This blog: amazing or rubbish? Discuss...
If you listen to the show obsessively you may know that I look after our presence in the 'digiverse'. Hoop Dogg isn't my real name of course, but the Moyles team like to call me that because my lifestyle and appearance are very similar to that of the famous .
Only joking! That's not true, in fact my life isn't even as exciting as Dave's, even though that may be hard to believe.
Anyway, we'd like to know what you think of this blog, mainly so we know whether to celebrate in the pub or whether we need to sack anyone.
What are the best bits of this blog? Is there anything you're not so keen on that we could improve? Have we got the size of our entries right, do we ramble on too much, or would you like to hear even more from us?
Or do we all just need to get out more?
Tell us what you think in that big box down there - and thanks!

I think the blog and general web presence of Radio 1 and the Moyles show is brilliant! I love the photo galleries and am always amazed at how up-to-date the site is - good job Hoop Dogg!

Im new to the world of Blogs and Blogging and so far most of them seem to be an utterly pointless, waste of web space.
This one is ok though. However, I still dont understand why it exists.

I got hooked on the blog while the team were in Germany so was really pleased to see it keep going. I look forward to my trips around Aled's behind the scenes stuff and Dave's random meanderings so keep it up - more please!

Loving the content of the blog, although I would love to have the entire blog appearing in my RSS reader. I only get to read a few lines in the RSS Reader, and I'd like to be able to read the whole thing without having to go to the website... (on the Chris Evans blog, you can read the whole thing...if I should be confessing to reading that too, I don't know!)
Love you
Tx

I like the blogs, and think the varying attitude of the team i.e. confused, geeky, disinterested etc. actually make it more interesting.
Also Dom's blog 'P & B' is broken, well the link to it is.
Thanks

Would be very good to see more blogs from the whole team and also updated on a daily basis, cause quite often nothing is put on there for days.
Aswell as well maybe contributions from willing guests or the Moyles Jingles Singers.
And maybe some exclusive photos that can only be accessed via the blog.
Keep up the good work....

Oops, sorry about the double post-I'm not quite sure what happened there. Oh well, by (accidentally, I swear)doing that, I think I have most definitely put my point across now. I am sorry though, I honestly didn't mean to do that.

Now let me see Liz...oh yes! I think I just may have heard of sarcasm before! And seeing as how I have heard pretty much every one of Chris' shows for approximately the last 7 years (when I first started listening to him), then I would say that yes, I do indeed listen to the show.
It is the very fact that I care so much about the show that makes me want to give so much honest feedback(something which Hoop Dog is asking for here, in case you hadn't noticed)about it and anything connected to it, such as these blogs.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I know for a fact that Aled, for one, is always eager to hear any opinions about the show itself/the team blogs etc. whether they be positive or negative. I am simply putting forward my own personal thoughts. I'm not saying that I am necessarily right in what I am thinking, and obviously the team have no need to take mine or anyone else's views on board if they don't wish to do so.

KEEP THE BLOGS GOING, especially Dave's, I love the man.
Kate, get a life, have you never heard of sarcasm? Do you actually listen to the show?
And Gemma, Dave isn't "dum," so I don't think he will take "affence."

It would be nice if you could click on the name of the blogster (now the official new term ... blogger is so 2005) and see a page listing all the blogs that an individual team member has submitted. Other than that, more Dave please. He obviously really doesn't like having to do this, and so his tales of trouser dilemmas and salad decisions are hilarious.

Simple way to improve it. More Dave and Dom. The funniest blogsters around.
Maybe update it more frequently, but apart from that go to the pub and buy yourself a large round of drinks to celebrate a great feature. and of course, take pictures to share with us all here... Mr Hoopy...

Hey guys...
I LOVE the blog! Esp. Dom and Carrie's lil' chunks! Really enjoy some of the surreal rambling...like the one about Dev from Corrie-genius!
Who cares if Chris doesn't write many blogs...he's a busy guy, I'm sure that he doesn't just bog off at 10-he's got shows to plan! Some people were just made to write them, (Aled!) and others weren't!
I'm only glad that I have something to entertain me when I'm avoiding doing any work! (eg. Now!)
Keep it up guys, and more weirdy stories please, they make me happy!!!
P.S. I heart Longman, and I normally go for short men! Tasty! :D xo

Dont mind having less music on your show, would rather have you lot making me laugh all morning there is the rest of the day to listen to music on radio 1. If you start the day with a smile you feel beter and everytime i listen to your morning show i dont just smile i laugh and it feels good. I love longmans sexy voice.

