Third day of trying to beat the snow and get to Europe

TRAVEL UPDATE

And so the saga continues.

My previous blog finished with me having failed in five attempts to leave Newcastle for continental Europe.

As the sun sets on day two I have just started another round of flight bookings.

PLAN G is actually back to PLAN A of sorts.

For day three (Friday), Producer Andy and I will get on a train to Liverpool and try and get from the airport there to Berlin to resume our filming schedule.

Then we'll try and get from there to Nice (our original first destination) and rearrange all our interviewees and sacrifice one less crucial element and get back to the UK by Tuesday.

That means missing the first programme in our new series on Monday night at 7.30pm.

However as it is all in the can and I've laid down my commentary and today prerecorded my radio breakfast show interviews I should be fine.

But hang on! I've been saying it'll be fine for the past two days and got that wrong.

Fingers crossed on all fronts.

UPDATE 01:00hrs Friday

It gets worse still.
23:00 Thursday. Easyjet cancel my Liverpool flight (PLAN G). Lucky I checked their website before heading to bed.

23:30 Producer and I agree we'll give it one more go and look for a:

PLAN H
We find flights from Luton to Berlin and think the trains from Newcastle will get us there in time if the has issued is correct.

00:00 Manage to get flights booked over the phone by out-of-hours ´óÏó´«Ã½ corporate travel agency.

00:30 (Friday) As I await for confirmation email I discover they've misspelt one of our names on the booking. I am assured it won't be a problem at check-in later today.

01:00 Going to bed but wondering if the gods really are against us.

Find out what happens next.....
