Hey Everyone!

Chris Evans | 11:34 UK time, Monday, 31 October 2011

Hey everyone it's bleak out there today. And it was too at the weekend. But here's the thing, none of us seem to mind. It's just the way it is at the moment. And in our house, nothing a leg of lamb last night along with a fw roasties and peas and gravy couldn't sort out, you know you've eaten well when there's Cookie Dough ice cream in the fridge that remains untouched and unsullied. Obviously, there's still tonight !

Have a great Monday.

I'm outta here.

Off to make a bacon butty and then look for my broomstick!

Annie - nice to see you back, glad you are feeling better.

    Hello to everyone else.

Morning all, long time no blog from me!

Lamb has to be my favourite roast dinner ever, booking that one in for next Sunday now...yum.

Trying to catch up and keep in touch with people as been out of the loop for soooo long. Bit difficult to get online these days, hope you are all well.

    Hi Debbie,

Welcome back, hope all's well with you and things are still going well at the bread company.

My SJS top tenuous link is that we stayed in the Jimmy Savill Suite in the Ben Nevis Hotel, Fort William, twice!

    Hello CLP and everyone

Have to agree, roast lamb is my favourite, and it's on the menu tonight - 100% true! The plan was to have it yesterday but we went out instead. I also adore ice cream.

Bids, lovely post, glad the York meet went well. 80p for a pee, good grief!

Annie, glad you're on the mend, I definitely missed you x

    Nice to 'see' you Debbie.

Hi DM and PF. All is well at the bread company, been very busy new role, new challenges etc. Lots going on here in the world of baking.

Spending an afternoon with Little Man carving pumpkins later. Yuk, hate them, the feel of the mushy bits and the smell when you light the candle. Yuk.

A vampire bat came in from the night, face all covered in

fresh blood and parked himself on the roof of the cave to get

some sleep. Pretty soon all the other bats smelled the blood & began

    hassling him

about where he got it. He told them to get lost & let him get

some sleep, but they persisted until he finally gave in.. "OK, follow me", he said & flew out

of the cave with hundreds of excited bats behind him. Down through a valley they went,

across a river & into a huge forest.. Finally he slowed down & all

the other bats excitedly milled around him, tongues hanging out for blood.

"Do you see that large oak tree over there?" he asked. "YES, YES, YES!!!" the bats all screamed in a frenzy.

"Good for you!" said the bat, "Because I flaming didn't

    Afternoon each

We also have a lovely roast chicken dinner yesterday..and haave just had leftovers in a sandwich for lunch! But lamb...mmmmm....drool on the keyboard is NOT a good look! The GM doesnt eat red meat so I only have it if we are out and about but you cant beat a good leg so to speak!

Not a massive icecream fan though I have to be honest..although a dairy farm near us does lovely homemade tutti frutti so I am sometimes tempted there!

Had a lovely time in York on Saturday..thanks so much to everyone who made it, and we missed absent friends! Only downside was the chef was poorly so they couldnt do us lunch so we had to all go in different directions and the recongregate afterwards. Meant we lost some time with peeps but was still nice to see everyone. The hotel got a chef in to make our evening meal for us which we had prebooked so we were the only ones eating there on Saturday night...and really nice it was too!

The light show that Bids mentioned was also fantastic...g**gle it if you get a minute!

PiP is indeed looking swell and I will endeavour to keep you up to date with the little one`s imminent arrival...although PiP needs hair, nails and pampering done first so he`s not allowed to arrive til next Mon!

    Now to CiN..cant wait!

Ali, have a lovely week off, PJ`ing and painting!

MtF - missed Master MtFs birthday..hope he found passport to enable a night of (legal) drinkin!

Debbie - good to see you..hope al is well in your world, dont be a stranger!

And of course a wotcha to everyone else... !

Right..off for a brew.Colleague brought handmade cookies back from her holidays... well it`d be rude not to right?!

Chrissie, the lunch with your sister sounds lovely xx why waste time slaving over a hot stove when you could be drinking eh? xx

Annie, good to see you back, sorry that you have been poorly xx

Debbie, Lovely to read you. I think of you every time I eat a Warba***s product, which is quite often xx In fact only yesterday when I had some Crumpets, as Pen said they are the best.

