Grace was... anything but

AledI'm at home in sunny London writing this, getting ready to catch my flight back to Germany and join the others. I came home to firstly see the husband but (more importantly) I had to meet Grace once I knew she was up for eviction. Here's how it went...

I'm guessing the readers of the Chris Moyles in Germany blog won't normally be fans of Big Brother so I won't bore you too often with Big Brother entries. If you're a Big Brother fan feel free to check out my but seeing as I asked you on here for questions it's only fair I tell you what happened.

060617_ob_bbaledchair.jpgWell, by the time we get to meet her at the press conference she'd already faced a mauling by the public and had done a skilled job of turning around a sceptic Davina to the point where Davina clearly enjoyed the chat with the chief bitcher. Whether it was a tactic or she was being genuine the way she handled the criticism was spot on, which made my job that bit harder. There's nothing I like more than bringing Big Brother bullies or bitches down to size while feeling a warm public service glow armed as I am with listener texts, but Grace was always going to be different.

You're never going to be good at being two-faced unless you're able to know your audience and give them what it is they want, and being upfront, apologetic and slightly regretful was the best way to get through it. But how do you give someone hell when they're being all of the above?

Before we got to find out there was the most bizarre presentation by one of Big Brother's most senior people Phil Edgar-Jones. He, using a mammoth plasma, broadcast quality tapes and footage of at least three camera feeds took us, frame by frame, through the moment Aisleyne chose the golden ball that gave Susie her chance in the BB house. He did this to show us that the balls did have different numbers on and that it wasn't in fact a fix at all.

How bizarre.

060617_ob_bbphil.jpgWhy do Big Brother care so much? It's a TV show! If they chose to turn around in 10 weeks and produce 15 odd Equity cards for all the housemates they're perfectly within their rights. Any rules of honesty they abide by are self-imposed. So what if it was planned she'd go in. But hey, it wasn't. They didn't. And the red tops can now go back to reporting on Grace's boobs , or lack of (hey, her words not mine).

Speaking of which it was our turn, the press, to talk to Grace. Well, obviously I'm not going to highlight everything that happened otherwise what would your incentive be to tune in to Radio 1, Monday morning at 8.15 to hear the results? but I will say I feel I walked the line between being true to the people who text in and being unnecessarily nasty for someone who was having to analyse her entire way of dealing with life in front of the UK's glare.I think I got the point across.

060617_ob_bbgracezoe.jpgOne other thing, now I'm not saying I'm more important than anyone else in that press conference or that i should be treated any more special than any other person but I thought Channel 4 press and I had an understanding. I always, in 6 years of press conferences had the last question. That's the one I save my best question for and that's my 'going for broke' moment.

Not this week. Zoe who chaired the press conference for some bizarre reason called "last few questions" avoided my eye-line and took questions from other people. I ignored her and went ahead and asked anyway which went down like a mole in a Big Brother production meeting. I have no idea what happened, or why Zoe decided on showing who's boss on this particular press-conference but I have the audio, and it'll be airing it tomorrow morning at 8:15.

Enjoy!

I think Grace deserved to go! But on Friday night I realised she wasn't as bad as we all made her out to be! Anyway the throwing water over Susie was a cracker! I laughed for ages! Even though it was childish and she didn't deserve it!

Good work at the press conference Aled, although I still thought you could have been a bit harsher on Grace. She would have deserved it. I don't think the next few evictions will really be worth going to though, so you'll be just as well off in Germany. The husband will have to survive without you for a while. Kate xxx

How much of a coward does Grace want to be??

Firstly when she knew she was up for eviction she talked behind Suzies back the whole week but was being as nice as punch to her face!

And secondly she only threw the water at Suzie when she knew she wouldnt have to deal with it!

If i was Big Brother i would have locked her in the house for at least another hour to see it all kick off, at least then she would have to have dealt with it and wouldn't be able to just run away!

I can't believe she tried to kid herself on thinking that the public didn't like her because of her and Mikey!

Good riddance i say!!

She was the most two handed, bitching, two faced, person ever in the BB show she deserves all she gets, and hopefully she will not get much dough from the result.
