeks, twice a day!!! It's not as if she lives next door either, no it's 2.5 miles away. I only know that because there are three different routes I can take so I've timed it to see which one is the least distance and the least amount of time! Sad I know. I'm a bit worried about Floss (and yes the other one is called Candy) as she has a poorly eye, looks like it's been scratched. I'll check on it tonight and then I might have to ring my friends sister for a second opinion!

Am thinking of you Seza, we are now up to our eyes in packing crates at work...Oh joy! I'm seriously glad I'm only in for 2 days next week!

Had a really embarrassing experience at ELH on the way home...innocently got back into my car and starting reversing out of the space, only to run over something...

That something was a small bottle of cola, which promptly exploded all over about 6 cars and a poor woman who was stacking her shopping in her boot!! Oops!!

I've never seen so much liquid come out of such a small bottle!

I felt awful :(

To make you smile, he did it when he found out the groovy blue Beetle he was given as a courtesy car doesn't have an automatic handbrake and he had to chase it down the road!

That sounds like a lot of faffing about and accessorising just for a cup of coffee.

More to the point, however, the content of today's blog seems to confirm my view that you are merely going through the motions.

This was also the case when you were at the same stage with your last book.

It may be that you have expended all your creative juices on the book and have nothing left for the blog or that you are spreading yourself too thinly on account of all your other commitments.

Whatever the reason I have found your recent blogging to be lacklustre.

By all accounts there are currently moves afoot to reduce the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s online content, so as they say "Use it, or lose it".

Barney, I quite agree about the faffing around.

I like to put the kettle on, let the dog out and have a fag, then feed said dog, make a cup of black coffee, and leave it to cool, whilst I have a shower, dry my hair and get dressed! And call the dog in whilst having another fag!

All done in less than 30 mins!

I'm quite proud of that!

And now I'm off to bed so I can do it all again tomorrow!

Two points

1) he still has more listerners than Wogan
2) the two quarters are not like for like, as more people are on holiday during the summer months and therefore you would expect the number of early morning listerners to decrease.

What we need is a like for like comparison with Wogans programme for the same three months of last year.

Nice and sunny in Kent, so I walked to work today!

Did you hear me get a mention this morning, it was me having the fried courgettes on toast; I highly recommend it. Been doing it for years, you fry the sliced courgette in butter, toast two slices of bread, butter them; then put the fried courgettes on one slice, with a squeeze of brown sauce then on the other slice just put brown sauce on it and eat. Yum Yum.

It right made my day. Oh well best get on the gas man is here checking the church boilers.

I very rarely remember me dreams as I sleep in such a blissful state.... A think it might be partly to do with the 3 'ours of meditating, an 'our of eating as much lettuce as a can stand (sleep inducing chemicals in lettuce) & the VERY powerful sleeping tablets ave been given by me doctor ter 'elp take me mind at night of all me failed relationships/ career moves!!!!!!!

Any way... this morning a woke up & remembered VERY clearly a VERY strange dream I had involving Des O'Connor!!!!!!!!

Have been AWOL for some considerable time now due to working in a busy open plan office but have now got meself a new, permanent job and have my own pad - woo hoo! So, work permitting, I can now blog again - hurrah.

I've been lurking whenever possible and there is always so much going on with t'blog - some good, some bad - but it never fails to either cheer or move me.

It's the summer hols here on campus so it's student-free and blissful - until September anyway!

Hi Ali - yes, I'm in East Kent, and very luckily we overlook the sea. It's a wonderful view!! Mind you, the funfair has only just left the green opposite us - very noisy with the booming music and kids' screams, but good fun watching the world and its wife every night!!

Jilly - Think I went to that fair last week with my little one. Overlooking the pebbles and off to the continent with a great deal of fun to be had?
If ti was then hope we didnt make too much noise, although I do tend to giggle like a girl on the dodgems !!!!!

Can't belive the prices of fun fairs these days. They used to be cheap family entertainment, now its more like Disney.... (wihout the mouse)

Hazel - it's slightly less money than I was on previously but this is a permanent, full-time post so for peace of mind alone it was worth a relatively small drop in salary.

They're a lovely bunch of people and they've been very welcoming. So, fingers crawst it all works out OK.

Mikey - oh so it it was yourself screeching like a banshee was it?!!! The dodgems are right opposite our place, so I'll look out for you next year!

I know what you mean about the cost - it was £2 per ride so with a couple of ankle-biters, that's a lot of money spent even before you start to think about fish 'n chips and candy floss.

Not sure if you knew but they usually reduce all the rides to £1 on the last Saturday, except for the dodgems which are £1.50 - so that might help next time.

Now all we can see is the poor grass with yellow squares and circles imprinted on it where the rides were. Mind you, did you see the caravans the funfair workers live in - blimmin' huge and luxurious they are.

Jilly - now that I didn't know, would have been more of a bargain and so true as funnily enough had fish n chips from the Strand and then sat by the Band Stand overlooking the scenery whilst the ickle one crawled off towards the fascination that is pebbles !!!!!
