Another beautiful day on Planet Earth...

Chris Evans | 10:05 UK time, Thursday, 24 May 2012

...But hey, I hear there's no sun in Bristol. Well Bristol, I have no idea what you have done to not deserve any. Already cracking the flags here in The Smoke.
In other news, The Baby Race is on, my wife versus five listener ladies all due on the same day, Monday 28th. Who will be first past the post ? No movement of any kind in the Evans household as of yet. We shall see.

Right, off home to try to resist going to watch the BMW PGA which is taking place just around the corner. This is not going to be easy.

Peace and Love

Chris, have you overlooked #19 from ydays blog?

  • Comment number 2.

Hi Chris: awww, get yourself round to the BMW thingy - you know that Tash will want you to go!

Hi everyone else: hope you are all ok.

    From the previous blog:

Bingo: good to see you - I'll keep my ears open for Rita!

Roo: oooh, that happened to me too, with a beloved skirt!

Berni: I thought we have had some really quite in-depth discussions on this blog, but this - most definitely - takes the biscuit!

    Happy Friday Eve, everyone!

Well ,not for the first time I hear you cry, I have been caught out by a new blog.

Still just thought I would pop back in and remind Chris that it is fine to watch the golf, give in to temptation, one of the few treats left in this world, well except rubbing breasts for an hour. Nuff said! LOL :-)

    Keep smiling

Christoff, go about your daily business, no point in hanging around. My first born was bang on the day, second was 10 days late. And if baby stays put until the 4th June, it'll arrive on my youngest granddaughters birthday, she will be seven, as she keeps reminding us ;)

Hello everyone, another stunner here today, hope it's the same where you are.

Could well be back as, due to a gammy leg, movement is a tad restricted. Any excuse I hear you say.

    Helllllllllllloooooooooooo Chrissie x x

  • Comment number 6.

    Morning!

I bought a beautiful suit with my first weeks wages way back in the 70s and did the same thing. Washed it when it should have been dry cleaned - it was so lovely and such a shame.

Chris as many have said your little fella will arrive when he wants to. A friend of mine had her little baby (Hamish) on Monday and he wasn't due until 7th June so there really is no telling. I was really lucky as both of mine arrived early according to the dates we had been given. Sometimes I think these dates are all guesswork anyway!

Came over all weird in the heat when I had a walk out yesterday so hoping the same doesn't happen today as such a shame to be in.

Hope everyone has a fab day xx

    Love
    Susan xx

  • Comment number 7.

    Hi Susan,

Maybe its the heat? Drink loads x x

  • Comment number 8.

I was three weeks preemie lol. I was due on the 19th May and arrived at the end of April. My Mum was due to go to the supermarket on the Monday morning as it was the beginning of a new month etc - well she didn't make it because I arrived so my Dad had to go shopping before he could have his breakfast.

My brother on the other hand - contractions started and I was delivered to which ever grandparents I was staying with and my Mum and Dad headed for the hospital only to be told he wasn't going to come just yet and they needed to go away and come back when contractions were closer together. Well I think they went for a massive drive (when petrol was like 80-90p a litre lol) and eventually my brother decided he would show up.

There is a like a new mum fest going down at church at the moment. There are 3 in the actual membership, the pastor is about to become a Grandad for the first time. Outside of church I've got two friends who are due soon - one is due imminently and the other is due in September.

It's going to be crazy - the creche is going to double in size I think lol.

Anyway back to the grindstone ttfn

  • Comment number 9.

With apologies to Bristol - it's boiling hot here!

    Keith: love it!

Pen: sorry to hear about the gammy leg. Take is nice and easy and, yes, please pop back! Your wee granddaughter will be getting very excited, I am sure. I can clearly remember the birthday card I got from my Mum and Dad for my 7th birthday - it had a beautiful white poodle on it!

    Cathmel: hellllllllloooooo to you, too!

Susan: yes, it is heartbreaking to see a lovely outfit wasted. I still miss that skirt I had! And, I know what you mean about the heat - much as I love the sun, I can't stay out in it too long. Well, maybe for a wee while if I had a cool glass of white wine to sip!

Han: nice to see you. Sounds very busy in your neck of the woods ... something they're putting in the water?!

    Going again.

