So it's Strictly Alex Jones...

Chris Evans | 12:16 UK time, Wednesday, 7 September 2011

...and what about the rest of the line up for this year's glitterball extravaganza?

The best yet. No doubt about it. What's Nancy Dell'Olio really like, how much will she sweat and will Britan take to her? We are about to find out.

Plus, will Kylie turn up to support Jason, and will Queen come and a play a tune for Anita (Mrs Brian May) Dobson? Really looking forward also to Lulu and Robbie Savage and Russell Grant.

This is a must-see series, and it all starts on Saturday ´óÏó´«Ã½1 at 1810.

Looking forward to working with an even more toned and tanned Alex J up until Christmas. Can I vote for her now???

Peace and Love and and an added bit of paso doble...

    Hello Chris.

I was just saying on the previous blog 'I wonder how Alex will do in SCD?'

How about you yourself having a go next year Chris?

Hi Chris: I would love to see you on Strictly! Really looking forward to this series - I think Alex will do very well, she's so fit ... you know what I mean! But Jason has my vote, even though we have yet to see a single step taken!

Maddy: aww, thanks for the song. xx Hope you start to feel a bit more "normal" soon - sleep deprivation is horrible. Re: "the list" sometimes I make a few wee notes and sometimes I scroll up and down, but today I just happened to remember what I wanted to say! And I must confess, I have said rather a lot today!

Off to get a sandwich for lunch - sooo hungry!

Chrissie - glad the move went well ! I had to laugh at the tambourine story ..... 'im indoors would have been wearing it as a collar if that had been me!

When we moved at Easter, I found no less than seven extension leads and four metal tape measures, of all things! When I asked 'im indoors why he had such a vast collection of such items, even he didn't realise we had that many of the blasted things. There was even a tape measure at the back of the cutlery drawer ! So, if you can't find yours, do let me know!!!!!!

Crazy at work now getting ready for the new intake of students so must fly - not sure why this takes me by surprise each year but it does! Hey ho.

CLP - not sure about the line up myself so will have to see who takes my fancy on Saturday - still patiently waiting for my tickets, so if Alex gives you some as a "supporter" and you cant make it - chuck em my way please!

Jilly - LOL moment about the tamborine - and having met Chrissie I'm now surprised she didnt do that out of frustration! And then she would have gone into another room and giggled her head off!

Thanks for the mojo Sezza and Chrissie - along with a full fat brown drink and some food I've perked up somewhat ;-)

MM sorry you are not sleeping too well, I'm seriously grumpy when I'm sleep deprived.

    Hi Chris,

I've just been checking out the Strictly website and that tennis/reporter bloke is a bit of alright ;) I hope Alex does well, she's a lovely lass.

Debs, Re summer clothes - there are a number of reasons, firstly I've got to dig the winter clothes out of storage (in the wardrobe). Secondly, when I worked in publishing I used to go to the Frankfurt Bookfair every year and we had to be suited and booted, so I used that as the first time I wore tights after the summer (early October) and I still try and do that now, even though I don't go to Frankfurt. There'll be no tights before the 1st October and no heating either. Also I can't afford any winter clothes yet!!

MM, Hope you sort the sleeping issue out soon, it's not nice not getting enough hours. I'm like you I need my sleep, at least 8 hours a night! xx

    Hello CLP and everyone!

Unsure about it being the best line up, some I haven’t even heard of. Must get out more! However, I’m really looking forward to SCD, but what I don’t get is how there can be odds on whose going to win when it hasn’t even started yet! As for Nancy whatsherface, no thank you!!

Chrissie, how lovely to see you back and pleased you survived the move. I missed your posts. The dreaded pub indeed!!

Maddy, I sleep 8 hours a night, and I need it. Hope you get sorted soon x

    Debs, glad you’re feeling perkier!

AliB, no heating on in our house either, till October – even if it snows!

After the lashing down of yesterday, it’s much brighter and drier here today.

    Now will this post??

    Pen x

ps thought I’d just mention, grandson aged 10 (almost 11) nominated a prefect at school yesterday, he has to empty the recycle bins and ring the bell every day. Way to go!

    Afternoon all.

Chris, I am sure Alex will do very well in Strictly.

Pen and Ali, I have had my heating on for a few hours in the mornings and evenings the last few days.

Debs, glad you have perked up a bit.

Marjie, hope you get a good nights sleep soon.

Chrissie, i have missed you being here and I'm so pleased to hear that your move went well.

Mr CSN has been up on the roof all morning and it freaks me out watching him because I hate heights.

I feel really tired this afternoon so just had a packet of magic stars. Yummy!

csn, hope it’s not too windy up on the roof. Is he down yet??

I buy the multi packs of magic stars for the little people. Trouble is when I need a fix I can't resist! He-he!

Jillygoat: it's not too much in life that makes me speechless, but that tambourine almost did! I know he loves music, but really! Good luck with the new intake - it seems like five minutes since we were discussing the intake last summer!

Debs: yes, you are getting to know me quite well! Even though I pretended to be horrified, it was very funny!

AliB: you have no idea what I would give for 8 hours sleep a night. No matter how exhausted I am, it's four hours at a stretch - maximum.

Pen: oooh, the pub. So close, but so far. I haven't been near it yet, but MrS has been there twice, "just for a pint" you understand! This is great for your grandson - a wee bit of responsibility and he will feel he really is "doing something" to assist with the school.

CSN: thank you. xx Like you, our heating has been on a little - I know it's expensive and I really grudge it, but I just cannot bear to be cold.

Will definitely be watching on Saturday. Staying with friends for the weekend - and they WILL watch it!!

Good idea about next year Maddy - we'd all vote for Chris.