JG, Good for you and I hope it all works out xx

Scoobs, Glad everyone had a good time in York, it sounded great xx

I went to lunch yesterday at a local country pub with some friends and my friend had lamb pie, it looked delish. Me, I had fish pie, which was absolutely scrummy, followed by Gipsy Tart - took me right back to my school days.

Right, what to watch on telly now. I've OD on The OC, now I might catch up on The Body Farm or Mount Pleasant - can't decide!

Well I've now put in an official complaint about P H (a well known Welsh name beginning with J who are part of Bri*i*h G*s.

After many phone call, false promises of calling back and falsely saying the job had been done last week.

During my last phone call on Friday the reassured me that a qualified technician would definitly call out on Monday, 31st Oct. When it got to 3pm I phoned to ask them to confirm that he was on his way. She said that he had been! NO! I replied "I've been listening and watching for him, I'm not deaf and HE HAS NOT BEEN! She said someone would call back. Of course no one has and this has now gone much too far.

What on earth is going on with this company?

    How ya doing out there?

Feels like the first time I've sat down for a week!

Jools was, as always, fab-u-lous! As were all his guests including Rico Rodrigous, Ruby Turner and Chris Difford

Annie, you muppet (term used in our household for someone you love dearly who's done something daft) I remember you saying it was your daughter's birthday in the Autumn but I didn't realise it had happened! When was it? I'll put it on my calendar!

    Hello,

I'm here Sezza, hi susan, i'll have a sweet please if you don't mind .wev'e been invaded tonight with the treaters ,had to raid the fridge for yogurts and fruit shoots to put in the basket that I had just inside the front door ,and it was a large wicker shopping basket at that..

Chris , the lamb that you had for your meal last night must have well made up for the dreery weather that you had , I always put a spoonful of mint sauce in the gravy as well ,just adds a bit extra taste to the gravy. And where I was the weather was rather nice ,so I gather it must have been a north south devide with that.

Maddy ,I really do feel for you ,i hope you get it sorted .We live in a grove and at the end of the road ,there is a road with the same name .I won't even start on the problems that we have with the other number the same as us I'd give your local councilor a ring and get him onto the case ,you never know he might have sme pull.

And did I read that Annie isn't well ,get well soon Annie will be thinking of you .have you had your flu jab??

Crissie ,yes very expesive wasn't it .that will teach me not to hold on eh!!! lol.

Mary, lovely to see you ,and yes thank you ,had a great w/end.

Ali, I am absolutely full of envy of your pj day ,I think that they are far better than any tonic that you can take .In fact it won't be long untill I'm in mine. and don't forget your diary !!.

Debbie ,how lovely to see you and I have that bread ,the very best ,dont have any other .

Gail lol, and missed you and your lovely other half ,maybe next time eh!

    hope everyone else is AOK,

Deev, Hee Hee the PJ day was lush :) xx It's been paint wear day today, a fetching pair of tracky bottoms, tshirt and baseball cap on back to front! Well I'm grey enough already ;)

I've done two coats on the ceiling and rubbed the paintwork down. But it is exhausting and for some reason makes me feel really sick. I think it's the looking up, what with my dodgy neck and all. Tomorrow are the walls and hopefully the skirting and door frame, then it's all done. Thank goodness it's the smallest room in the flat.

Bids: I can safely say that we will never, ever, get fed up reading your posts. xx

AliB: well done for getting stuck in with the decorating. I honestly don't think I could do it - I have tried, and I'm just hopeless at anything DIY!

Not long now until our beautiful daughter moves in with her boyfriend to their new flat. I will miss her every minute of every day, until I get used to it. MrS, on the other hand, is less dramatic! Knowing how upset I am, he suggested to MsS last week that we should have a special lunch together, the three of us, before the Big Day. She thought that was a terrific idea. Last night, she said, "oh, regarding our lunch, would it be ok if (boyfriend) comes along too"?!

    Hey Chris,

This morning you started the day saying "the current business model is dead...what is next?"

Well, I have good news for businesses. In this whole panic state that the press is trying to get everyone into, there are still companies that thrive in difficult economies! But why...and how...

I am a marketing expert, helping shape the way business promote themselves. It is actually pretty simple and anyone can do it. Most people just don't know how.

We need some good news! Some POSITIVE news for a change.

What do you say? Lets give your listeners a hope. :-)