First off Dave, I was just trying to answer the question as honestly as I possibly could, and give constructive criticism. Also, Aled has just told me that HE liked what I wrote, and I think I'll take HIS opinion over yours if you don't mind.
I do think that you have actually made a very good suggestion in your post though, the one about letting us hear from some 'old friends of the show'. I would love that to happen!

i think the bloggs are a great idea.keep up the good work.it's no big deal to me if chris does or doesn't do any.i think kate is taking it far too seriously.i mean, is the world going to end if chris doesn't do one?? i don't think so.as for the others, i can take it or leave it.i have an idea tho.why don't you get people from shows gone by and get bloggs from them ?? lizzy, gym lady jane etc..... and let us know what they are up to now ????
anyway, keep up the good work hoop dog.
p.s joce is fit, shame she now has a bf.

I wasn't going to bother putting down my opinions on this at all tbh, but having now thought of a few things that I would actually quite like to say,I've decided that I may as well.
Aled's blogs are consistently the best by a mile. It isn't difficult to work out the reasons for this. One of them is that he is the only person on the team who genuinely clearly enjoys writing them, and who also has the most practice at 'blogging', having been doing it for a long time now, well before this R1 blog started.
Even though I do really like the whole idea of the 'Chris Moyles Show Blog', whilst actually reading them, I often get the impression from the vast majority of the blogs (excluding Aled's) that the people who wrote them only did so because they felt obliged to (which they are of course).
There are exceptions to this occurence occasionally, for example I really enjoyed reading the blogs Dom and Carrie wrote as each other. While Dave's blogs are often unintentionally hilarious simply because they are so mundane, still that uneasy feeling that he really didn't want to have to write it comes through strongly to me as I read them. However, I suppose as long as his blogs continue to amuse me as much as have done so far, that fact is kind of irrelevant anyway.
As has been pointed out already, Chris' blogs are conspicious only by their absence. Does the great Saviour not have a single spare moment in his daily showbizzy life to reward his loyal listeners, the great unwashed, with a just few sentences about his exciting life on a regular basis. If he did so more frequently then it would allow us gain an insight into a life we can only dream of, in which work is well over by midday, your office is crammed full of freebies, you get to meet the rich and famous (I mean just imagine the thrill of meeting someone as fascinationg as P. Diddy must have been), and best of all, you can spend your days visiting zoos and flying kites!
So essentially, whilst I most definitely do like the idea of the blogs, I think that certain people need to pull up their socks a bit and improve their standard of blogging. Maybe they could ask Aled for a few tips? I'm sure he'd be only too happy to help them out with a few pointers..

Well it's a great idea so first off don't get rid of it! But i think it can be improved a little bit..
Maybe a bit more behind the scenes stories - about how the show's made and the thinking that goes into the show.
Another thing is that on other ´óÏó´«Ã½ blogs they're billed as 'a conversation'. But that dosen't happen here - often in the comments you ask a question but they will never be answered. Unlike for example, the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sport editors blog, where they always respond to the comments. So that would definetly be good.
I'ds like to see more blogs to be honest.. maybe a general Radio 1 blog with entries from all kinds of people who work at the station.. Andy Parfitt etc.

Well, let's look at the evidence,
The Happy birthday Aled! Blog by Rachel so far has 600 comments which has actually beat Dave's My trouser dilemma blog, which only got 518.
Now, personally, i would say that's a lot of people, remember, not everyone will comment.
Basically, i like it, keep it going, it gives us an even better insight into the life of the team.
And, a question, why don't you make the world happy by having The Breakfast Show on all day, everyday. Then everyone's happy?

Aleds are the best obviously. And although peoples say Daves are rubbish, they make me laugh, so thats a good thing right.
And why hasnt Chris done any? Im sure hes a busy man etc but surely he can squeeze in a blog every now and then?
Did i say Aleds were the best?
You mgiht ramble a bit, but ramblings good, i like that.

HD,
Ok, here's the skinny. The problem with blogs is that they pick up a pretty select band of readers. So to try and make them so that all 8m of TCMS listeners will read them might make them so bland as to render them pointless. I think the key might be to make each author write for different sections of the TCMS listenership. How that might take shape is up to you though, dawg.
Keep skinning the competition ALIVE!
