Owning The Thing...

Chris Evans | 05:19 UK time, Wednesday, 11 January 2012

... but not The Thing it was for proved to be a revelation this morning on the wireless. I used to do it as a kid all the time. I used to buy things from second hand shops and jumble sales that might have just something to do with what I really wanted, in the hope that one day they would somehow lead me there. I remember even buying a hand sausage mincer with the intention of turning it into a propelling device for the dinghy my mum wouldn't let me have. Currently.

Wonderful.

I may even still have it. Off to check !

Peace and Love

Hi Chris: lovely to see a new blog this morning! And, indeed, happy birthday to the show - it just keeps getting better and better. xx

Hi everyone else: sorry to see that so many of us are struggling with the start of 2012. Life can be really hard at times, I know that for sure. Just hang in there, things will get better. xx

MC: just lovely to see you back on the blog. Terrible to read about the moron who defaced your car - what a complete nutter, and all for nothing. My lovely Mum would have said that this was a case of pure jealousy. xx

Jillygoat: what an awful end to 2011 for Mr JG. How any employer can do that to someone at that time of year is beyond me. I hope he gets something else, very soon. xx

Annie: sorry to hear you have had bad news. xx

It's very mild here today, too - I am starting to worry about where this will lead ... surely we are not going to get a away with a mild winter?!

    Have a good day, everyone.

    C xx