Chrissie - I think there must be lol. I think at the last count when I included FB friends etc I think I was up to about 10 in the next 3 or 4 months!

  • Comment number 12.

    Hello CE & Everyone.

The sun has returned to this area of Planet Earth.

Chris-No matter what date baby arrives he is going to be a Gemini which is very good as this means he will get on well with his big brother.

I'm with Chrissie-Get yourself around the corner to the BMW PGA as Tash will be happy to have a lie down. Thinking more about this take little Noah with you.

Re the clothes washing errors, a few years back I bought a blouse, it was a perfect fit, a lovely shade of green, was very expensive but I bought it because I liked it so much. The first time I wore it I splashed bleach all down the front when I was bleaching the mugs. I felt very disappointed for a long time.

I have just found out I have two work related trips - one in June & one in July. First to Taunton and the other to Bristol.

    How exciting!!!

Anybody near there fancy a mini blog meet?

  • Comment number 14.

Phew, 'it aint half hot mum!' Not complaining mind, but have had to come indoors until some more shade reaches the patio. Think I'll put kettle on.

  • Comment number 15.

    Afternoon each from baking Fife.

Good luck with the baby race Chris - our 1yr old is 2 tomorrow, the wee petal and the stepson is 24 on Saturday - a good month for gorgeous boys.

Looked after the 8 month old yesterday - he's absolutely covered in chickenpox spots and still smiling. It was, however, a very long day (the 100+ mile round trip), so just went to bed when I got home.

Hope those in Bristol have got some sun now.

Back in a bit when I've caught up.

  • Comment number 16.

Keith - I need more information on the breast rubbing before I can comment!!

Re washing disasters: We all had postage stamp size sweaters when the then husband put everything in the new washing machine at No.1 - boil wash. (He wasn't very domesticated).

Pen, poor you with a gammy leg. I'm indoors too, at the kitchen table, with the patio doors open for a breath of air.

Han, how nice, lots of new babies to cuddle.

    xxxxxx

  • Comment number 17.

I'll join you in a cold drink Pen if that's ok!

We've also retreated to the shade for a while - it's a bit too sunny out there for a dog who's mostly black!

My mission this summer is to find a hat that keeps the sun of and looks reasonable - it might be a mission impossible!

Annie, boo to the chicken pox!

    All these washing disaster!

I bought a new top recently and managed to splash fat all over the front the first time I wore it! It's ok though cos Gibbs had chewed the strings and the cuffs so it is now and official dog walking top!

  • Comment number 18.

Thanks Chrissie and Annie. I might have to practice what I preach and go to the quacks, if it doesn't ease by the weekend. It's a b****r, hoping it's not my hip. Not sure I like this getting old marlarkey!

  • Comment number 19.

You snuck in there Sezza whilst I was typing. I quite like a cuppa, even in this heat, I find it quite refreshing.

Annie, bless the little one, it's good to get chicken pox out the way early. My eldest daughter has never had it, despite both her children having had it.

  • Comment number 20.

Just popping in before it's time to attend to the mail, and then get out of here!

Han: good grief, the future of the population is being well looked after where you are!

Maddy: bleach is great stuff, but no friend to our nice clothes!

Cathmel: hope you get a wee blog meet organised - that would be lovely.

Annie: bless your wee grandson. xx Re: what Keith was referring to, you need to see the previous blog, #19, I think. You may need a wee Merrrloooottt to calm your nerves!

Pen: it's a tough life! Hope you enjoyed your cup of tea!

Sezza: good luck with the hat buying. I know I have said it before, I look a wreck in a hat. What will I do if MsS ever gets married?!

Have a nice Thirsty Thursday evening, one and all.

    C xx

  • Comment number 21.

Blimey, I'm like a number 9 bus! I would add, eldest daughter is a nursery school teacher and still hasn't caught CP from the little darlings!

  • Comment number 22.

Pen, I was driven to the Docs by daughter (as in herding sheep, as well as in car) and have learnt today that I have high blood pressure and cholesterol. Yes, its a bugger getting old. I never go to the Doctors and I just hate the daughter turning into my mother!

Chrissie, off to see what Keith was on about.

Oh dearie me. Probably good advice Berni, but maybe we don't need to know if Chris is doing this.

