Life in the Big Germany House

AledNot far off two weeks in to our World Cup experience and it's keep your head down time. The excitement of being out in Germany has calmed slightly and now the realities of a close nit team working very long hours across different technical situations means tempers are being tested.

BFBS (The British Forces radio) have been very good to us and have allowed us to completely take over the place (as often happens when the Chris Moyles team comes to town!), but the studios are different to what we're used to, and after finally settling into our makeshift studio in a living room in Southern Germany we've had to change our ways again.

From all the production team being huddled in the corner of the production room (as that's where the power adapter is) to me editing on a laptop literally on my lap, to a queue of mobiles needing charging as we have one charger here we're adapting! So we dealt with the frustration by having a 'down' couple of hours yesterday and having a laugh. Jocelin and I went and used the gym at the army barracks (which I found a tad intimidating!). It was great to be able to work out properly (no offence Asa and his Marine-style star-jump work outs) and the rest of the team went to the local pool which had slides!

The last set of competition winners came out to join us last night. Stephen and Kate. We've been very lucky with the winners on this trip. I've been involved with looking after competition winners for Radio 1 for around 6 years and it's a sad but true fact that just because they listen to Radio 1 doesn't always make them nice people and you obviously cross your fingers that the people who win these prizes (especially when they live with us) are going to be nice. Luckily for us they've all been very nice with Stephen and Kate being possibly the nicest couple I've ever met.

They turned up at the Italian restaurant we were at last night. For us, in a Big Brother stylee we're very excited to have new faces come out to join us so as soon as Jocelin arrived with them in tow the whole team jumped up and huddled around them to welcome them to germany.

Better go, just sat in pressing the buttons on the desk while Razorlight rehearsed around me and they sounded brilliant, so going to get a front row seat for the actual performance. Should be good.

I think Rachel is great and I want to marry her. Real Top Totti.

Can't wait until the team get back from Germany for some reason the show doesn't seem the same not as funny but I don't know why, who cares Chris is still the man.

Come on England.

you dont have to sell it to me mate, I have seen a few people complaining about you guys being out there. Comments like '..they should be over here in uk not wasting our licence money..' My personal opinion is that is makes a refreshing change to the show. Not kissing A** here just making a point.

Razorlight rock by the way ..
