Anyone for polo?

Carrie | 14:13 UK time, Friday, 30 May 2008

Yay its Friday!! Thank goodness for that!! This week's been a long one even though we had a bank holiday..

Anyway it's the weekend now and they've promised that the weather will pick up! Lets hope as I have a wedding to go tomorrow..

carrie.jpgTalking of rain - what is going on with this weather! Left work yesterday and it was proper blue sky everywhere - really hot so only needed a vest top! Perfect for Polo! I went to the Guards Club in Windsor Great Park for a special Great Britain v Ireland match to celebrate 100 years since the teams met in the first London Olympics.

Dressed up really summery as it was still bright and warm when I left home but by the time I got there the heavens had opened!!

Still we had a ball though! Great action and a little bubbly to help the afternoon along! A fantastic match - I love Polo ponies they're just amazing for speed and turning on a sixpence - there was also a really funny Aussie commentator who I swear had been on the pop!

Great Britain one it 6 - 3..their youngest player Jonny Good is just 16.
There were 4 chukka's of 7 minutes (usually 6 chukka's in a match) and its really fast and furious! The mallets are so heavy - would really love to have a go but will need to beef up the forearms a bit!

At half time its ace cos we got to go and tread in the divots! Very much a Pretty Woman moment. Look out for the steaming divot and all that! Here's me having fun with my frilly brolly!

Bought it for the wedding just in case it rained (Tom thought it was v tacky) and knew it would come in handy one day.

Anyway enjoy your weekend! Watch Gordon Ramsay talking all about how he parked in his wife Tana's garage from todays show and watch the videos of the whole week!!

Lots of love