    Ok, have caught up

Rips & Andy - hope first day of school went well. Our lot went back a couple of weeks ago so are settled in, although the 11yr old, in his first year of High School, is being called a computer geek by the less able in his class. Doesn't seem to be bothering him thank goodness.

Chrissie - glad the move went well, loved the tambourine story - and you can now get up fifteen minutes later!

Debs, I too have had a CBA day. Got a folder out of my briefcase, looked at it, had a coffee, looked at it again then put it back - it'll keep till Monday.

Maddy, know how you feel about not sleeping - I sleep for about 2 hours at a time but I have my trusty Kindle (did you know.......?) which has a little light on it, waiting for me whenever I wake up.

Got blown across the rickety bridge this morning - didn't envy the people in the bus in front of me - it kept being blown sideways!

    Back later. xxxxx

  • Comment number 13.

Annie, a Kindle? When did you get that? ;-)

Pen, we made cup cakes the other day and put magic stars on top of the icing! They were very yummy!!

Ali, I resisting the heating but I have had to resort to socks!

Chrissie, I'm not very good at remembering!

Hope everyone else is fine and dandy!

    Hello Annie.

Thank you, maybe I talk more sense after no sleep. Chris would be good on Strictly.

I didn't know you had a kindle! I could do with something like that for tonight. I've realised that maybe the steroids have given me such a boost that I don't need much sleep and so I've decided to stay up tonight. The thing is 'what to do?'. I could go out for a ride on my scooter but the weather's not suitable and also it might look strange (like a get-a-way vehicle).

I don;t have a kindle but I think I'm going to read the books I never bother with.

I'm now putting the heat on sometimes. Tonight I'm going to put the timer on for water & heating in the morning (not just water)

    Hello.

Pen and Sezza, I buy multi packs of magic stars, the little ones love them and so do I.

Annie, are you reading your Kindle.

Marjie, I have just turned my heating on for a couple of hours and will let it come on in the morning, it is very chilly here this evening. LOL!

    Evening CSN

Not reading my Kindle at the moment. Seething at the News - I hate the way politicians use emotive words to divide society - hard-working rich people, as opposed to unemployed people, people on benefits etc.......

    Off my soapbox now. xxxxx

    Good Evening!
Thought I would pop in to see who was around. It's a bit quiet here isn't it?

Had a proper day off today, so after hospital appt this morning and getting the car washed I took myself off to our local Otter and Owl sanctuary. I love it there and arrived at feeding time. Unfortunately the deer that roam the park were fed last and one followed me round thinking I had food.
I didn't realize until it was too late that he'd taken a fancy to my cardi and had about 8" of it stuffed in it's mouth!!! By the time I had retrieved it, it was a smelly grass stained holey mess. He wouldn't give up though and tried the other side, the belt on my trousers, a blokes trouser hems and another chaps camera bag strap!!
Despite the ruined clothing, it was pretty amusing and the otters always cheer me up.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying life, back to work for me tomorrow,

    Morning all!

Lin, hope the cardi survived! Sounds like a fun place to be, and nice to do something "proper" on your day off. Like Bids, hope horpital appt went your way.

Annie has a kindle, who knew.....

Sitting here waiting for my car to be collected for its MOT - gotta love having a company car again. I know I get stitched up more tax wise but for me its sooooo worth it :-)

KK - glad you got back safe and sound, next stop CiN! And that brings me on to my CiN buddies Ali and Sezza! Hello! But this year I have promised to look after Chrissie - who of course "got me" when she called in last year - remember the squeels! oooo I'm getting 'cited now!

Bids, re market, it is a large one, I've never been but I expect its a good one, the one in Bath is good too. let me know if you fancy a spot of company if you come up this way.

Right this wont get work done will it,
    Happy thursty thursday everyone

Morning Lovely People of the Blog,

    How are we this morning?

Lovely to see kks and Lin xx

Debs, I look forward to seeing you too this year, I am really excited for CiN. At least this year I won't have to give Mary a double hug to pass onto Chrissie, because I shall be able to give Chrissie her hug in person....hooray.

It's official I hate foxes! The cleaner put the rubbish bags (from the church) out yesterday for collection this morning and of course the foxes had had a field day over night. So my first job today was to pick up all the rubbish, amongst their poo's - YUCK!

Having a proper cup of coffe to recover.

    Cold wet and windy here.

Ali, Foxes are a nightmare, we get them in the garden and at night time they make the most awful howling noises and their poo stinks. xx

I have the weekend food shop to do this morning, so I better get a move on.

Hope you all have a good day.

    Morning each!

Everyone well? Am not a huge SCD fan.. (say it quietly but i really can`t take to Bruce).. but think Alex seems lovely so wish her all the best. Would DEFINITELY watch if you were on tho CLP!

Lin and KandK..lovely to see you both... K, sounds and looks like a fabulous holiday!

As for Ali`s foxes... vermin I`m afraid. Might look all cute and fluffy but when you`ve seen your chickens destroyed overnight by them for fun then your opinion changes. And as for the poo.... urgh!

With regards to dogs.. went to have the grey sparkles covered up yesterday and my hairdresser has a maltese terrier pup. Now I am not a dog person usually but this is the cutest, softest, silkiest, most friendly pup i have ever met. She is definitely going to be boss of the salon when she`s bigger...she has everyone running around after her already!

Also went to the flicks with Flower and Pip to see One Day. Loved the book, film was ok. Slow to start but got better. And i disagree with the majority of the critics...Anne Hathaway was good as Emma although it was a definitely dodgy Yorkshire accent in parts!

Right..brew time to go with the digestives Debs is throwing around...milk and sugar?
