Am I nervous? I would be lying if I said I wasn't.

See you on the telly and then back on the radio - Monday.

Good luck Chris - although I'm sure you don't really need it. Looking forward to see which shirt you choose, but can't join you until 7:15 - have a prearranged rendevous with a well known radio show.....

  • Comment number 2.

Hi Chris Good luck for tonight, have you decided on a shirt? Just about to listen to the show on iplayer from a very sunny upstate New York.

Hi to everyone haven't had time to catch up yet but have a great day all.

    Hello again,

Forgot to say last time that I had watched the sporting challenge video and it is absolutely hilarious!

Debs - Just watching at the horse trails, this is a biggy, professionals only!, and yes I have been to wickerman's store and stocked up on the vino, 2 pink, 1 white and 3 red, that should keep me going for a night or two.

Again, have a good weekend everyone!

CLP - have a great show tonight. Very much looking forward to it. I do like Jason as well as he is very good but be nice to see your mug back on the widescreen.

Shame there is no Concorde trips, no bar in the studio or even a window to chuck things into the river but them days is gone. It's all very sensible and grown up this ´óÏó´«Ã½ lark isn't it?

Hellooooo to everyone else and have a great weekend. I'm off to the sunny golf course to whack a few balls about with me trusty sticks.

P.S. Whatever happened to the TFI autographed desks?

    Hello CLP.

I can't imagine you being nervous but I suppose everyone gets pre studio nerves.

Let me give you some advice. The one time I appeared on the telly (won't go into details) I had a few double brandies, this calmed me down very nicely. But I received a lot of laughter from people afterwards!

Break a leg! (is that right for TV?)

me again: just having a look at the previous blog:

MC: yes, we MUST get out more! Loved your comment to Debs that someone is using your oven when you are out! This is happening to me too: what gives?

I wondered if my Osmonds t-shirt may be smart attire for this evening? You can never go wrong with an Osmonds t-shirt!

Debs: hope things are improving for you - what a slow process, pet lamb.

Marjie: good to see you are on really good form. When Noel Edmonds was doing that "seeing you in your living room" thingy, I was sure my husband would have nominated me for that, given that I was such a fan of Noel, and went on about him all the time. On reflection, I am so glad that never happened!

    Greetings CLP, Alex & ALL…

    Bingo Star ‘ere… Back Again…

A just wanted ter try & guess what vehicle yer in there in the photer above!!!!!!

Now ter me the rear window looks very like yer Rolls Royce Phantom Menace…. The way it’s rectangular & the exact shape of it!!!!!!
BUT….. On the roller… although the same shape & the window looks VERY like one of the latest model Phantom’s window…. The Phantom rear window is tighter… not in price… DEFINITELY not in price… a mean in size!!!!!
It narrows more & the roof slopes down more over the rear seated passengers ‘eads!!!!!!
‘ence am now thinking different to what a was thinking a minute ago!!!!!

What a think it is looking at those stone leather ‘eadrests, stone in colour not structure, they are VERY Mercedes!!!!!!
VERY Mercedes…. And am not talking about a baby girl named Mercedes after an e-class ter give ‘er some class… born into a council estate living family in 2008 that are BIG fans of Big Brother & ‘ave Katie Price as their number one role model!!!!!
No, am talking Mercedes as in Mercedes people carrier…. Basically a van with the sides knocked out & windows banged in, then carpeted with most luxurious leather clad seats bolted ter the floor!!!!!!

The only thing that’s bothering me now is the colour?????
I’d say it’s either black or silver!!!!!!!!
Looking DEEP inter the mind…. Am gonna go with silver!!!!! No black!!!!!!!
No silver….. Black…… with a silver Mercedes badge on the bonnet!!!!!!

No silver with black tyres & blacked out windows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Am a correct CLP & Alex?????? ;)))

    Bye!

    Afternoon bloggers!

Wooohoooo it's Friday! Hurrah - this week seems to have lasted forever!

In a good mood today - asked my boss if I could slightly change my working hours to help with my daily commute and he said yes then laughed and told me he'd been expecting me to ask him!! Knowing that now why did I get myself worked up before asking him - d'oh!

Have fab weekends everyone, wherever you and whatever you do :)

    AS x

  • Comment number 16.

    Just had a catch up.

Chrissie - YES! Osmond's t-shirt is a must for watching tonight. I have the photo still.

Dozey - have a fab time in Aviemore and Blair Atholl. Haven't been north at all this year and I'm feeling the need to walk round Loch an Eilian in peace and quiet - September I think.

Debs - is the sun over the yardarm yet?

    xxxx

  • Comment number 17.

Chrissie-you can never go wrong with an Osmond tee shirt especially if it has a picture of Donny on it.

I agree, although I knew it would never happen I always felt a little uneasy when Noel introduced the living room thing (NTV Ithink it was called) on his House Party.

    Hello to everyone else!

Yes Chrissie, definitely wear it on every occasion possible. No picture but what a great souvenir.

  • Comment number 20.

    Alright To ALL…

    Me back again…

CLP & Alex - Actually thinking about it… am not 100% sure if it is a Mercedes people carrier… as the roof does look slightly low!!!!!
Those ‘eadrests do also look VERY Saab!!!!!!
So maybe yer in a Saab estate!!!!!!
But then ‘aving said that the person who taking the photo ‘as a lot of room to get a nice shot of Alex… so actually maybe it is you CLP sitting opposite ‘er in a Mercedes people carrier!!!!!