Nipple stimulation!!! Oh - I did that eye catching headline already didn’t I??! LOL!! Just trying to compete with Moira and Vassos y’know!!

OK.....back to sensible......Mr Evans, did Noah arrive 12-days after his Due Date??

  • Comment number 27.

Sezza, I'd love a hat to keep the sun off but like you, don't think my face suits a hat. Bought one a couple of years ago to keep the rain off and daughter said 'I'ts fine', while trying not to laugh. I threw it in the boot of the car and it's still there yet.

    Perhaps a fascinator? xxxxxxx

  • Comment number 28.

Back again, I'm fine, just busy at work, so only just got home... a warning to the puppy owners, it really sometimes doesn't get better lol xx

I need some energy from somewhere, this heat is killing me!

    JG x

  • Comment number 29.

JG, Say it's not so!! Tell me it gets better, someday! I hope Finlay's not listening to you say that!

Annie, i don't mind a posh hat. I can wear one of those, if I do say so myself! But a simple sun hat!! I might have to go for the knotted hanky!

Berni, I'm waiting to see if Chris tells us he tried that method!

Right, Boy1's drama portfolio for his GCSE is done ready for the morning! Nothing to do now but hope the examiner likes it!

    Good morning all,

I love hats ,got a couple of sun hats ,the only thing is when you take them off your hair is flat ,cant win can you.

Another beautiful sunny day here today and I think last night saw a new moon ,and a nice clear sky.

Had a young chap at the house where I work yesterday doing the snag jobs of the decorating ..whilst giving him a cuppa he was chatting about work ,what he'd done for who and where he'd been .
Just done Chris Evans mums kitchen ,Oh! I said ,not letting on as you do .Yes he said ,done a lot for Chris Evans as well ,Oh!! I said ,and what is Chris Evans like ??.
He's a really nice bloke ..some times people with lots of money don't' really bother with you or talk to you but he did ,nice bloke and joked with us ,well that's nice isn't it ,just goes to show you doesn't it ..yes he said .
I never uttered a word about being a blogger as I was waiting to see what he said and getting to pounce if it had gone the other way ...lol..just goes to show you who you meet and who knows who eh!!

    Have a good day all...take care ...Bids.xxx

@MagicBusDriver - why ‘creepy’?! Intrigued of Hampshire.....

  • Comment number 35.

    Morning all

Isn't it a lovely day! And wasn't Lee Mack lovely this morning! He makes me laugh so much and you haven't seen anything as funny as Boy1 rolling on the floor laughing when he's watching Not Going Out!

I am so looking forward to this weekend for a few reasons

Firstly, Boy1's Drama GCSE will be over! he has a few exams after half term but they're just exams not this full on hours of practice needed practical!

The Eurovision will be over!! Have you ever heard anything so bad!

and Chris and Tash might have a new ickle baby to introduce! Well, soon if not this weekend!

Bids, good to hear your workman's report but I'm not surprised

Right, not long til I can get out in the sunshine!

    Sezza xxxx

  • Comment number 36.

    Hello everyone!

Hot, hot, hot here with a gentle breeze, lovely.

Sezza, am with you re Eurovision, it's a load of tosh. As for our entry, well, the less said as far as I'm concerned.

Bids, that's the thing about Chris, no airs or graces.

I don't do hats either, me and flat hair just don't go together.

Well, it's a hard life but it's got to be done, lunch in the garden methinks!

  • Comment number 37.

    Afternoon All,

It's another gorgeous day here in North Kent, I've even broken out the flip flops! This weekend I shall be mostly sorting out the summer clothes, so you can bet that when I've done that and packed all the winter clothes away it will be cold and rainy next week!

Pen, I hope you enjoyed your lunch in the garden - jealous moi ;)

Sezza, Quite agree about Eurovision, I for one won't be watching, I can't think of anything worse. It's all so political, I don't know why the UK don't pull out, that would save us a few bob every year xx

Not much planned for the weekend, Street Pastors tonight and then meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow. I might treat myself to a new chair for my balcony, then I can sit out there and enjoy some rays.

Have a super smashing weekend everyone.

    AliB
    xx

  • Comment number 38.

Pen, just you be careful there! Don't want you overdoing things!

Ali, New chair sounds like a good idea

Just take a leaf out of Chris' book and remember the sun cream!
