Meet the Mongrels
Don't believe me? Here's a song from the series:

Read on to meet the characters!
Friends... animals... mongrels.
The only wild fox in South London with subscriptions to all the major broadsheets (excluding The Sunday Times), Nelson is, as he never tires of introducing himself at dinner parties... "An urbane fox!"
Destiny
At heart, angel-faced perfectly groomed pedigree Destiny is just a sweet teenage romantic. And like all sweet teenage female romantics, she has the dead-eyed psychotic ruthlessness of a freelance Serbian assassin when it comes to getting what she wants.
Marion
It's probably because of his deep-rooted abandonment issues that Marion clings so tightly to his good friend Nelson. Frankly he needs all the paternal guidance he can get. A simple (some may say 'borderline retarded') soul, Marion is nothing if not highly corruptible.
Kali
Kali is a spiteful, petty, vindictive, s***ty little bird with a small beak and a big voice. In fact there's only one thing in life she enjoys more than revelling in other people's misfortune -and that's causing other people's misfortune and then revelling in it a bit afterwards (like maybe over some coffee and a bagel from the bins near Pret).
Vince
Potty-mouthed sociopath Vince is everything Nelson is not. He's a REAL fox. He's a PROPER wild animal. He's a red-blooded chicken-eating homicidal PREDATOR. As a consequence some of his eBay feedback is frankly appalling.
Mongrels begins on Tuesday 22nd June at 10pm on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three. Find out more about the characters and watch more clips on the programme page.

The dog peeing contest at obedience class and "I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, oh look treats!" was classic observational humour, very funny. Chopsticks adventures and bling bird? Not so much.
If you have a dog, a fox or a sociopath chicken, don't miss it! :-)

('**** Chickens' was the best and funniest musical number I've heard since South Park's Terrance & Phillip sung 'Uncle ****a'). Some great observational humour and some wonderful throw away lines "I thought you had to fly into a building to be surrounded by this many virgins" - classic.
All the way through I couldn't help but be reminded of the comedy cartoon series "Bromwell High" (no bad thing) and wonder if the writing or production crew are in any way connected/related.
As it is this is ´óÏó´«Ã½ Three doing what it does best - bringing new comedy to our TVs. Sure it may not be everyone's cup of teas but if you've ever found yourself laughing at a joke or situation and then thinking "I'm not sure I should be finding this funny" this is definitely the show for you - Don't miss it!!

The puppets are excellent and although Destiny and Kali are perhaps a little too unlikeable, Nelson, Marion and Vince more than make up for them.
And as for Episode 2... well, Kieran the Runty Fox was brilliant! I really hope they can keep this up for the rest of the series.

At last we have returned to the basics of entertainment. Jokes and pure talent mixed together. I haven't laughed so much in years and can't wait for the series to come out on dvd.
I do hope this is not a flash in the pan but the start of many many series of reality trussed up in animal form. The puppeteers are a credit to the UK and this programme surely has export potential.
I would say its the Spitting Image of the 21st Century but its much much more than that. Well done!

Please ´óÏó´«Ã½ do not make this a one off series, Mongrels should be here for a long time to come.

The first episode I watched was episode 4 and I fell in love with vince, Marion and Nelson!!! xxx so adorable (except vince of course)
I will tell my friends to check it out but they usually watch ´óÏó´«Ã½ three a lot so maybe they've already found it xx
I watched the rest on iplayer and peed myself laughing xx
It does remind me a bit of south park because of its dark humour and family guy because of all the cutaway gags. But it mainly reminds of Friends (which I also love). I think it reminds of Friends because in mongrels they hang around at the bins and in friends they hang around at Central Perk, In Mongrels Marion and Nelson are best friends like Joey and Chandler (Joey being Marion and Chandler being Nelson) and also because Kali is nuts like Phoebe!!!!!!!!! xxxx
Anyway love Mongrels because it's hilarious with funny characters and songs! I dislike Destiny and Nelson shouldn't fancy him. He's way to good for her!!! Hope it goes on to make more series, make some dvds and merchandise and hopefully becomes a cult fave! xxx