Ok if a can’t 100% get the vehicle correct…. Can a guess the road from the rear window!!!!!

I’d say first choice… looking at the flyover & the density of the concrete… and those crash barriers…. Yer on the Westway A40 Flyover in the west bit of central London… just coming off on the slip road near to Edgeware/ Paddington areas just up the road from Marylebone!!!!!!!!

2 nd choice is yer near Chiswick just coming off the A4 flyover that leads onto the M4... In the west of London!!!!!!

But looking DEEP inter the mind… a think me first guess is more right!!!!

Am a correct CLP & Alex??????

    This is so much fun!!!!!!

Can anyone tell am on the train ter London & board!!!!!!

PS This is what me poor mother ‘ad ter put up with when a was a child… and ave still not fully grown up now!!!!!

    Bye!

  • Comment number 22.

Afternoon peeps, from a pooped Crumpy!
Very long tough week with deadlines to meet and am feeling particularly knackered today.

Not had a chance to read the blog let alone post. Am out tonight for a meal with friends so am sky+'ing the One Show. Bet it will be the topic of conv later at FNWC.

So tired I am popping upstairs to have a little lie down and maybe a nap before shower and out, later. I am designated driver for some of us tonight so no alcoholic drinks for me - probably just as well, as one glass of wine and I bet I'd be asleep in my dinner!

    May catch you later.

AS: good news about your boss. Isn't it amazing that sometimes we fret about asking our boss something and then they turn round and are understanding!

Annie and Marjie: thanks for the thumbs-up on the t-shirt. I shall be wearing it with pride as of 6.50pm! Annie: I can't believe you have that picture on FB! Although, as you know, I really do like it, and I just hate photos of me usually!

Bingo: just loving the idea of you with a picture book and crayons!

Crumpy: hope you enjoy your evening. No doubt you will be on top form once you have had a shower and feel a lot brighter!

Well, for myself, I feel as though I am attending a really important function tonight - I am so excited for Chris, and I just know he is going to transform Friday evenings for so many people! Will be thinking of all the bloggers while I am watching - I may even have a sweet sherry, just to toast the occasion!

    Have a great weekend everyone.

The holiday was also fantastic - I saw places I'd never been to before, and Gloucestershire/Herefordshire is a beautiful part of the country.

We rounded the week off this morning on a trip to the Cider Museum in Hereford and I took the liberty of stocking up on some supplies for the autumnal nights ahead!

Now to sort out tea (Chinese?) and prepare for a weekend at V Festival.

Off to catch up on this week's blogs before Sky+ing our CLP on the ONE Show!

Seza, Mr JG wants a break from everything, including me, so is heading to NYC on his own!!

I wouldn't stay in a hotel that has 50 floors, or go up the Empire State Building etc, so he's best going on his own...I just hope he stays away from the dodgy parts and doesn't get shot at!

I'll probably have to book hols to look after Finlay, but that's OK, if I need to...

OK, Yes, I'm putting a brave face on it, but, if I'm honest, I would be a hindrance, that he's not prepared to cope with at the moment...

Really disappointed in tonight's One Show. It came across to me as the Chris Evans Show with the Welsh girl Alex as his side kick instead of Johnnie Saunders. She hardly got a word in as Chris dominated the whole of the show. If it's supposed to be a double act then Chris needs to learn how to work with a partner rather than being the totally dominant force. Sorry, but that's the way I saw it tonight. Sad but true.

  • Comment number 73.

Dave, know what you mean. Chris seemed a bit uncomfortable. Hopefully it will get better.

Seza, heard from my ex-colleague. Old person - fleas - cat - social worker - etc....... Sound familiar?

  • Comment number 74.

Fair enough if that's how you saw it, Dave, but for the record I disagree. I thought Chris injected his usual energy and fun into the show and Alex held her own magnificently; in no way was she overshadowed. I can find nothing negative to say; good luck to them.

I enjoyed your debut on the One Show Mr Evans. A tad nervous, I thought, but so pleased to see you on the telly box again... well done you! Have just had a txt from my friend who's at V festival in Chelmsford, she goes every year, has an access all areas pass and has never seen a band!

Just finished watching The One Show as I recorded it.

I thought Chris was excellent for his debut, maybe slightly nervous, but who wouldn't be. So pleased he took our expert advice and wore the starry shirt.

My only complaint is the fish and chips. Now I've got to have some as soon as possible.

I have to agree with #72... less than a minute into the show Chris was his usual 'me me me and my mates' ignoring Alex and Karen, who probably wondered what she was doing there, and thank goodness Karen was there, because she and Matt saved the show!

Sorry, but I was hoping for something better than what we saw tonight and thank goodness it was only 30 mins rather than the one hour that a lot of people thought it was to be on Fridays!! :o(

Sylvia - didn't see the 'me, me, me', I just thought Chris was a bit nervous. Am sure he'll get better. Those who criticise should try it themselves - wonder how they would cope?

I agree Annie, how many critics could do it themselves?

Chris is a natural for television and radio. And one needs to be a bit egotistical in order to come across well. Just like Wossy, Wogan, Chiles and many others.

Maddy - I once stood in front of a tv camera (Aneka Rice's programme) and made a complete a**e of myself. It's not nearly as easy as it looks. I'm sure I ended up on the cutting room floor after they had a laugh!

Me too Annie, I was once interviewed and needed a few double brandies beforehand. I received much laughter from people the next day!
