Aled

I have a confession. I鈥檝e watched some of the football. I know, I know, I鈥檓 changing, but they鈥檙e starting to break me. I still talk / work / text right through it but I鈥檓 finding myself wanting it on JUST in case a goal goes in. Maybe it鈥檚 because as each goal goes in the duration of our stay or the chances of me sitting in my living room at home anytime soon gets affected.

I left the bore-central Ukraine v鈥.. the other country game that was on the other night to go to my chalet but even found myself turning the German commentary on - JUST in case the impossible happened and it turned into an exciting game. I fell asleep.

Things are busier right now than at any time since we鈥檝e been out here. With no games till Friday, (Saturday for England (see I have learnt something)) we鈥檝e been working on more things for the show. Taking a break yesterday for a gruelling 40 minute run with some of the team led by Asa (an ex-Marine with a hotline to Yoda - he has a saying for everything!).

Spent yesterday evening in the local square which was showing the Spain v France game. Rachel and I spent the first half sat on massage chairs. Rachel looked to be enjoying it, I looked like I was in pain. Then half time was spent getting 鈥渄rops鈥 for the show from some of (the more attractive) locals. The majority of which were hoping that Spain would keep their 1-0 lead and win. Imagine the effort I wasted when France then went ahead and scored 2 in the following 45 minutes. Couldn鈥檛 use any of my lovely drops on the show this morning. Very frustrating.

I鈥檓 planning to go to Cologne on my day off this weekend. If you鈥檝e ever been, where should I go?

x

p.s. For an alternative view of our trip out here take a look at my - sh! but don't tell the team :)

Hi Aled,

Glad it's over now! We can get some decent telly back, and news and so on! Life gets back to normal.

I just looked at your phone pics page, and can you do me a favour before you come back to the UK? Get me your 'Regular Waiters' phone number? He's cute!

Bon

Do NOT go to the chocolate factory, waste of time and money and an insult to Chocolate. The fountain is just depressing. Museum Ludwig was absolutely amazing, definitely worth a visit. The Dom (Cathedral) is fab! it's huge! And look out for the car on the shed in the main square place...and the Pizza place in the train station is really rather nice!

Hi Aled,

I've been to Cologne. It's nice around the river area if you like that sort of thing.

As Samantha said the cathedral is really nice and worth having a look inside. Also, the square where it stands is great for chilling in summer (and there's a BK there too if you're into your whoppas!)

As for footie, I think you need to force yourself to watch more and I'm sure you'd get into it. Ditch the woo woo's, get a few beers down you and you'll be a new man.

Have a great weekend.

Hey Aled. Glad to hear you are getting into the footie, even if only a little!

I have been to Cologne but only for 3 days. If you like chocolate, go to the chocolate factory/museum. The cathedral is also pretty cool, but perhaps not advisable if you are scared of heights.

Have a good weekend!

Cologne's coat of arms has an interesting design though! ;)
