Coyle should stay to lead Burnley
What a few days it's been, and boy have I suffered for it!
I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to give many opinions on football matters this week.
I admit to not once looking at a television while on my holidays - OK, maybe for karaoke, but that doesn't count.
The trip didn't get off to the best of starts when we arrived for a 7.00am flight only to find it was delayed for over four hours.
Jock fell asleep at the airport then I fell off my sun lounger as soon as we arrived. No prizes for guessing what we got up to during those four hours!
I'm struggling to remember a time when I've laughed as much over a four-day period in my life.
I'm not going to bang on about it but I've been having a bit of a bad time recently and I was close to pulling out of the trip.
In the end I decided to go and I'm so glad I did because the boys were absolutely brilliant.
So, even though I run the risk of the Facebook comparisons again, I'm thanking every one of them. Franko, Moff, Chocco, Tomo, Pud and Jock - it was an absolute pleasure!
We are now almost done and dusted with regards to the football for this season - with the small exception of the .
It's a game I'm really looking forward to and one that I'm sure a lot of football fans were hoping for. The champions of England against the champions of Spain and two of the most exciting teams to watch in the world.
It's usually games like these that disappoint. They are hyped up to the max and you expect end-to-end stuff and a possible goal feast.
More often than not the fans are let down by a dull game when the occasion sometimes gets the better of the players. I just can't see that happening with this one.
There'll be no nerves for me tonight as unfortunately my teams aren't involved so I'll enjoy it regardless of the result. For what it's worth, though, I reckon United will sneak it in a five-goal thriller - here's hoping!
The one game I have seen over the last week was .
I have to say that I was delighted for Burnley and I think there are probably a lot of neutrals out there who would say the same thing.
They play football the way it should be played and seem to have a real togetherness about their squad.
They also have a great young manager in and I really hope he stays with Burnley and leads them into the Premier League next season as he is already being sought after.
Gordon Strachan has recently resigned from his position at Celtic and Coyle is an early favourite with the bookies.
I'm sure he will want to continue his job there for the time being and test himself in one of the best leagues in the world.
I saw a lot of flags and banners at Wembley on Monday saying "Coyle is God" and I'm sure their fans are a little worried.
Coyle grew up a Celtic fan and it is always difficult to turn down your boyhood heroes - he just might not get the opportunity again.
Finally, congratulations to and good luck for next season.
I can't believe pre-season is less than three weeks away!

I think if Coyle proves himself in the EPL then he *will* get another chance at Celtic anyway. Judging from your article, you enjoyed a few 'liquid refreshments' on your break, I wonder what you make of Harry Redknapp's views on players and drink? :)

Coyle should see the job through to completion with Burnley.
